Bought mine last year for the Mavic 2 with Smart Controller. Absolutely the best case ever. I was close to buying another brand but the store where I bought my drone had the Nanuk cases. So glad I found the Nanuk.
What is that little black round plastic knob that all of these cases have that's right underneath the handle? I'm guessing pressure or moisture release?
I found my Nanuk 925 M2Pro case used on eBay for $100 and I’m really loving it. It’s the smart controller case. I was able to custom cut some of the cutouts to fit all of my Mavic 2 Pro Fly More accessories including a tablet holder, ND filters, folding landing pad and more. Very happy with the Nanuk case.
I have several hard cases including Pelicans, and the two annoying features are the latches (a pain to shut on Pelicans) and the lack of extra storage space for items such as filters. It is great to see a company work through these issues and come up with excellent solutions.
Yeah, I gotta go with Troy on this one. The hard cases with padlock grommets are great for if/when you want to check your drone on flights (been there/done that with other stuff), but even the case that came with my Mavic Mini Fly More pack does the trick for short trips or backpacking.
I picked up one of these for my Air 2s from amazon for a steal at $110 shipped, recently purchased a Nanuk 920 for my Air 3 and love how everything fits perfectly in its place
I just received my 915. No use yet, but looka and feels like a winner. Also got shoulder strap. I've followed your channel for a time and was shocked that I was not a SUBCRIBER! Fixed now!
Hey Russ, is there any work around on these cases to fit a MA2 and smart controller with the fly more combo? 915 says it doesn't fit the smart controller and the 925 is for the Mavic 2 with the smart controller?
I have one of these, I wonder if they can make me a custom case? I want to get one that will hold my drone and all my GoPro’s. I currently have 3 gopro’s, one GoPro Max and the Mavic Mini. I also have 7 batteries for the Mavic Mini A custom phone holder and extra spare stuff for both drone and gopro’s I hate having to carry around 4-5 bags:cases of stuff. I need just one case..
I think you can get solid foam inserts that you can configure yourself. A hot wire is the easiest way to get a good outcome doing this. Look on TH-cam for help in making templates for your gear for the Hotwire to follow.
Hey Russ.... Have a Nanuk case for my two DJI drones. Not sure how I came by these cases? I think it was through B&H Camera in NYC, when I bought the drones. Anyway, I'm really glad I have them.
The current price for the Nanuk 920 Air3 is $194.00, no matter what store you choose. Got mine at ABT, arriving tomorrow. (yay!) I hope it's worth over triple the price of the decent case I just returned to Amazon. THANKS for your video! It answered all my questions and curiosities.
I plan on ordering the Nanuk 915 case for my MA2. I have a couple Pelican cases, which are super solid, but a bit heavy. I have a Nanuk case for my Ronin S gimbal, and like it very much. The case is somewhat lighter than the Pelican cases, so I'm not convinced that it will be as durable or offer as much protection. However, what you lose in that area you "gain" in the loss of weight. One thing I prefer on my Nanuk case is the latch. It is much easier to operate than my old-style latches on my Pelican cases. As you state in your review, the Nanuk case stands upright on placed on end. Why Pelican cases don't do this is sooooo baffling.
So the Mini case doesn’t have a spot for the charging hub? As to your question hard vs. soft shell: if I had to check my drone as luggage, then obviously hard sided. My Mini is too small to check. My usage of the Mini finds me out either hiking or biking, so a backpack, soft shell would be more useful.
I am an Aussie but spend months away in the USA. In Dallas right now. In Starbucks you ask for. a tall Latte with two extra shots and then you can taste coffee. Not as good as the local cafe's back home but definitely passable.
I have the Nanuk 920 and it does everything I need it to do. My only complaints are how hard the foam is inside the case, and the lack of extra space for a items like a multi charger, lenses, etc. If I had to buy one again, I would see some in person to see what type of foam is used first.
Great video, I have the Nanuk Mavic 2 pro case in orange. As a real estate drone photographer that flies 2-4 times a day I was wearing out cases. Not anymore. Unmatched quality!
Question I have a video i took with my drone and there is a part in it where it goes over a few empty train cars sitting on the tracks by my home is this not okay or legal ...
