I picked one up at king Soopers on Saturday they were 30$ I currently own 3 large beauties and now this baby I just love Thais they are stunners and very easy to care for. Loved this sale it’s about time!
They hit the Louisville KY market last Friday. Everyone in my local FB plant groups was going crazy last weekend, lol. I finally repotted mine today, and surprisingly, the roots weren't horrible.
8/17/24 I guess I missed them at my Walmart in Florence SC so I ordered from their website & it was $39 plus shipping due today FedEx 8/21/24 glad I saw your video ✔️🫶🏽
I’m in Greenville- Walmart on Pelham Rd had them $29.99. I’ve had mine a few months and she’s given me 3 new leaves. Right now they have none. The Walmart on Woodruff rd in Greenville- the have the Monstera Green Galaxy (Peru) and the mini Swiss cheese monstera which I picked up for $10 because it had 4 yellow leaves and the garden manager marked it 50% off.
When I got my Thai Constellation I eventually repot it into Pafcal Chips. The roots just want crazy growing and it works really well. I water it with hydroponic nutrient water since and it is loving life.
I’m in Murfreesboro, TN. I was able to get my TC @ Home Depot July 8, for $29. It has 5 leaves and one leaf has some fenestrations. I plan to repot soon with a more airy mix. 1st house plant I’ve ever bought and I’m alittle nervous about keeping it healthy ☺️
I wish Canada would get on board with this. Some big box stores did have em for $35 but i havent found one. Nursuries still tryin to sell 4inch pots for 69.99. Pfft not my $😅
When you find one you'll love it so much!! But if you're good with plantlets you can get 1 on Orange lake nursery right now I believe they're only $16 right now! Of course you'll have to acclimate it when you receive it but it's actually not as hard as I thought I'd be especially if you do good research!! Good luck!!
I got my 5 inch Monstera Thai Constellations for $5 - they were discounted due to a little sunburn. They had some brown spots but the roots looked good so I'll give it a go in saving them. :D
I picked up one in Ft Collins and now it’s under its own light and I’m watching plant TH-cam. Mine has a couple of flaws on the leafs but a new leaf is just starting to appear!
I just found one at Walmart in CO Springs! $40. Quite a bit larger than the Kroger ones and mine had a LOT of healthy roots! Newest leaf even had a few fenestrations!
I got 3 amazing ones for $29 each from Kroger. Roots were huge! Coming through the cup already. Also got 3 Florida ghosts for $29 each as well… my local nursery has each for $129… couldnt be happier.
My local Wal-Mart in Wisconsin had 2 shipments this spring in 5" ceramic pots for $39. Both sold out within a week. I found only the second shipment & saw about 15. I never paid $40 for a houseplant, so I went home to research pros & cons. They were all gone when I returned 6 days later. However, I found that I could order one from Wal-Mart online with free shipping. I regretted not buying one when I had many from which to choose, but the plant I ordered on Wednesday arrived on Friday packaged well, undamaged & with nice variegations! It seems to be in total coir, but my moisture meter registered Dry, the plant intercepted by me before it could be drenched in Wal-Mart. I gave it several hours of artificial light. Tomorrow, I will look at the roots & consider transplantation into a medium like your recipe. The online price has now increased to $50 sans ceramic pot.
Hi New to your channel I just got three Thai from Kroger two days ago they were so wet did a quick soil change and it's in quarantine for now But I want bigger and more established plant I have been waiting so long for the price to come down and were almost there. I'm nuts about this plant❤😊
Got mine for $40 at Home Depot in Denver on Santa Fe! $10 more than yours but came with multiple fenestrated leaves, and a good bit bigger. Found about a month and a half ago.
$24.99 for a 4" Thai from BWH PlantCo. It's cheap for locals (there's a local pickup option)! I don't remember where they're situated at though..I always just order my plants from them because they have really good picks! Got a couple Alocasia Frydeks (variegated) 2" for only about 20$ each. Each one I received had amazing variegation compared to Etsy shops where it was reviewed as having low-to no-variegation sometimes or, at this point, is over-priced.
