I just got my Niteangel wheel and it has a hard time spinning. It will spin but will stop shortly after I spin it. Do you know how to adjust it to make it run smoother?
Hi! I have not had that issue with any of my Niteangel wheels (and I have many!) but according to Amazon reviews, they have great customer service. I would reach out to them, wherever you purchased- Amazon or their website I’m assuming?
Hi! Thanks for watching! The price for the wheel on the Niteangel website is at or around $30 although of course this could be different depending on your location and when you buy! Price is pretty comparable to other wheels I think, even those that are less quality.
Hi, does your 12 inch silent runner get loose like every 30 minutes and then you have to get up and tighten the screw because the wheel gets wobbly and loud? I want to know because this is my problem so I dont know if its just mine or all of the silent runners. I need another wheel so I dont know if I should get a silent runner again
Hi! I do sometimes have this problem- I have another video about the silent runners you’ll see I mention it. I think in time I’ve gotten better at getting the tension just right and checking before I went to bed. Steven (shown in this video) has both the Niteangel super silent wheel and the 12” silent runner. I still wake up at 3 am every once in a while, and if it happens I just remove that wheel, he still has the other one. I can’t figure out fully why it happens, sometimes it’s fine and sometimes it clicking and clanking, sometimes I tighten it and it’s still noisy! I think I’ve probably gotten accustomed to sleeping through the noise. I would recommend you try the Niteangel super silent wheel- I definitely have had no issues with this wheel. Good luck! 🍀
Hello, I was wondering if this would attach to a metal cage or does it have to be on the base? My daughter's syrian hamster is pretty big and a loud runner lol. Hoping to see if this will work for him, thanx!
Hi there! I did some Amazon review research and it looks like some people have attached it to the Prevue 528 without any issue and left rave reviews, so I’d say, yes! Although I do personally prefer the base, since it’s easy to lift the wheel out of the cage to clean it. 🧼 For a Syrian I would suggest the size L, 12” wheel. Good luck! 🍀
@@veronicab7260 hi! Very long reply but I remembered this question and then I myself am now trying to attach it to a cage so I can travel to visit my family... I can’t get it to work! I feel badly I told you it does work! Did you find any tricks? It’s like the screw threads stop too soon so you can’t get it flush with the bars. I suppose I could attach it to the cage with the base attached too- is this what you did?
Hello, that's ok I was still able to make it work for my Daughter's cage. But the cage is a double with a glass tank as the bottom level and the metal part is on the top level. So what I did was secure it to the bottom part of the glass cage using 2 velcro command strips so it won't tip, and for easy removal while cleaning. It is working out perfectly this way, still quiet and he loves it. I hope this helps!
@@veronicab7260 oh great, I’m so glad you found a solution! Now that I’ve been looking into it it’s not that easy to mount a wheel. You can do it with silent runners but seems like the success of this is varied. I actually realized the Prevue Quiet Wheel works great mounted on a wire cage, in case you ever need to do that in the future!
I was looking for a new wheel for my Syrian! I have an exotic nutrition one but it comes loose and wobbles all night and the metal scrapes so this will be perfect!
Ugh I know!! Mine does that too :/. Although a viewer just suggested yesterday to try using some sealant to keep it from coming unscrewed, I think I’ll try this! Did you see there is now a size L and XL coming soon for the Niteangel wheel? Perfect for Syrians! Yay!
@@abbyfuentes3645 hi! I got a size M/10” (this is the one shown in the video). For Syrians the size L/12” is best, M/10” might work for a small, male Syrian (but is less preferred). I believe a few colors are available in L currently!
I bought the small wheel my little dwarf has been using it for a couple of days now. She seems to like it, but I noticed every now and then she flips in it. What does the flipping mean? Does she need a bigger wheel?
Hmm, that’s a great question! In my opinion and experience, I notice that if I give a flipping hamster a larger wheel, they flip less or not at all. On the “flip” side, I think there’s also a learning curve for any new wheel and she may just need the time to figure out how to control her speed and how to slow down when she’s done running. The size small/8” size you have is definitely big enough for a dwarf (except a Chinese hamster), but every ham is different! Can I ask, is she young? What size was her previous wheel?