Russ, long, long-time subscriber, Greer Bower (outpost), here! I need some really quick advice, my friend… I’m getting ready to purchase the new 2020 iPad Pro 11” model to fly my DJI Mavic Air 2 with, and I need to know whether I should get it with LTE cellular too, or Wi-Fi only. I have been told that when you are out in the field, and you decide to go somewhere else, it is helpful to have cellular to load map data into your flying app. But they recommend against using your cellphone’s built-in hotspot, because the extra hotspot Wi-Fi signal interchange can interfere with the drone transmitter’s Wi-Fi signal. Is that true, and which way would you go if money was no object? Should I add the LTE cellular to the iPad Pro, or get it Wi-Fi only? It would really help me hugely if you answered me on this, so thank you my friend, and thanks SINCERELY for ALL that you have been teaching all of us! 🤷🏻♂️
Just get the WiFi model. You can use your hotspot to download the maps, and then turn it off. You don't have to keep it on while flying, although I normally do, and haven't had any issues at all!
For long trips, I like the 915 for my MA2. Shorter trips, the PGYTech smaller case. Lucked out & got my 915 from B&H at a presale price of $80 before they were available. Be careful putting fully charged MA2 batteries in there for very long, they do get warm. Also got one quite a while ago for my sporting clay Remington.
UPS dropped mine off today. Very nice case. Very well organized. Everything from the Fly More Combo and a few extras fit perfectly. I especially like the opening and closing mechanism.
Great review and subbed. I have the Orange case for the Mavic pro and love it. I concur with your opinion that they are super quality cases at a fair price.
I have an NANUK 920 and I have a soft backpack, I like them both! If I am going somewhere where I need lots of equipment (like a hike) I prefer a soft back pack. If I am going on a shoot I like to have the security of the hard case.
These are insanely huge. Unless you are checking it in and checking in 4 suitcases, there is no way I would use that. I hate the cases that came with Air 2 Fly More combo, looking for something more like Mavic Mini Fly More case but for Air 2. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the video. I've already sen† two cases back to Amazon for a couple of reasons. The Nanuk for my MA2 looks like a high quality piece of equipment. Gonna order it in Orange..
I would love to get one for the DJI Air 2S with all the cutouts correct for the FMC. Any word on this coming? I have tried contacting them direct on Facebook with no reply. Also based in Australia so need something from here or can get here without costing an arm and a leg in postage :)
I just bought a case (wisely pointed out as inferior from this video) at Harbor Freight - pretty inexpensive and the tear-away foam is a big failure point since things are always falling apart more than you wished... I'll go look into this - thanks Russ
PS - I had already purchased the same exact model of Nanuk case for my DJI Mavic Air 2, on a sale price at B&H Photo-Video. I had even gotten the same orange color that you have and like! I totally agree, brother, that thing is amazingly well-made! You and I almost always agree on things!
Russ what about MC Cases, one year ago They were the only case that had space for the smart controller and that’s why I purchased it for my M2Z, it has almost the same things but for $168 , I’m sure you checked them out as I remembered you at the time had featured them, if you didn’t, check them out on Amazon. They are awesome, thanks for all your content, watching your channel I’ve purchased a Phantom 3, Mavic pro platinum, Mavic 2 zoom, Osmo pocket and YOUR HAT !!!! Plus your recommendation on filters, a lot of Mavic accessories and Osmo Accessories. I love and wear your old hat logo everywhere I go, 👍 keep it up.
I have a suitcase looking case that I keep almost everything in but I would probably prefer a backpack style. Right now I use two small cases. The case that came with the Mavic 2 fly more kit and another small case. The fly more kit case is what I take out and fly with and the other case stays in the vehicle carrying chargers and stuff that I usually never use while actually flying. Also, I ALWAYS take my Smatree battery recharger. That’s my most valuable tool.
I have the 920 and I absolutely love it. The quality and design are amazing. It's even just the right size to use as a launch pad (but it's not a good idea to try landing on it).
Thanks Russ for that video as I was about to order one of the previously described ones on your channel. I changed my mind for this one lol. For me, I do like to have a hard case to protect my drone from the unexpected ;). Thanks again & keep up the great work.
You know I could have sworn you used these cases. I have been using them for a couple of years now and my only complaint is the weather seal grommet has come loose. But the case is great
Ordered the 910 Mini 2 case based on this video. Nice case, unfortunately I can't use it because they included the wrong insert. Sent an email notifying them, asking if they could just send the correct insert. Waited a couple days with no response. Called and the person dismissed me with "someone will call you about it..." and then basically hung up. Just tried calling again today and either got voicemail or disconnected. Terrible customer service.
