Try listening to The Chambers Brothers "Time Has Come Today" or The Strawberry Alarm Clock "Incense and Peppermints".

In the early 90's a bunch of us guys from the AFB hit a club in Destin, FL named Night Town looking for the ladies as usual and I was floored when Steppenwolf came on stage and opened with this this. We had no idea they would even be there.. It was usually newer up and coming groups.Sounded as good as 1967.
