  • seaweed extract is derived from brown macro algae by cold compressed technique.
    seaweed extract is rich in varoius vitamins,minerals and plant hormones,even natural form of NPK (macro nutrients) and various micro nutrients essential for holistic development of the plants.
    promote healthy root development,lush green healthy foliage and improved flower bearing.
    with no side effects it has become the fertilizer of my choice for past few years
    This in combination with epsom salt(magnesium sulfate) works like magic for my orchids.

    Your experience narrating the pros and cons of only using sea weed extract and epsom salt is highly appreciative. Healthy roots, healthy leaves and full bloom in your home. Congrats. Please share your experience on maintaining the right humidity especially for phalaenopsis in extreme climatic conditions.

    Thank you for your posting. Very informative and I have gained a lot. I am in New Delhi and am trying to grow orchids in a green house. It gives me good humidity and i am able to give indirect sunlight by locating the plants accordingly. Though I am careful about not overwatering, my dendrobium's leaves, when they become a little big, turn yellow even though they are not very old. They also often put out new leaves. Can you derive any insights?

    • @adyashasorchiddiaries9550
      @adyashasorchiddiaries9550  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If u dilute and spray Nothing will happen..most of the water soluble fertilizers are foliar sprays i.e they will be absorbed via leaves.. drenching the plant completely and letting the leaves and crown stay wet for too long is what should be avoided.otherwise light misting of leaves even daily won't cause any problem provided the ventilation is good and the leaves and crown dry soon..

      I am just so tensed for that orchid. I just want to save it anyhow. Wooden chips which I used , suddenly green colour fungi started growing just like on top of rotten fruits ! I removed those bark chips, but due to multiple time shifting of that orchid,I think it’s unable to grow now ! I am just using powder cocopit ,charcoal.. haven’t packed the roots completely or compactly. Just under the moist powder. I have used seaweed fertilizer yesterday. Removed the bark chips.

    Mam, plz don’t mind but you are dishing out quite wrong information. I am very new to orchids but not new to houseplants and flowering.
    I can safely guarantee that see weed extract is a plant booster( a combo of plant hormones and micronutrients) but NOT NPK. it can’t work a substitute of NPK fertiliser. I use the same brand for many plants but not orchid.
    Orchid should be fed with a balanced NPK orchid fertiliser in a low quantity every week and see weed or kelp can work as root booster. And Epsom salt as you said is magnesium sulphate. So any balanceed NPK fertiliser with micronutrient and trace elements ( zink, copper, molybdenum, magnesium, calcium etc) should be enough for orchid in low doses. Nothing else.
    Epsam salt is useful for other plants usually to reduce transplant shock. When I order succulents. I soak them in epsam salt, seaweed and trichoderma viridae for half an hour and dry them. Thanks.
