Hearing Iizuka speak English blew my mind. Of course he knows English but we never see him speak it besides the basic thank you’s and such.
Game Informer has a pretty fun video interview from before Frontiers release where Iizuka speaks English pretty frequently throughout
@@dmk_ythis English must’ve gotten better. I’ve been watching interviews with him for years and I can’t think of him speaking in full sentences like that. Iizukas a cool guy.

Generations is arguably the perfect game for newcomers to come in & experience all of what sonic has to offer, you have the traditional boost gameplay with gens sonic, classic sonic gameplay, & the present day boost & open zone gameplay that people can get into, with each of these gameplay styles there's different games people can get if they want more, for classic there's mania, origins & superstars, for open zone there's frontiers, & for boost there's colors ultimate & forces

Honestly Sam, not everybody played og generations 60 fps on 4k with mods, collecting Chao and see them follow Sonic around the stages is already enough for me 100% Sonic generations again.

Was very nice to see a good number of people in the chat who liked Lost World. Say what you will about it, I really liked that game and its 3ds version (except for the special stages on that one), I really like the Deadly Six I think they're simple but fun villains and I'm glad SEGA hasn't just thrown them in the garbage to be forgotten because some people hate them for ridiculous reasons, and I just found the levels fun overall.
As much as I've always REALLY wanted an answer to how the Eggmans escaped the white space and I'm ngl I do wish they let Ian answer it, I respect Izuka wanting it to be left up to the players imagination. It wasn't some cop out answer either, if they didn't always want it to just be left up for interpretation they would've just let Ian change the ending and explain it. In fact I feel like in Shadow Generations there will be hints to how one can escape the white space but just leave it vague as to whether that's how the Eggmans escaped. That other thing Izuka said about there being 3D and 2D in Shadow's campaign, unless proven otherwise I do not believe at all that there will be any fully 2D levels. Just 2D sections mixed with 3D along with fully 3D ones.
Pretty sure in base Gens Act 1 was always the fully 2D stage with Classic Sonic and we've already seen an Act 1 of Shadow's campaign and it's fully 3D lol. Even if there are fully 2D levels, there's still plenty of interesting stuff they can do with the Chaos Control and Doom power mechanics. I'm very excited to see how they design all the levels around them.
I legitimately love Sonic Lost World (gameplay wise)
One of my favorite Sonic games. I get why people don’t like the story, but I feel like the game is a bit overhated. It’s REALLY fun.
@@mehiloll I don't get it and never will tbh. It's a simple story yeah ofc but simple doesn't equal bad. It has flaws definitely but overall was a great simple story. I agree that it is overhated tho and again nice to hear someone else who actually likes it.

The Sonic Stadium interview was barely even about Sonic X Shadow Generations, what the interview was supposed to be for lol. Kinda feel awkward for Iizuka.
You gotta take the chances you get especially with a franchise that only started to communicate with its fanbase last year in a thirty year old franchise.

tbh I want to see more new games with new levels like in superstars and dream team or HD remaster of unused levels before like in shadow gens, frontiers had a few like that cool underground tunnel in ares or the crazy speed highway cyberspace, but most of the open zone areas are borderline generic and empty, I was expecting to run around, interact and get quests while seeing all the cool little details of characters life in starfall islands. Frontiers is still a great game to me, hope they continue and improve the dmc open zone style more cuz thats my most favourite 3D sonic style, and make better levels which shadow gens give me great signs

Also 1:03:45 …I don’t agree with this. This feels gate keepy as if casual gamers shouldn’t play a part in the demand of Sonic, when their criticisms matter too (Ever since the Sonic movie we’ve literally been praising them for being apart of our community…so this statement comes off as hypocritical.) Hardcore fans may want Unleashed or weirdly a redo of Sonic 06, but other people have VERY valid reasons for not wanting to tread those grounds again. Trying to invalidate their opinions by essentially saying “you’re not a real fan” is a lazy take. Dig deeper.