Do you have a link for the clear pots you use for your plants? Thanks. No I do not have a Thai but I am not wanting one either. I am out of room for any more larger sized plants. :(
Hi, I'm a newbie, and I'm so glad to have come across your channel. What is that powder that you sprinkled on the monstera roots? Thanks for the great content!
I picked one up yesterday. Ours here in Colorado were very small compared to the 2ft tall ones I saw in Texas. But thrilled to finally have one. Where do you get your chunky perlite from? I’d rather get large pumice but I haven’t found any reasonable priced
@@PlantswithKevin I’m an hour north of Denver but will keep it in mind. I’m looking for stores in the surrounding Denver areas that sell Hoyas. Do you know of any?
I found them at my local Kroger store. They were very small and didn’t look healthy. All of the plants I’ve seen the TH-camrs purchase were larger and very healthy looking.
Hi Kevin, I have two of them. The first one I put under a grow light and it produced nice fenestrations and grew quite large. The other one I picked up a couple months ago. Question for you. I also have a west facing window. I am in northern Ontario Canada and I’ve moved that one constellation from under a grow light to closer to a west face window. Does yours ever get direct sun on it, and if so, how does it handle the sun? thanks
Thanks for sharing! I’m about to find out lol the sun is just starting to shift more brightly into my western facing window where it sits. So I’m going to monitor it daily!
Thanks Kevin I meant your larger one or did you mean that as well :) thanks for your videos I have my set up just like yours as far as watering goes with the juice container and the fish fertilizer which yes my plants love but my house smells like a fish shack/wet dog lol I also light my candles@@PlantswithKevin
I'm in Calhoun, Georgia. About an hour and a half away from Atlanta and I've found them in my Kroger yesterday. Happened to come across this video tonight on TH-cam. @@leafyfins.
Just curious, is there any smell from the fish fertilizer? I usually use worm castings and other organic fertilizer like kelp meal, feather meal ect. But I’ve never tried fish fertilizer even though I hear great things because I’m concerned my house will smell like dead fish and dirty fish tank,😂 lol. Does it have a smell and if so, how strong is it? Thanks in advance.
Good question! Not at all. Initially when you pour a bit into the water, but once you water the plant, you can't smell it at all. :-) It's just the bottle that smells haha
I always feel like it takes about a year for these sorts of plant deals to pop up in Canada and the UK after they appear in the U.S.. Not sure why, but I've noticed that with other rare plants.
You have to look into ENDO mychorzial fungi! I have never seen anything like it! I sprinkled a layer on top of the soil in one prop box and not the other . The roots in the Myco box were thick and short and strong and the other were long and stringy and weak. They grew faster bigger and healthy! I have never seen anything like it! This Thai con could benefit! It prevents root rot!
Also to propagate try making an airoid ball with sp miss and steam wrap get it damp and pack it around 2-3 nodes and tape it on keep it damp and wait a few months. You can grow roots before cutting to ensure success!
Actually mycorrhizae works really good too!! You can find it at Lowe's with the veggie seeds it comes in a little pack like veggie seeds come in!! Works so wonderfully!! Wish I could post a picture for you guys but it won't allow me to!
I just bought mine yesterday for 75 dollars. I am now searching for how I need to take care of her. She is a bit larger than yours right now. Where can I buy the soil that you use? And fertilizer?
I’m so glad you posted this video! I was at Soopers in Denver Metro last week and they just put out the display. At first I thought they pothos am when I took a closer look my jaw hit the floor! Called my plant friend and scooped two! I’ll repot it this weekend and it’s under a light! Exciting is an understatement!
So, the peroxide dilution is fine but please don’t use dish soap on the roots or any part of your plant. The dish soap is very harsh and contains strong chemicals that will burn the roots and foliage. The soap is really not necessary for a root soak, but if you want to use soap on your plant, pure Castile soap is great when diluted with water for a leaf spray. The Castile soap does not contain sulfates or other harsh detergents, it’s more of an emollient cleanser and it’s much more natural. I also think that pot was a bit large considering the size of the root mass and I think if there are any beginners watching this video they are in danger of overwatering and rotting the plant, though considering all your lovely plants I’m sure you’ll do just fine with the watering. Happy planting 🌱🌿🪴
