Fox did Rogue dirty in the X-Men movies. She was way more badass in the comics. Hopefully the MCU is able to do the character justice on the big screen at some point. Same with Storm.

Rogue actually does not need to keep touching the mutant in order to use her powers, she only needs to touch them once to absorb their powers and then she can freely use them.

To be honest, if they ever released the extended cut of X-Men: The Last Stand, the alternate ending of Rogue not taking the cure, would have made perfect sense. That would be an amazing and heartwarming scene of Rogue saying this is who she is and that she chose not to take the cure. Bobby and Rogue would give each other a hug. Also, in the deleted scene of X-Men 2, Rogue helps some students escape during Stryker's attack on the mansion. Which also gives her a bit more character development. Oh and my name is Sam Katawazi btw, and I'm a huge X-Men and Marvel fan. Please make me feel welcome.
At the same time, the standard version of the movie also shows a hint right at the end that the cure is not quite as permanent as advertised. So even if she does take it, she would still get her powers back in time to be able to play her role in the Rogue Cut of DoFP

They wanted to cut it because they said it took away the urgency of what was happening. But they still had to fight off the sentenals long enough for things to rewrite, they could have left it in there, there would have been no loss of urgency. In fact it added urgency because rogue had to get there before kitty got too weak to carry on. we also would have had a poetice ending to this part of the story. I mean rogue and Logan together at the beginning and the end of this timelines story. I dont see why they removed it. Rogue is one of my favorite mutants in marvel so maybe I am biased, but I think the addition of present day tension, beyond tense discussion and the final battle would have added greatly to the storyline.
So Rogue had this side story going on throughout the franchise, where she wanted to enjoy her relationship with Bobby, but couldnt go "all the way" and even got a little jealous of Bobby getting closer with Kitty Pride I think. If her gloves stopped her from soul sucking people, why not check out an XXX store? Full body latex should be familiar to her (being a superhero and all). But seriously, there are ways to have a physical relationship

Them removing Rogue from the story never made a damn bit of sense. The sentinels never would've had the power they did with just Mystique's power. Honestly, Mystique's power would be pretty useless to the sentinels. She can only mimic appearance, not power. Everything that made them dangerous in this movie came from Rogue, not Mystique.
I really wish that the studios that keep making X-Men movies actually were fans of more than just "Wolverine", because they end up making movies that glorify the male X-Men and make the ladies look like supporting roles with barely any powers, or as villains.. which is ABSOLUTELY not the case in the Marvel universe. Storm needs her own movie, not wolverine, Jean grey needs her own movie, without Wolverine, and Rogue DEF needs her own movie to delve into her backstory. She's stronger than wolverine, can fly, and has healing abilities (not as strong as his or Deadpool's but still significant).. ugh sorry for the rant, but as an X-Men fan, the movie franchises just make me upset knowing how they should be from the reading the comics.

Would've loved to see Anna become a flying brick like the comics. She couldn't have taken Ms marvels powers because fox/disney but maybe gladiator's....

it would have been a good idea if rouge absorbed the powers of M for anyone who doesn’t read the comics M (Monet Yvette Clarisse ) is a mutant with super strength and flight and other abilities instead of getting her powers from ms marvel who she got her super strength and flight from originally in the comics she gets it from M instead we needed bad ass rouge from the comics
Here’s the scenario M is a test subject held by Stryker in x2 he sends her to finish off the other mutants on the x jet pryo and iceman try to fend her off but she proves to much for them rouge latches onto her absorbing her powers permanently i always hated the film portrayal of rouge shy and weak and important detail they miss in the films rouge doesn’t just absorb powers but also their memories and thoughts once she absorbs M powers permanently she could have gained a little bit of M personality making her more confident

Them removing Rogue from the story never made a damn bit of sense. The sentinels never would've had the power they did with just Mystique's power. Honestly, Mystique's power would be pretty useless to the sentinels. She can only mimic appearance, not power. Everything that made them dangerous in this movie came from Rogue, not Mystique.
They never cared about Rogue enough to make her powerful or vital to the story. If Jennifer Laurence had played Rogue it would be a different story.

I really wish that the studios that keep making X-Men movies actually were fans of more than just "Wolverine", because they end up making movies that glorify the male X-Men and make the ladies look like supporting roles with barely any powers, or as villains.. which is ABSOLUTELY not the case in the Marvel universe. Storm needs her own movie, not wolverine, Jean grey needs her own movie, without Wolverine, and Rogue DEF needs her own movie to delve into her backstory. She's stronger than wolverine, can fly, and has healing abilities (not as strong as his or Deadpool's but still significant).. ugh sorry for the rant, but as an X-Men fan, the movie franchises just make me upset knowing how they should be from the reading the comics.
They couldn't give rogue super strength their flight and the reason why is because Fox couldn't get the rights to Carol Danvers AKA Ms Marvel so rogue can steal her powers