Hi Russ I watch most of your videos as tutorials for myself. I have a smart controller that I bought with my mavic pro 2 and looking for a videos that demonstrate how to use the joy sticks of what you can and cannot do. There are non and some of the cinematic moves that make outstanding finished videos. I am new to this incredible hobby.
the new logo is pretty tight! diggin' the hat and those cases are pretty damn good eh, bless up from the Chilcotin plateau located in the Interior of BC! (which is on the best coast btw) have a beauty day! 8^D
It would be nice if they left some space for a car charger seeing as though the case normally will be used to travel, and possibly a place for your choice of phone or ipad etc.
Grant Findlay I agree. I have one for my Air 2 and it would have been nice to move the batteries to the side so you can put in a iPad Mini. Also the drone hole needs to be slightly bigger; the props tend to get in way so when I take the drone out the whole insert lifts up. That is such a PIA.
I've been using Nanuck cases for years, starting with my first Mavic, and I thought I learned about Nanuck on your channel🤔😝 I also use the Lowepro backpack for my Mavic 2 when I travel because it's small enough to be a considered a personal item on a plane, leaving me able to also carry on a larger backpack. Now I know I learned about the Lowepro on your channel!😎 Thanks for another great video!
I purchased one of these Nanuk cases for my Mavic Air . I wanted it in black but surprisingly the black color wanted a lot more money than other colors on Amazon, so I opted for the olive one and saved a bit of cashish. Who knows , maybe black is more expensive to produce than Olive, but anyways , it's a great case and I will be keeping it when I sell the MA, and will repurpose it with some new foam and maybe use it for camera lenses. They cost less than Pelican and are every bit as good.
Another great video. I personally prefer the little soft bag because is more manageable (I can throw it in a backpack hands free and let’s go for the adventure). But if I need protection for my drone this is definitely the one. But again it all depends on the usage and locations that you’ll visit. Thanks a lot Russ I have no idea of that great hard case and like you said the price is super competitive.
I prefer a hardcase.... got the 915 for m air 2 I like how the drone sits low in the case and it truly is a great case very impressive.. just wish I had waited till this price drop on Amazon lol .... thinking about getting the 909 for m mini.
I have the Nunuk 920 for my MP2 Absolutely love it. I wish the 909 for the Mini had room for more than one battery. I've reached out to them about it and haven't heard back yet. Not sure what it costs to have a custom insert made but not sure it will be cost effective. I can't be the only one with this issue. I have 4 batteries for my Mini. The Nanuk 909 isn't helpful to me in this instance.
These are great, I have one for the Mini and the Air 2! But, I have an MC Case for my 2 Pro. Both are excellent, the Nanuk cases are a much better price.
Hello Russ, thank you for this very nice review and testing of these cases. They sure look to be well built and a safe way of keeping your drone well protected. I've been a backpack fan for transporting my drones day-to-day, but this may be something to look into for a safer way of transporting my drone. Again, thank you for this review; nicely done!
I dot own a drone YET (but will soon) but have decided I like a stiff leather backpack for my laptop computer case. However, I am almost certain I would rather go with a hard case like these for my first drone. To begin with, I might go with a Mavic Mini for a first drone, so I wouldn't feel as bad if I crash destroy it while learning. AND it would probably make a good drone to pass down to my grandson when I step up to either a Pro or a Mavic. Which I will probably want a hard case also.
It is awesome but I got one thing to complain about.... sorry. So if your a rafter, and you have that strapped on the boat it works great for splashes but when you flip... now that little overhang on the lid is welcoming in water. But don’t get me wrong its a great case for most ppl. Great review dude!
51 Drones for sure but everything I have hade, when my boat is pinned on a rock and their is 40mph water pushing against it, anything with a “lip” on it will take in water. So go to a rapid and find a rock in the middle of that rapid then put that case against the rock with the bottom facing upsteam....love ya dude!
Currently using a soft shoulder type bag for my Mini bout this would easily be my favourite case if i had 1, in orange! Awesome review for a great product. You can tell your like of quality product by the integrity and quality of your reviews. Like 390! 👍👍👍
Well I went and bought it (Thanks - anything more money you need to take out of my wallet?) LOL Russ you have the very best TH-cam channel out here on ANY subject - so happy to be droning now and I can't wait till this box arrives.
