Even though this wasn't the usual kinda GTN video I'm used to, I think it was the best I've seen. Reminded me a lot of something from Top Gear or The Grand Tour. Fantastically entering and some really great camera work. Thoroughly enjoyed every second!
I am a marathon runner and willing to participate in coming triathlon. I have no one around me to motivate and teach the technique. And I've recently came across your channel got subscribed and you guys are truly awesome. This is the best video of yours. Love from India.
I love when you guys (and gal) show us a truly raw experience, intermingled with a very professionally produced piece. It's been a pleasure to watch you grow and mature as a family, and it's been a pleasure to be a part of that family. Keep up the excellent work.
This is truly one of the most motivating videos on u tube .Right from the start i was glues well done to everyone even the camera and music crew job well done
I didn't like this video, I loved it. Doing an ironman relay with Mark not having run a marathon before, Fraser on a new bike, Heather without any proper swim training for months. What a brilliant, completely bonkers idea that not only was an awesome challenge but also showed so much of your personalities and how they gel as a team. To another year of this kind of awesome! Thanks guys!
How true for many of us... a start to race for a given position or time falls away and we race for the sheer satisfaction of finishing. Maybe feeling a bit disappointed having not captured a number, but grateful nonetheless to feel alive.
that was beautiful AND inspiring! I think that the biggest thing that made me get into triathlon was those powerful emotions that come with trying to get beyond our limits and often not getting there but still summon the will to keep pushing forward... happy new year everybody! cheers!
My first experiences of triathlon were in relay teams at 70.3 Mallorca. You really can't beat the buzz of working for and with others. Helps you when the enevitable tough periods set in and gives you amazing pride and energy to cheer on your team mates. Awesome video :-)
Nice to watch while I warm up before my indoor bike session . Good effort, now think of being 30 yrs older and doing all 3 yourself:) . 61 yrs old now, takes more time to recover and much easier to get injured , so training smarter over a longer period of time to peak is a must .
Thanks so much for this video! I did Lanzarote in 2007 and it brought back so many memories; and every IM I did after was, well - not easy, just not Lanzarote :-) Huge respect to you all!
Great video ! Perhaps it would be interesting to see how you guys would do after a training program to get prepped for the race! Keep it up , more challenges please !
Absolutely inspiring video. Thank you so much. Everyone out there doing 5k or marathons, recreative cycling fondos or competitive criterium, ocean-man competitions or just sprint triathlons, whatever it is that you are training for or doing, must watch this video. This video shows the effort, the sacrifice and the sadness and tiredness of training, and the regardless happiness you experience once you cross the finish line.
Thank you. Love this. Well done for completing and not throwing in the towel. The time nor record doesn’t matter. Would be good to see you try similar team outings at other Ironman, Challenge, or smaller events, varying distances, possibly swapping events around between you. GTN is so good and so motivational, don’t under estimate what you do for us subscribers. We are not worthy. Merry Christmas and all the best for you in 2019. Mark G, Southampton UK.
So great! I did triathlon for 10 years and drifted toward cycling because tri felt so solo. The idea of taking on a challenge like this as a team is super motivational. I am going to try to start a team. Thank you so much for this example.
Can’t believe Mark has never run a marathon. And no way can he DNF after the New Guy kills himself on the 🚴🏼. This video has rightly received lots of praise. You should make this a staple of your content. Maybe once a month. Even 1/2 courses would be good, maybe even better since more people do 1/2s than Fulls. People do these courses-you can show them what to expect. Maybe have a video on a course about a month before the actual race. You can have your product placement. Each presenter gets in a good workout. This is a really informative format with all sorts of upside.
Team GTN, much respect for each of you! Your athletic success and teachings have inspired me towards my own goals. Thanks and continued success to you.
Oh dear, 'morning Heather' is a grumpy bum bum! Great video guys, really enjoying the 'challenge' videos - you seem to work together well as a presenting team.
Great video. I’ve ridden a lot on that island and it can be brutal. The hills are bad, the wind is very tough but the wind stops you from feeling the heat and sucks the energy from you. It’s no wonder the guys suffered so much. Well done.
Well done everyone. It was a huge mountain to defeat, trying to beat that record. never the less this was great inspiration and Love the format. Looking forward to more challenges like this.
Is it just me or Heather of 6:18 looked like an all different Heather? She looks more ... you know ... ! For sure I found a new perspective on GTN now! Bravo for all you guys... You keep us motivated!
Been watching you guys since day 1 and this has to be your best one yet . Or a close 1st with your Lionel sanders interview . Keep up the good work and merry Xmas x
I did Lanza 70.3 last weekend and the bike course was brutal. The climbs were manageable but for an amateur cyclist, it was the crosswinds during the descents that got to me. Still managed to finish but I'm not looking to race in Lanza until I get better on the bike.
The fact that 3 athletes can’t beat what one athlete made alone make me think how much was outstanding that record and that performance.
And three *triathletes* at that!

