    Thanks so much for this. It feels like a green oasis in the desert of pixel peeping and gear obsessing that makes up so very much of the photographic content landscape. Yes, gear matters. This though is evergreen and so much more rewarding.

    It is rare to find on TH-cam any Channels or videos that are not fully concentrated on the gear, equipment or the technical aspects of video and/or photography. Although technical information is relevant, I found to be secondary compared to the vision, creative process and the inspiration process. I enjoyed to watch this video.
    I got the Grimsey Book when of my visit to the Island early July of this year. Cheers to the great county of Iceland.

    This is the best photography video I have ever watched. For me, it not only comes from a very deep understanding, love and understanding of creativity but a desire to teach. You guys are not only pundits (experts) but gurus (experts who can teach). Thank you for the real and honest insights into your work - it’s inspired me to go back out and try all the time. Your thoughts on fine art have also made me rethink my approach to photography. Lastly, I love the glimpses of Iceland. It’s the only place in the world that is similar to where I grew up (the Himalayas but without the sea) and I’d love to keep visiting for the rest of my life. Thank you again.

    What a generous testimony.... So inspiring to listen to you ... today, I am leaving with your definition of what is fine art but I will come back and watch this video over and over as as there are so many other messages and advices I need to take with me... I received your book "A photo guide to 100 Locations in Iceland" It is a truly a wonderful and indispensable resource... thanks for sharing so many of your secrets... I discovered you two through your bird/wildlife photography interest but I realize now thanks to this video that your art, creativity and talent have no limit!!! Congratulations to both of you for your accomplishments and your passion!

    Best photography video I've seen on youtube in a long time, and a great introduction to your work as well. I wholeheartedly agree with many of your points, especially about protecting the passion. That is very important for me and something I constantly consider. Also, "shipping beats perfection": We have a saying in Norway which I live by which is: "Det perfekte er det godes fiende". Roughly translated: "Perfection is the enemy of greatness". In a sense, I've always interpreted that saying like you two say, shipping beats perfection. Bob Dylan also said that "good artists borrow, great artists steal" but he probably stole that quote! hehe. Thanks for the video!

    Wonderful video and I love Iceland for wildlife photography. I like the way you change some of your photos to fine art prints so they look like paintings. Do you use filters for that or is it all done via photoshop? Thanks and great video.

      @@GudmannAndGyda Hallo again! In the video at time 4.00 there is a white-tailed eagle landing in the nest. I like that image and the technic with the birds I the middle and then white colour to the edge. Is that anything that you can show how to do in photoshop to get that result?? Best regards Hans-Olof

    Fantasic video. I've re-watched this multiple times to allow it to sink in. What is the name of the process used to remove some of the color and add a drawn feel to an image (10:00). The effect is stunning and a style I would love to experiment with in my own work

    • @GudmannAndGyda
      @GudmannAndGyda  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad it was helpful! The process is mostly done in PS by adding a layer where a pencil or a brush is used to paint the colors in with transparency.
