Hi, Selena! Thank you! However, I did not forget the clean barrier! Unlike Prometric, Pearson Vue and Credentia do not require the candidate to place a clean barrier on the overbed table.
I had no luck with Credentia. I tried to recertify in SC and submitted everything they requested and still did not certify me. I had given them a letter from my home state saying I had 135 training hours and a certificate and they would not. I even gave them my 2 associate degrees. I saw a lot of negative things about that company, cancelling testing dates last minute, and so fourth.

Nurse Jar. Thank you for answering my questions so quickly. I am a retired OB RN. for financial reasons I need to go back to work. I have a CNA position waiting for me in the OB unit where I worked. My concern is due to being older I cannot get up from a kneeling position, without using an arm for extra lift. this would fail me doing foot care.. i dont know if I should continue on and pray not to receive this skill. I am just waiting for a date to take the exam. I hope you have read this, and have some advice for me.
Hi, Amatullah! It all depends who you test under. If you test under Prometric, the acting candidate will be seated in a chair. If you test under Pearson Vue or Credentia, the acting resident will be lying in bed.
I swear all my other teachers rushed through it and we only got to demonstrate 1 time so I never took my exam cuz I was like I didn't get taught well so I gave up but you nurse jar you give me confidence. I'm retaking the class and going for the state exam right after

Washcloth 2 ~ Rinse genital area Washcloth 3 ~ Wash buttocks and anal areas Washcloth 4 ~ Rinse buttocks and anal areas Towel ~ You may use the same towel to dry both the genital and buttocks & anal areas. Just be sure to use a clean side for both regions.

I failed on this skill because I did dried the buttocks by dabbing instead of wiping. Is that correct or should I have been given credit for drying by dabbing as you did?
Good evening Nurse JAR. My brother funeral was pn sat February qqth and I had go take my state written exam on Monday the 13th n I passed. I have skills on the 18th which is this coming Sat. I am so nervous but I know I can do it and God has me. I just wanted to know if u can give me any pointers and if you have to put down clean barrier if not required and do steps have to be in order? I kno the critical element steps have to be in order and performed correctly?
Nurse jar, I'm watching two videos made by you amd somebody else amd the other person uses a bath blanket. is that something the NAEs will look for during the exam or do I not need to worry about it?
It can be either one. But if you get a towel it's big so you can flip it over to use it on the other side. If you get 2 rags you can use separate rags for both sides.
What I'm saying is this you must have 2 sets of gloves one set for the front peri area. And a second set for the back bottom you must change out your gloves then sanitize your hands in between glove changes. Real talk

You did not change your gloves out.. here in Missouri they want gloves on when doing front pari care. Then you must take off gloves sanitize hands with sanitize gel.. then you must put on. Clean gloves to wash pt bottom see in Missouri it's alot of crazy steps... but the way you did it was good but in Missouri the state people come in and say what you did was wrong so that's why we change gloves in-between the step.. that's how state make us do

We originally learned with 6 washcloths, at the end we were told 3, now im confused. I got it using 4 washcloths but 3, I dont get.

Washcloth 2 ~ Rinse genital area
Washcloth 3 ~ Wash buttocks and anal areas
Washcloth 4 ~ Rinse buttocks and anal areas
Towel ~ You may use the same towel to dry both the genital and buttocks & anal areas. Just be sure to use a clean side for both regions.

Hi, Olivia! Yes, you may, but you may be challenged with seeing how you're placing it and also trying to hold up the sheets and place the linen protector at the same time!

I failed on this skill because I did dried the buttocks by dabbing instead of wiping. Is that correct or should I have been given credit for drying by dabbing as you did?

I am so nervous but I know I can do it and God has me. I just wanted to know if u can give me any pointers and if you have to put down clean barrier if not required and do steps have to be in order? I kno the critical element steps have to be in order and performed correctly?

Shouldn't I use 2 towels? 1 for drying the front parts and another separate towel for the back parts? Or is 1 fine?
I have the same question. We were told to have two drying towels.
It can be either one. But if you get a towel it's big so you can flip it over to use it on the other side. If you get 2 rags you can use separate rags for both sides.
What I'm saying is this you must have 2 sets of gloves one set for the front peri area. And a second set for the back bottom you must change out your gloves then sanitize your hands in between glove changes. Real talk

You did not change your gloves out.. here in Missouri they want gloves on when doing front pari care. Then you must take off gloves sanitize hands with sanitize gel.. then you must put on. Clean gloves to wash pt bottom see in Missouri it's alot of crazy steps... but the way you did it was good but in Missouri the state people come in and say what you did was wrong so that's why we change gloves in-between the step.. that's how state make us do
