Just visit Singapore or Malaysia some 40-odd years ago, and see how they have managed to develop their economies.
Both nations provided political or regime stability to the investor which translates into confidence.
DR Mahathir sat in his office for 20 or more years and Lee Kuan Yew the founding father of Singapore governed his nation uninterrupted for more than 40 years since it broke away from the Malaysian Federation.
Much of economics revolves around psychology and cognitive and social neuroscience, also now taught as neuroeconomics in the Western World.
The economy works when human minds work!
That requires Pavlovian-style classical conditioning and the formation of nudge units which will incentivize economic agents to make the right decision at the right time, and respond to the government's macroeconomic policymix!
We must understand that Advanced Macroeconomic Models are derived from Microeconomic assumptions which in return are deeply influenced by behavioural science.
