Even if it is semi-unplugged, it is a lesson in how music should be performed. George Michael is among the greatest to me. Amazing. By the way, listen to that song as well. 🙂
That was a huge album wasn't it? I remember it being everywhere. Fastlove seems to be the only one I recognise from the tracklisting, I remember seeing that video a lot. Didn't do much for me back then but I bet I'd love it now!
@@bridgethegapreactions Tommy Mottola (Mariah's ex-husband) ruined the careers of Michael Jackson and George Michael (at least in the US). He also drove Mariah crazy and almost ruined her career. People in the US are unaware of "Older" for the most part. I believe the trouble with Mottola and Sony started around 1991 when George didn't want to appear in artwork and videos for the album, "Listen Without Prejudice". There are videos of Michael Jackson calling Mottola "The Devil".
George is pure perfection. I have yet to ever hear him sing a bad note live which is incredible when you think about it. All the songs in this unplugged session are amazing. The most popular is his cover of the song, "I Can't Make You Love Me". For my money it is one of the most beautiful but heartbreaking lyrics I have ever listened to. When you see George perform this song, you know (or should I say, you feel) he has been through the emotion himself. His performance is truly breathtaking.
George Michael is arguably the greatest musician of his era. He was in every lane musically, his stuff integrated music from the 50s and 60s. And he did it all by himself. Think about Wake me up Before you Go Go. That was single handedly made by George Michael at the age of 20-21, with a Motown feel. Incredible artist.
His voice is clear as a bell. I remember seeing him at Wembley and he just belted out song after song for over 2 hours. This was later in his career and he still sounded amazing. Rest in peace, George.
This is one of my favourite live performances from George, his ability to seemingly do whatever he wants with his voice is astonishing to me. You Have Been Loved is another great one from this Unplugged show and of course his version of I Can't Make You Love Me is from this show was sublime.
George was a genius with a voice to die for, never had singing lessons just pure talent, i adore him you have so many more songs to go, he can't sit still even sitting and his band and singers are amazing ❤️
I can assure you that every song at this concert is worth listening to. So before you listen to Freedom'90, Fast Love or Father Figure in the original, listen to the unplugged version and his cover version of the Bonnie Raitt song I Can't Make You Love Me is incredible.
So happy you’re reacting to a lot more George because he is truly an amazing performer. Looking forward to seeing your whole Unplugged reaction-the whole show is stellar! Try “Everything She Wants” for another teaser 😊
Jesus to a Child is one of my all time favorites from him. Anything from the Older album is a masterpiece. He goes deep on that album. He wrote it after the love of his life died, and it has a melancholy, reflective tone. I think you would really appreciate it.
Thanks so much Jonny you answered my prayer by this reaction. Another standout MTV Unplugged vocal has got to be George's cover of "I can't make you love me" one of his most emotional songs by far. BTW his Mum was in the audience for that MTV appearance and George was quoted as saying he was especially pleased with his performance that day! Peace :)
Every performance of his from this MTV Unplugged is awesome. This particular song is off of his album titled Older, which is probably my favorite GM album. Not a single bad track on the entire album. Thanks for posting! ✌🏻👍🏻✌🏻
So awesome! Oh my word he is incredible. You really need to listen to more live performances even with Wham. If you don't have your children involved in music and or choir you really need to get them involved. It is worth it for them to learn an instrument and how to sing. Even if they are terrible at singing or playing an instrument there is so much more to learn that they will take with them the rest of their lives.
He is magical! I bought this single when it came out. The other versions he has on that single are fantastic! The lyrics take such a dig at the “star people” . He spoke his mind. He was fearless.
You have plenty of options from his MTV unplugged, but I’d go with either Jesus to a child, his cover of I can’t make you love me or praying for time, which will also show you he was an artist whose lyrics were much deeper than you thought.
This whole show is absolutely flawless (no pun intended) but if you want to react to one thing Johnny - give his masterpiece album ‘Listen Without Prejudice, Vol 1’ a listen - it’s truly outstanding from start to finish. 🙌🏻 Simply our finest vocalist we ever produced. Not to mention songwriter and musician.
Great reaction! The whole performance is amazing, but stand out for me are Praying for Time and I Can't Make You Love Me. Would love to see your reaction to those two!
2 lines that I think are specifically targeted at Madonna... "Maybe your daddy didn't love you enough, girl" and "Do you have a little tale to tell?". The first line of Madonna's "Live To Tell" is "I have a tale to tell".
If you haven’t already seen it, his greatest live performance was several years earlier, again on MTV, when he performed Freedom 90 - I think with many of the same excellent long time backing singers! th-cam.com/video/qsmt6UdpmvA/w-d-xo.html
I understand you saying you’re now getting to appreciate George now, he and Andrew together as Wham! were massive when I was a teenager although being a bloke at that time the last thing you’d admit to is liking Wham! A big no-no. A few years later around ‘87 I think it was and George’s debut solo album went stratospheric worldwide and seriously do yourself a favour bro, get s copy. That album was called Faith which was one of the singles it spawned, there were around 6 or 7 singles released from it. The album was massive particularly in the USA where if memory serves it shifted around 20 million copies, around 10 mill in the UK to say the least. He never really managed to repeat that but a lot of that was down to his perception at least that his record company weren’t invested in promoting him or didn’t give him the creative licence to produce the music he wanted to. He had s nasty drawn out court battle with his record company when they wouldn’t let him walk away from his contract and at one point there was an injunction stopping him from recording anything under his own name. His mates Elton John & Queen helped out there recording live records with guest singer GM. 😊 He recorded a live performance of Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me with EJ and Somebody To Love with Queen
Masterclass, no modern day singer comes even close. Singer/Composer/Performer
I love George Michael ❤ Iconic voice
THIS ENTIRE SHOW BY HIM WAS SUPURB!!! HIS LIVE PERFORMANCE IS PERFECTION!
He was the greatest male vocalist. You can see his impact and stature that he's had reached when you watch him live in London (2008)
I would invite you to react to "Kissing a Fool" and "please send me someone to love" ...
Even if it is semi-unplugged, it is a lesson in how music should be performed. George Michael is among the greatest to me. Amazing. By the way, listen to that song as well. 🙂
Hey jonny, check out george performing " if you were my woman" at the Nelson Mandela concert, absolutely phenomenal vocal
Ah… George’s Older album. A masterpiece. That voice was golden velvet. One in a million.
That was a huge album wasn't it? I remember it being everywhere. Fastlove seems to be the only one I recognise from the tracklisting, I remember seeing that video a lot. Didn't do much for me back then but I bet I'd love it now!