Yes, she (Cinnamon) is very young, I just got her about 2 1/2 weeks ago from Petco, she is a DJ. I gave her at first the Kaytee silent spinner and the blue flying saucer. Petco uses the yellow flying saucer. I wanted to get her a better wheel, so I upgraded her. (I removed the flying saucer too, with her speed I was worried she would fly right off of it) Thank you for your response, hubby too said that he thought she just needed to get used to it, but it makes me feel better hearing it from a more experienced hamster mommy.
@@cavy5300 aww good! I hope she gets the hang of it soon! I think young hams show their age when it comes to wheel use. I also have that blue disc (7.25”) I use sometimes for play time, depending on the ham (some hams can handle it, some can’t and are too crazy!), I think it’s nice for variety as long as the size is right and they can be safe :)
I’m also trying to potty train my dwarf djungarian hamster. How I do it, is I use a small plastic sauce dish, about less than an inch high, and put a little bit of his bedding that he has peed on in the dish and clean bedding also. The old bedding is so that he knows the smell and will continually pee there. And the new bedding is so that his fur isn’t coated in pee when he leaves the dish. I would recommend washing the dish daily, but keep a few pieces of his old bedding from the dish, so he remembers the smell and will continue to use the dish. I’ve been trying for a couple weeks and the results are pretty good!! Hope it helps
You *can* attach it to a cage but the base has to remain attached, it doesn’t work without the base. So to me, it’s silly to attach unless you’re worried about it tipping over. Tbh I’ve found very few wheels that work well with cages, they all rattle the bars and are loud. If sound is not a worry I would go with the Silent Runner from Exotic Nutrition, 12” for a Syrian, 9” should work for most dwarves and robo’s (although I have one robo on the 12” size). The Kaytee Silent Spinner in 10” or 12” also works well in a cage. You’ll need the Prevue 528 or a similarly sized cage, the other cages sold in the US are too short for a 12” wheel unfortunately 😿 Hope this helps! What kind of hamster & cage do you have?
Hi! Contrary to popular hamster belief, hamsters actually need large wheels. For robos (like the hamster in this video, the smallest type of hamster) the smallest wheel you’d want to use is 8” in diameter. For Syrian hamsters (“teddy bear” hamsters) you’ll want to use a 12” or larger. Hamsters must have a straight back when running on their wheel, if their wheel is too small and they have to arch their back they will be in a lot of pain and may have more serious back injuries over time.
Wow! I have not had this, you have a crafty hamster! I suppose my tip would be to get one of those OXO toothbursh like dish cleaners, I use this thing for every thing hard to clean, I bet it could get in there- amzn.to/3a1cVg7 Good luck!! Let me know how it goes!
I was wondering about that! Is there any kind of gap between the coloured part and the clear running part? I always worry about gaps for toes getting caught. It looks like a pretty smooth finish and no gaps on the video but then if poop can get stuck there must be a bit of a gap?
Hi! I’m not a hedgehog 🦔 owner but I believe 12” is an appropriate wheel size for hedgehogs. You could also look into Carolina Storm Wheels, they are sold on Etsy and we’re developed for hedgehogs 💕 I am seeing two positive reviews on Amazon from hedgehog owners (and no negative reviews) so you should be in luck! 🍀
Thanks! You know I think I finally figured it out- my hams need a small hide in their sand bath 🛀 and then that becomes the potty. Have you found that? It hasn’t slowed down the wheel peeing I don’t think 🤔 but maybe has helped to keep their nest clean...
Hi! I read some Amazon reviews and photos and there are many Syrians using the size m, 10” wheel (I believe this is also bc they didn’t have a size L in the beginning). Some people commented that they felt it was too small for their Syrians (it does look a little cramped). Some Syrians looked okay. I think this really depends on the size of your ham- I believe female Syrians are bigger, so if you have a female you probably can’t go with 10”. I understand the reserve about the color though! As an alternative I would recommend the Silent Runner 12” Glow, this one is somewhat neutral (although it does glow in the dark!) I just checked Amazon and the size L Niteangel is available in people, green and brown! You could also get a Kaytee Comfort Wheel, 12” (almost half the price!) while you wait for your color to come back in stock! Not silent but safe for your Syrian! I always like to have a back up wheel for play time or just in case anyway :) I hope this helps! Good luck! 🍀
Hi! Hmm I’m pretty sure it did come put together, although it’s only the wheel, stand ans the screws and washers holding it together. I don’t believe it attaches to a wire cage specifically but you might be able to attach it.. I think using the base is best though, it’s really sturdy and well balanced
Hi! I have a question. Right now I have another plastic wheel from a danish brand, but i need to put food oil in the center to make it run more smooth (I don’t know if the right word for that is the axle, but I hope you understand) ☺️ I would like another wheel where I doesn’t have to put oil in the center. So my question is: Do you have to do this to this wheel once in a while? Or does it just run smooth all the time? I hope it makes sense 😬
Hi 🙋♀️ Rikke, thanks for your comment! I haven’t had to put any food oils on this to make it run smooth yet, I do know what you mean. I have only had this wheel for about 2-3 months so far, but I’ll let you know if I run into that! How long did you have that wheel before you had to oil it?