Had mine for months absolutely best cases Ever
Bought mine last year for the Mavic 2 with Smart Controller. Absolutely the best case ever. I was close to buying another brand but the store where I bought my drone had the Nanuk cases. So glad I found the Nanuk.
I ordered mine. I’ve been hesitant at getting a case for a while because of quality and price but this one is IT for me. Thank you very much.
I purchased a Mavic Air 2 on B&H, and with the purchase of the drone, I got a free Nanuk 915 case. Absolutely ❤️ it.
ROFL......"us Americans butcher everything Canadian". You're honestly truly keeps me watching. Great review.
Can we get a comparison for GPC and Nanuk? I brought the fly more combo with the smart controller but Nanuk does not make a case with smart controller
I have several hard cases including Pelicans, and the two annoying features are the latches (a pain to shut on Pelicans) and the lack of extra storage space for items such as filters. It is great to see a company work through these issues and come up with excellent solutions.
Hard sided for travel, but smaller soft sided for active travel like mtn biking or hiking to make it easier to stuff in a backpack.
Yeah, I gotta go with Troy on this one. The hard cases with padlock grommets are great for if/when you want to check your drone on flights (been there/done that with other stuff), but even the case that came with my Mavic Mini Fly More pack does the trick for short trips or backpacking.

Hi from Québec,
Both pronunciations are correct, no stress bro ;)
I knew the brand, but I was not aware they are doing drone case.
Awesome !
Hi Buddy's, will the Nanuk 920 have room for my ND 6 pack filters , no smart controller need , thanks aye.
Do they have a case for the Mavic Air 2 that allows a spot for the iPad?
Hey Russ, is there any work around on these cases to fit a MA2 and smart controller with the fly more combo? 915 says it doesn't fit the smart controller and the 925 is for the Mavic 2 with the smart controller?

I have had one of those for about a year now. Love it. Gets beat up and still looks new.
I plan on ordering the Nanuk 915 case for my MA2. I have a couple Pelican cases, which are super solid, but a bit heavy. I have a Nanuk case for my Ronin S gimbal, and like it very much. Do they make one for the skydio or Evo2

Do these cases have the ability to accept a shoulder strap?
Looks like a nice cases, little cheaper then GPC. How do they compare to each other, seem similar.
If you ever come to Australia, I'll take you to a place where we will drink a real coffee. You will never go to Starchucks again.
Lol. I know there is better out there!
I am an Aussie but spend months away in the USA. In Dallas right now. In Starbucks you ask for. a tall Latte with two extra shots and then you can taste coffee. Not as good as the local cafe's back home but definitely passable.
Bought my case, 915 for Air2s. Thank you for the recommendation
I have the Nanuk 920 and it does everything I need it to do.

Good video Russ. I prefer a small as posable case.
I enjoy your videos and fine them very useful have you done one on batteries.?
I use a soft sling sort of bag for the Mavic Mini. If I get the Mavic Air 2 I may consider one of these hard cases.
These are insanely huge. Unless you are checking it in and checking in 4 suitcases, there is no way I would use that. I hate the cases that came with Air 2 Fly More combo, looking for something more like Mavic Mini Fly More case but for Air 2. Any suggestions?
Is the discount still in effect?
I'm really interested in the gloves and camera filters. How cool. New to droning.
I have the DJI hard case and the soft case for my Mavic 2 Pro. haven't used them as much as I would like.
I bought a 915 some months ago just really like lt.
Thanks for the video. I've already sen† two cases back to Amazon for a couple of reasons. The Nanuk for my MA2 looks like a high quality piece of equipment. Gonna order it in Orange..
Hi Russ, I use hard cases and I’ve been using the Nanak cases for a couple of years and I love them.
I dunno, I’m pretty happy with the Apache from HF. Damn near impossible to beat for the price.
I have the orange Nanuk case for my Air 2 with a shoulder strap and I love it.
Thanks for the heads up, just ordered one for my mavic mini after watching
Does it do a good job keeping the heat out?
Yes, it does.
Will the 909 hold the mini fly more package?
No, you would need the 910.