Spinning the Wheel is a brilliant track - would love to see you do that one from the Older album.
@@dtaylor939 Let's not forget Rupert Murdock! Remember what he did to George! His poisonous venom spews even more! 🤮
His cover of I Can't Make You Love Me is my favourite from this performance.

God what a voice!!! George is SO MISSED.
HIS UNPLUGGED IS AMAZING!!!!
The whole session is unbelievable. George, you were and are loved and missed.

Killer/ Papa was a rolling stone is one of his best life performances.Worth checking!!
Jesus to a child is unbelievably good

The whole unplugged session is perfection...but that's George for you 💜
The band and singers are superb!

He's a force of nature!
More George please
These lytics is perfection, like the voice, the production! All is perfection in this!
Do George with Aretha Franklin
"I knew you were waiting for me!"

My very favorites , George Michael and Steely Dan . Masters of music !!
Entire unplugged is absolutely fantastic! I can watch it over and over again.
Johnny, you need to react to “ I can’t make you love me “ unplugged, it will blow your mind.
He is amazing what he sings. Doesn't matter video or unplugged there is no difference in his voice. More Unplugged please
This performance was next level! I’ve always loved it.
You should react to George's performance at the Concert of hope, 1993. Just incredible !

Amazing as usual. You should react to the following for George
1. FREEEK! (music video) 2. TONIGHT (live Rock in Rio 1st Show January 1991)
I hate that they censored when he sings the word "fuck"