Hi! So sorry, it sounds like large is out of stock, but I’m sure it will come back! Large is 12” Medium is 10” Small is 8” For a Syrian, size L/12” is preferable. Medium/10” might be okay if they are a small Syrian. 8” /small is too small for a Syrian. Hope this helps!

Hi! Thanks for watching! The price for the wheel on the Niteangel website is at or around $30 although of course this could be different depending on your location and when you buy! Price is pretty comparable to other wheels I think, even those that are less quality.
Ok cool thanks
What size do you use? small or large?
I have the size “Medium” - 10”
I haven’t seen “large” for sale but I hope they add it! 🤞
Good luck! 🍀
hello! question, i have the same wheel and my syrian keeps climbing up behind the wheel...how can i stop him from doing this?
Hello, I was wondering if this would attach to a metal cage or does it have to be on the base? My daughter's syrian hamster is pretty big and a loud runner lol. Hoping to see if this will work for him, thanx!
Hi there! I did some Amazon review research and it looks like some people have attached it to the Prevue 528 without any issue and left rave reviews, so I’d say, yes! Although I do personally prefer the base, since it’s easy to lift the wheel out of the cage to clean it. 🧼
For a Syrian I would suggest the size L, 12” wheel.
Good luck! 🍀
Awesome thank you so much. I love your videos & your hamsters too! 😊
Yay!
Yes!! I checked Amazon and the large won’t be in stock for a while but I’m keeping my eyes out😊
I have the light blue 10 inch one is great! I wanted the 12 inch but they were out of stock. Unfortunately they are out of stock a lot of the times
I know they fly off the Amazon shelves! I’m glad you were able to get one ☝️- do you have a dwarf or a Syrian?
@@RachelGotHamsters syrian..the 10inch is ok i dont see her back curving but I'm sure she would be more comfortable with a 12inch...
@@yolandag8436 well, you can always buy an alternate in the future! And 10” is still a respectable size 😊
@@RachelGotHamsters what size did you get? cuz on amazon it says small medium large but i don’t know what to pick for my syrian
@@abbyfuentes3645 hi! I got a size M/10” (this is the one shown in the video). For Syrians the size L/12” is best, M/10” might work for a small, male Syrian (but is less preferred). I believe a few colors are available in L currently!
Do I get the small or med for dwarf hammies?
I ordered a small for my winter white bc it is 8 inches:)
@@kyleighelmore1212 ok ty that should be perfect for there current habitat,
I recommend having baby wipes on hand and just wipe their wheels in between washing. They all pee in the wheel even when potty trained
Oh great idea! Hehe yes, now that it’s been some time I see, some hamsters just pee in their wheels (I have two wheel pee-ers, two non wheel pee-ers).
I’ll try this! Where did you get your dish?
@@RachelGotHamsters I don’t remember but you could probably try target or Walmart 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Can u attach the wheel straight to a cage or does it need to be on a stand?
You *can* attach it to a cage but the base has to remain attached, it doesn’t work without the base. So to me, it’s silly to attach unless you’re worried about it tipping over.
Tbh I’ve found very few wheels that work well with cages, they all rattle the bars and are loud. If sound is not a worry I would go with the Silent Runner from Exotic Nutrition, 12” for a Syrian, 9” should work for most dwarves and robo’s (although I have one robo on the 12” size).
The Kaytee Silent Spinner in 10” or 12” also works well in a cage.
You’ll need the Prevue 528 or a similarly sized cage, the other cages sold in the US are too short for a 12” wheel unfortunately 😿
Hope this helps! What kind of hamster & cage do you have?
Why are they so big? Are there any small silent wheels?
Hi! Some poop got stuck in between the clear and white parts of the wheel and im not sure how to clean it... do you have any tips?