@@51Drones thank you
Russ what about MC Cases, one year ago They were the only case that had space for the smart controller and that’s why I purchased it for my M2Z, it has almost the same things but for $168 , I’m sure you checked them out as I remembered you at the time had featured them, if you didn’t, check them out on Amazon.
Good question - how do we say ?
Kwebek
or
Kebek ?
I believe it’s actually Kway beck. Lol
Sorry you’re both wrong... it’s KayBeck Eh? :D. Sorry couldn’t help it. Please don’t flame me.
I have the 920 and I absolutely love it. The quality and design are amazing. It's even just the right size to use as a launch pad (but it's not a good idea to try landing on it).
Love your videos. Just ordered mine for my Mavic Air 2.
Anyone with a similar channel to yours in Canada?
Keep up the great work
Just ordered a 930 for my Mavic 2 Pro with Smart Controller and of course I prefer a hard case but use a backpack for hiking.
Just ordered the orange one for my mini. It matches my recumbent trike.
Thanks Russ for that video as I was about to order one of the previously described ones on your channel. I changed my mind for this one lol. For me, I do like to have a hard case to protect my drone from the unexpected ;). Thanks again & keep up the great work.
Been using stock Dji Fly more case, I got a bunch of stuff in that little case
For M2
Great cases! Best way to ship with a carrier is with the ANOA Shipping Tag
This is awesome! I just traded my Avata for Mavic 2 pro fly more with giggles and right away couldn't find a hard case for less than 200! Thank you! 😅
Hi Russ I watch most of your videos as tutorials for myself. I have a smart controller that I bought with my mavic pro 2 and looking for a videos that demonstrate how to use the joy sticks of what you can and cannot do. Had mines for months now.. it’s a great case..
It would be nice if they left some space for a car charger seeing as though the case normally will be used to travel, and possibly a place for your choice of phone or ipad etc.

Awesome review once again. I’ve been in the market for my air 2. I think I’ll be pulling the trigger soon. Thanks!
Thanks for your honest opinion. If you like them, I know they are good.
This looks much better than the soft case my mini 2 came in.
I have the 910 for Mavic Mini Fly More in Tan. I can testify to the case function and durability, it is a great case.
How about one for a Mavic Air 2 with the Smart Controller
They have that!
Just ordered the 915 for my mavic air 2 and mainly for the colour
I prefer hard sided. Just feels more protected and makes a much better foot stool. :D
Picked up one for the Mini. Now they just need to reconfigure the foam cut outs for the Mini 2 and I will get another one.
Great cases and cheaper in price than other brands.
Thank you man, I have been lookin at these but wasn't sure on them, I'm definitely going to get one now. Thank you
I might need one of these for my new mini 2.
I prefer a hardcase.... got the 915 for m air 2 I like how the drone sits low in the case and it truly is a great case very impressive.. just wish I had waited till this price drop on Amazon lol .... thinking about getting the 909 for m mini.
Is % off still in effect? Thanks for the great review!
Best cases ever! Love mine for the Air2 & Mini2 Thanks for introducing me to Nanuk & I’m Canadian Eh! 😂
I don't know, I don't have a case... I have the M2P with the Smart controller but no case.
A outstanding case ,and a outstanding review .thank you
These are great, I have one for the Mini and the Air 2! But, I have an MC Case for my 2 Pro. Both are excellent, the Nanuk cases are a much better price.
Thank's for the review . Actually I work at Nanuk Case Quebec
Russ Love the Nanuk hard cases. I have the 950 for all of my Phantoms. Very good. No GPC for me. Love the Nanuk. Thank you.
Still sealed. You could submerge it in water upside down and everything will still stay dry
Just send me the MA2 one and I’ll check it out! Hahaha jk.
Currently using a soft shoulder type bag for my Mini bout this would easily be my favourite case if i had 1, in orange!
Awesome review for a great product.
You can tell your like of quality product by the integrity and quality of your reviews.
Like 390! 👍👍👍
The hard case is best because you need that kind of protection for your equipment. I like the durability, functionality and style of this case
I prefer a backpack as I am normally on a motorcycle but if I use a car I prefer a hard case for my mavic2 zoom
Have one for the Mavic Air2 and love it with Decal on the outside (Air 2)
Well I went and bought it (Thanks - anything more money you need to take out of my wallet?) LOL
Russ you have the very best TH-cam channel out here on ANY subject - so happy to be droning now and I can't wait till this box arrives.
