  • We have just finished building this absolute weapon of a 200 series and followed it through to create a series of vids to show you all how its done....The end result is Epic, so let's show you how we did it.
So why cut a 200 Series Landcruiser in half??
In this video we explain the why, the how and the when!! We talk about the specs of this build and how the process works to turn a standard 200 series wagon into an Ultimate Dual Cab Touring Beast!!
Any questions or comments, drop them in below and look out for the next video when it comes out. The cruiser goes to the chop shop to get cut in half in Episode 2...
    Cheers guys - Justin.
You can get a whole range of discounts on gear we use right here: www.tripinavan...
You can catch up with our travels on social media:

Our most watched Episode - z • BEACH CAMPS ON THE NIN...
    It all started when…
In December 2015 we packed up and hit the road for what we thought would be a 12 month Lap of Oz. Fast forward 4 years and we decided to create a video series of our travels to show you all what it’s like to live life on the road!!

Justin...you da man bro. 1) Because you love and look after your wife. That I believe is the key to your success. 2) You guide, guard and govern your family. You’re a great dad and Bec is a phenomenal mother. 3) You are great ambassadors of this great nation of Australia 4) You inspire and teach others who dare to believe. 5) Love the project management way you have planned the build. 6) And the best is yet to come. 7) Just so that you and your family know ... I have been praying for you all. Here’s my why. Because I can ... and I do. Bless you always 🙏👍😎😆😃🎶👌🤙

You can raise the GVM and GCM etc...but underneath it's still a 200 Series cruiser. Personally I wouldn't like to be towing 4,500kg caravan with that vehicle. My personal limit for a trailer is to be no more than 80% of the GVM of the tow vehicle.
I'll stick with my Single Rear Wheel Silverado 3500 thanks anyway... Payload of around 1,800kg (GVM 5,171kg) and GCM is over 11,000kg (but that is if it's being used for 5th wheeler) . My Bushtracker is only 3,500kg, so is well within the capacity.
It goes like stink and has fuel economy that would make Landcruiser owners weep blood!! hahaha. It's all decked out with full canopy (not the type you bolt onto the tub).
Anyway, good luck with it and looking forward to seeing what the rest of the build shows us.

Justin and Bec, we love your videos and the new rig looks just the ticket for your family to continue living life on the road. Our last big trip was in 2012/2013 with a Patrol and Oz tent. That set up worked for the two of us, as we wanted to do tracks such as the Simpson Desert. We were away for 10 months and travelled 42,000 k's. The previous time that I did the Simpson was in a Lada Niva, a vehicle that took me all over Oz and never let me down. Stay safe.

The landcruiser option is the best outback tracks are made by cruisers wheelbase and the yank vehicles wheelbase is wider which plays havoc on wheelbearings.

Hi Justin & Bec, hope all is good for you guys, we are still hanging around SA at the moment, changed to a lovely spot at 8 mile creek, down on the southern coast waiting for border closures to change.
Caught up with a guy at Robe a few weeks back (he was visiting the area) with a Norweld biult 200 series stretched 600mm, looked intruiging so I waited for him to check it out, he also follows you guys and says that they are a great set up. Hope this set up works well for you guys, enjoy your travels and hope to catch up one day.

Hi Justin and Bec, Its great to see the new rig. Looks awesome, I also own a 200 series and love how the vehicle tells the van what to do and not the other way around. You'll love the car, comfort, power, reliability, enjoy the new ride. One other problem with the RAM is by the time you do the mods required to the RAM to get enough GVM you will require a truck license to drive it legally. All the best look forward to the next vid, Thanks

Spend a Friday night inn the Southern United States or Dam Crazy Texas and you'll see a some dam crazy yank tanks with dam 42's on the rubber and jacked up so dam high you need a chopped 200 series just to get in the dam truck!

Great vid, would it be possiable to cover off a few of the typical questions? What's it like to park in shopping centers, what's it like to drive around town when not towing. The reason i ask is I suspect it is not too bad at all but you always have ppl comment about it.
Is it possiable to show the difference in towing "feel" ? Not sure how but i would think that towing with a well designed rig would be much better than the normal dual cab ute etc.

That's epic guys!!! Can't wait to watch the next episodes!! quick question: Did you installed airbag man plus the new suspension ? whats the go with the air bags putting too much pressure in the chassis in a point that it could bend it ? Cheers amigos!

Marcelo Valente Ramos Airbag’s in the rear coils. No chance of bending the new chassis in this thing

Here I am thinking my bank manager was pretty good with non intrusive surgery to remove my soul for my 2019 200 series ….. what do I know???? ….. a wee bit jealous and probably gonna be a lot worse as these vids progress ….. I did similar, sold house brought and built a damn good 79 series with a 10yr travel plan, unfortunately only got 3yrs in and circumstances changed ….. no regrets tho

Hey guys, did you consider the 4x4 light trucks at all like Iveco, Isuzu NPS or Fuso Canter? No space or weight issues and not much bigger? Reasons you didn't go with them?

insanedanielc118 they are a truck and they drive like a truck... and you can’t get a canopy like Norweld fitted to one. 💪

I love your set up, shes an awesome rig mate 👍 Was there any upgrades on the trans like a bigger cooler to accommodate the extra power from the tune and GVM? It would be a shame an costly of you burnt it out on a sandy track if you head deep inland. Maybe all the upgrade tech is in the next video haha, take care Steve.

Did you look at 6 wheelers in Toowoomba. I think thats the way i would go. Normal dual cab with 4.5 towing and 8 t gvm. You could build x2 chop cruisers for that. Your will be awesome but the cost would put me off. Will be interesting to see the final cost in the later videos. Must be wall north of 150k.