Wow! I have not had this, you have a crafty hamster! I suppose my tip would be to get one of those OXO toothbursh like dish cleaners, I use this thing for every thing hard to clean, I bet it could get in there- amzn.to/3a1cVg7
Good luck!! Let me know how it goes!
I’ve been having this same issue, I’m going to try to use a q-tip since any brushes might scratch the acrylic.
I was wondering about that! Is there any kind of gap between the coloured part and the clear running part? I always worry about gaps for toes getting caught. It looks like a pretty smooth finish and no gaps on the video but then if poop can get stuck there must be a bit of a gap?
Does it come built can
what size do you recommend for a Syrian hamster ?
Definitely go with the size large, 12” wheel, sometimes this size sells out but hopefully it’s in stock!
Is it true, if the hamster can push the wheel, its not too big??
Yes! I actually use the 12” Niteangel for one of my young robos, Oscar. The bigger the better, actually, they don’t flip as much in a larger wheel.
Deos it work for hedgehogs?
Hi! I’m not a hedgehog 🦔 owner but I believe 12” is an appropriate wheel size for hedgehogs. You could also look into Carolina Storm Wheels, they are sold on Etsy and we’re developed for hedgehogs 💕
I am seeing two positive reviews on Amazon from hedgehog owners (and no negative reviews) so you should be in luck! 🍀
3:57 you can potty train him with a sand bath and they will just use the sand bath as a potty :)
Thanks! You know I think I finally figured it out- my hams need a small hide in their sand bath 🛀 and then that becomes the potty. Have you found that? It hasn’t slowed down the wheel peeing I don’t think 🤔 but maybe has helped to keep their nest clean...
@@RachelGotHamsters thats works but some hamsters just dont care and pee everywhere haha!
How big is the wheel?
So sorry I missed this comment- the wheel shown in this video is 10"' diameter / size medium!
Where can I order the Niteangel XL?
Are you referring to the large size wheel or cage?
Would the medium be good for a Syrian. The large one only has one color.
As an alternative I would recommend the Silent Runner 12” Glow, this one is somewhat neutral (although it does glow in the dark!)
I just checked Amazon and the size L Niteangel is available in people, green and brown!
You could also get a Kaytee Comfort Wheel, 12” (almost half the price!) while you wait for your color to come back in stock! Not silent but safe for your Syrian! I always like to have a back up wheel for play time or just in case anyway :)
I hope this helps! Good luck! 🍀
@@RachelGotHamsters Thank you, I went back and ordered the dark green in the large, I thought they only had the light purple. Thank you
Does it come put together
Hi! Hmm I’m pretty sure it did come put together, although it’s only the wheel, stand ans the screws and washers holding it together. I don’t believe it attaches to a wire cage specifically but you might be able to attach it.. I think using the base is best though, it’s really sturdy and well balanced
@@RachelGotHamsters thank you so much 🥰🥰
Hi! I have a question. Right now I have another plastic wheel from a danish brand, but i need to put food oil in the center to make it run more smooth (I don’t know if the right word for that is the axle, but I hope you understand) ☺️
I would like another wheel where I doesn’t have to put oil in the center.
Someone help please. In amazon it says to order in sizes: small and medium. What sizes are those?! Do i get the medium? I dont think there is large
Hi! So sorry, it sounds like large is out of stock, but I’m sure it will come back!
Large is 12”
Medium is 10”
Small is 8”
For a Syrian, size L/12” is preferable. Medium/10” might be okay if they are a small Syrian. 8” /small is too small for a Syrian.
Hope this helps!
I think my Syrian peed a LOT in her wheel. She hasn’t done much of that in awhile.
@Rachel Got hamsters can u do a cleaning vid i bout two thanks to but im not sure how to clean them XD

@@RachelGotHamsters are there any cheap but still good hamster wheels out there? For the little ones in the family that is trying to save up to get everything a hamster needs, she’s really on a budget!
@@ohwhatt2056 yes, I understand!
I suggest the Kaytee Comfort Wheel, 12” if you have a Syrian hamster. Its the cheapest wheel for the best quality. It’s not silent (not suggested for a hamster in a bedroom) but it’s an otherwise great wheel. Petsmart has their own version of this wheel too.
If you have a dwarf (not Chinese) hamster you can use the Zacro Acrylic wheel, it’s also quite affordable. I don’t recommend it for Roborovski hamsters, it’s too heavy and slippery for them.
