@@idkputsomerandomname9657 I don't really see these additions as "nerfs" to a Pokémon and more-so see these additions as "counter-play" to a strategy. Like, the Tapus being responsible for the nerfing of the damage boost by Electric, Psychic, and Grass Terrain is what I consider a nerf, while the addition of Ice Spinner is "counter-play". If we're going off your example, technically Incineroar nerfed Intimidate by leading to moves such as Wicked Blow, Surging Strikes, and Ivy Cudgel. Or Pokémon that use Protect a lot nerfed it by the addition of Unseen Fist and Mighty Cleave.

Its surroundings now consists of mons like Mienshao, Krookodile, Flygon, Magnezone, Gallade, Lucario, and more, but it possessing an important offensive and defensive role in the tier and has a large variety of sets it can utilize (albeit with varying levels of consistency). So, as examples, if we look at at what it was able to support, therefore Thundurus was more effective on teams that didn't need the power that Thundurus brought in general. Again, this isn't super in-depth, but it's primarily for doubles that this tends to hold true... more of a normal types, but there are some non-normals that could, and did, replicate similar results by being the support for those heavy hitters. Again, this is my overview, but this definitely sounds like one of those Pokemon, again, this is from what I understood, or think I understood. That's all I'm gonna say about Thundurus in doubles, as far as singles, I find myself looking at it less and less because it feels more and more like a showcase for "ooooh, look at the shiny new toy!" at least in terms of the format.
