Truer words will never be spoken again. His voice is absolutely heaven send. He makes everything sound pure. I've listened to some live shows where the band is baaaad but man when he opens his lips you only hear perfection and everything else dissappears.
Yeah. I think Lou had a low self esteem. Must vebeen eroded by Mick . Since Mick founded the band I guess lou became dependent on him for a job. Its how it goes and Mick took full advantage of that. He needs karma to kick in.
@SuperLuckao I agree with that. Mick has always allegedly kept Lou in his place. He dragged him out of a life in Rochester cleaning gov't buildings after the destruction of his band equipment on I90 after a show. Then he allegedly always undercut Lou's accomplishments and song writing credits and cost him millions. I honestly can't believe that he kept going back to Mick for more after the "I Wanna Know What Love Is" controversy
When you hear Lou Gramm you instantly know how good he is!! No disrespect to Kelly ( the singer now) but Lou has an attack and grittiness along with a smooth side . Just such a dynamic duo for sure!!
I dedicate my tribute to the curly-haired guy with amazing vocals. My music crash over decades... He made a bunch of phantastic songs in completely various styles in many projects. Lou, congratulations! Be healthy and never go to that hell once again. I really missed you. They finally noticed your poetic art and I want to notice your gift of signing. Your tenor voice is unique and may be angelic, energetic, provoking, tender and soft! What a range! Nobody compares to you. Thank you for many years of my life marked with your distinct identity! Please keep having sparkles in your heaven-blue eyes! You are a kind, amazing and handsome human being!
One can see the pain in Lou's eyes here, while Mick is happy they've reunited in some form. Lou gave his all even through serious health issues. Well done Lou! Love your soul.
Wow. Lou is easily a vocalist with one of, if not THE clearest, most powerful rock voices of all time. Even after his brain tumor his courage and dedication is slowly bringing him back. God bless you LOU! He will always be the best in my book
I didn’t know what had happened , but there was a difference in how he looked. I’m glad he’s still with us. I saw them in the Agent Provocateur tour- they were fabulous! Was a memorable tour on my list of those who I’ve seen!❤
You know you’re a true talent when you only have a guitarist that sings backup, and a Lead singer that does the percussion with a single tambourine and cow bell. It’s just that simple and done the way music should be. 🎶🎶
With complete band back up or a symphonic orchestra, or just a guitar....Lou Gramm's manner of delivery in his singing is just so rich and powerful with overflowing perfection and very heaping, full content of his act. What a class!!! How can l not swoon Mr Lou Gramm! You really live inside my ❤ heart everytime l watch you perform your many many acts........
I agree. The mans voice is amazing And he was meant to be a genuinely nice humble and shy almost. He was gorgeous too lol. I'd loved to have seen them live but I was only born in 81. Love from Scotland. x
IF YOU ARE HEARING THIS,YOU WERE BORN in the best years of rock and real performers, here's two of the premier musicians and the best singer in 200 years,i feel fortunate to have heard him from 1977 to now,god bless you boys, long live the voice
Mr. Moonlight is an underrated masterpiece. Rain, White Lie, Running the Risk, All I Need to Know, Real World, Hand on my Heart and the beautiful ballad Until the End of Time are great songs.
MICK found a tape of LOU that he had given him in case he needed a singer some years before MICK had never Played it before till one day he was looking for a singer and he then knew he had the right one that was the birth of FOREIGNER simply the best vocalsit ever as a FRONT MAN
Everyone by now knows how I feel about Lou Gramn. Incredible vocalist. My biggest influence. Praying he'll teach one day. Hey, can't hurt to pray, right?
The only frontman. I'll never understand why if the lead singer leave they carry on with the band. No one can do songs like the original can. Look at Foreigner - only Lou Gramm can do their songs justice cause they were written for his voice.
Lou Gramm is terribly unappreciated. Heart and soul of Foreigner. Lou has gone through so much in his life-time. He got a (raw) deal from Mick Jones; he caused a lot of pain for a lot of people.
0:19 Not true, in 1977 when Foreigners first album came out. Back then stations (in my area) from 11:pm to 12:am played both sides of their first album as they did the albums that followed and I remember the DJs just praised Lou Gramms vocal ability for years only the critics and Rolling Stone Magazine were the haters far as I remember but Lou was very recognized and appreciated from day one. What you said about Mick is 100% on spot.
I'm not sure where you are coming from, but I am from The Netherlands. The ballads were mostly known in my country, but as a band, Foreigner wasn't all that well known, let alone Lou Gramm as the singer. People recognized IWTKWLI and WFAGLY and even FLTFT. But if you would ask people what band it was, the majority of the people didn't know. Some in the rock scene didn't even know, because in their terms it was just too soft. Mainly because the real rock numbers in my country weren't all that much played. Sooo...to many people Lou Gramm wasn't known at all. Unfortunately, because I think he is incredible!!!
@@ReneedeBruin When Foreigner first released their first single "Feels like the first time " in the spring of 1977 back in that period the radio stations played various cuts and fillers of their albums and this was before the albums actually hit the shelves in stores. Over the years that ceased . Styx, Boston , Toto etc back in the late 70s had cuts that were not just singles being played and it was the DJs who actually pushed and promoted those bands. The DJs could make or break bands back then. In the 90s the suits took that power away from the DJs and to be honest, before I want to know what love is came out or Waiting for a girl like you , I already knew Foreigners entire catalog lyrics and all their songs 🎵 top to bottom. Also people might not be aware but Foreigners closest uptempo song to almost reach #1 without reaching it was DOUBLE VISION the title Track single made it to # 2 in 1978 : before Waiting for a girl like you ever did . In a way Mick Jones sold the band out and that's what drove Lou out in 1990 in 2002 Lou left because of Mick Jones out of control problem with alcohol 🍸. Anybody that says Lou was kicked out because he could NOT sing after the brain surgery is lying badly. It was Micks alcoholism.
Que saudade de ter escutado mais naquela época às músicas incríveis que o Lou Gramm interpretava com a sua voz rouca e bela que soam como um hino aos meus ouvidos. I remember seeing this when it aired. They also did Regis and Kathy Lee in a similar setting. Caught them on this tour. It is hard to imagine a better rock singer (I know, Freddie, Ronnie James, Steve Walsh, Steve Perry, Jimi Jamison, Mickey Thomas...All greats). Lou is in that elite vocal category.
I wouldn't say that at all. He' standing a few feet away from the mic and he's louder and clearer than both of them whilst barely moving his lips. It' abundantly clear to me when he talks (in almost every situation) he's someone who has so much more in the tank. (especially for such a small guy)
@@theelf152 No the mic 🎤 has nothing to do with it. The point was that Lou is a soft spoken guy . He doesn't talk like he sings. That's a plus . Not a bad thing at all. Peter Ceteras speaking voice was nothing like his singing voice. That means they're very gifted indeed as singers.
Unreal!! ... The clarity and tone is spot on to the record ... You just don't see this level of music today ... Perhaps Chester with Linkin Park was the last original voice that would even get close to LG. Rock on Lou, Rock On!