the "lead male" sign got me

I know you were a world class athlete, but we would have hated you Mark if you ran a 2:47 with no training for your first time haha.
Huge thumbs up 👍🏼 loved the Lead Male sign on the assistance bike 😄
Appreciate what have you done mark. when you remembered two friends have worked hard so you have to finish it.
All of you are amazing
Excellent video. Really puts into perspective just how fast these pro times are.
Love this, racing with your mates always feels special.
respect Mark for grittin youre teeth what a team player..............

that was beautiful AND inspiring!

I loved that you guys did this self supported and not during an actual event...showed the true spirit of IM distance racing...brilliant

Awesome video! Loved it! Glad Mark stuck it out and finished the run. Glad to see the “never give up. Never quit” mentality message was delivered.
Great challenge! :D
You could do a Team Triathlon at a 70.3 Event and try to break the record there? :D
Great video guys, after the equipe becoming a trio more top gear-esque tasks are expected
Ambitious but rubbish
top gear ? no thanks

Toby, yes well spotted, mornings have never been my thing!
Great video. I’ve ridden a lot on that island and it can be brutal.

Well done.
Great video love the challenge and would enjoy some more challenges. Great job.

This actually almost made me wanna cry
Is it just me or Heather of 6:18 looked like an all different Heather? She looks more ... you know ... ! For sure I found a new perspective on GTN now! Bravo for all you guys... You keep us motivated!
What an epic episode! Best one yet. Super inspiring.
That was fantastic!! Great work to the three of you!

super cool! you guys are the best!
Really great story and it kept me company during some of my Zwift session 👌
This was so awesome, please do more in future!
I also wonder if there is an event with a mixed team relay time that you could aim for?
You guys are such an inspiration !!!
Great video and a very humbling experience when we compare ourselves to the best triathletes out there.
Great video and great channel. Keep it going!
Great effort, not bad considering you had trafic to contend with unlike a closed circuit with Marshall support & feed stations etc.
really entertaining video! loved the challenge
Awesome. Best GTN vid ever 👌👌👌🔥🔥🔥
Your channel literally changed my life! And triathlon life too hahaha
Thanks!
Well done Team, love your content, not sure if I would have done a 50km Bike warm up prior to my first Marathon 🤔
Hero's very motivational also! I like you three doing this more often!
Thank you guys, great video. You showed dedication and some pain too :-)
You guys are awesome, though in the true spirit of ironman - you are your only real competition. Go back this or next year and BEAT your times!!
Would love to see you guys do a series to do this and nail it, similar to the hour bike record type series
Really enjoyed this one, well done guys!
Loled during the "sticky bottle" moments. 😀
Greatest video I have seen SO FAR! COngratulations nonetheless 💕
Impressive to motivate yourself to do that challenge. Great video 👌
Amazing spirit and effort. Inspiring 👍

now we need GTN vs GTN Fans ;)
This video is an absolute gem
Beautiful scenery! Love Lanzarote.
