Hi Rebecca! I bought the finished verison of the Kiwi 3 so I just had to assemble it. The assembly was fairly simple, though I do suggest reading the directions carefully. If you're spinning multiple hours per week then I would add a bit of oil once a week. If the wheel has been sitting without use for a while add some oil to tune it up before starting to spin.