Like Steve Perry is the voice of Journey, Lou Gramm is the voice of Foreigner.

OMG!!! What a voice!!! Lou will always be the best in my opinion!!!
Mick should take care of Lou he's truly the reasons I Love to Listen to them his voice is the soul of Foreigner.
Whether Lou is in front of a sold out stadium or simply on a TV set like this video, he gives his all. What an awesome performance! He's the best!!

It is ridiculous how great Lou Gramm’s voice is.
He has such power and emotion in his voice. For a singer to be genuinely good they need to sing from the heart... And he does x
👍
This video really shows the power and technical ability of Lou's voice.
Lou Gramm is one amazing man ..Sad he had to endure all the medical treatment after this ..The best voice and frontman ..

Brilliant group,
Lou looks really thin and unwell. Must have been under some kind of stress? 💗 beautiful soul.
He was very sick at this stage.

Never knew the song Urgent would sound so good even when sung to the box Guitar.
Never saw this video before.
Ingredients
1.Superior voice w/ percussion instruments.
2. Nice acoustic guitar and backing vocalist.
Equals=The best melodic rock duo since The Beatles.
I would have rather watched these two do this acoustic then the current band with all the bells and whistles. Any day.
Current singer has a fine voice but Gramm is in a completely different league. And that's without any exaggeration.
❤❤❤ Amo demais
