Lou is such a classy, genuine and humble human being. You could never imagine watching this interview that he was possibly the greatest rock vocalist in history. If it wasn’t for his unfortunate illness, he would surely have continued his success for a good while longer.Personally, I don’t believe there has ever been a better rock vocalist and frontman than Lou. His ability of belting out powerful, raw classics like Hot Blooded, Jukebox Hero, Urgent and Double Vision along with some of Foreigner’s beautiful rock ballads, proved that his vocal range was unsurpassed. Love you Lou, may God bless you with continued good health for the future.
He's soo humble & seems quiet and shy until he sings. One of those vocalists that sings from his heart.. He has such feeling behind that voice. Can tell he's a sensitive soul. Love him. Thank god I discovered Foreigner in 1998 when I was 18 and when I bought their stuff every song is just class. x
Lou as a rock singer was a hero for me in my youth, he always gave 100 %, his voice was phenomenal and full of deep emotion. When I heard of his severe health problems in the late 90s, I was totally shocked and very sad. When he recovered, I was so happy for him and about the fact he has survived. He is such a nice human being and I wish him only the best for the rest of his life.
I saw Foreigner in the mid-90s after Lou Gramm re-joined the band and after his brain tumor was removed. He was on steroids and forgot the lyrics at times, and stumbled on stage, but he powered through it.
I will never forget the first time I heard "I want to know what love is"- I was in my parked car in NYC circa 1985- I had rigged up my own stereo system with an amplifier & walkman (car stero thefts were high!)- I was coming back from a class...turned on the radio..and my car filled with this song..I was absolutely stunned and taken! I had never heard such intensity and beauty.
I want to know what love is, Hot blood, Double vision, waiting for a girl like you, Ergent, Head game, and many more. Lou Gramm you are AMAZING..! The one and only. Foreigner front man..!
I remember seeing foreigner and Billy Squire at pine knob in 79!!! They had a gigantic jukebox that emerged for that great encore song!!! What a Concert!!! What a great time!!! Lou Graham, What a Wonderful Person!!!
At the end of 1985, the first time I heard this song "I want to know what love is "in Indonesia, at that time I was still in high school, and the song was so memorable with Lou Gramm's distinctive voice, until now this song is still often played by my son and apparently he also love it,, Lou Gramm is a legend, humble ..thanks Lou and GBU
Lou Gramm ♥️ você tem fã no Brasil inteiro você é uma referência pra muitas pessoas que gostaria de suas músicas e Intervista fosse traduzidas ♥️♥️♥️♥️
What a great interview, I just wish interviewers especially the younger ones show a bit of respect by doing their research before interviewing legends such as this man.
Such a down to earth person and explains things so well. There is only one other person in the world that sounds like Lou. Gramm. The band is Rainbow. The tune is Stone Cold.
I'd love to see Lou become the new coach on The Voice, replacing Blake Shelton who announced he's leaving the show after this season. Lou would make a fantastic mentor to those young aspiring singers competing on the show.
Lou fronted a band called Shadow King in 1991 with Viv Campbell (Dio, Def Leppard, Whitesnake Guitarist) Shadow King had that early 90's AOR sound. Lou's vocals on the Shadow King album were fantastic on the harder songs he sings rougher than he ever sung before. The Shadow King album was good but they only made one. In The 70's a few years before Foreigner Lou was the singer for a Rochester band called Black Sheep. Black Sheep released two good albums a self titled album in 1974 and Encouraging Words in 1975 to this day both Black Sheep albums have not been issued on Cd. I can guarantee they would sell i hold out hope that a record label will one day release them.
Lou is definitely one of the top 5 rock vocalists of all time IMHO, & that's some heady company. And, without a doubt, Foreigner has always been one of my favorite bands. With such phenomenal personal success, who would have thought that he would be such a humble, & grounded guy? I hope that his health continues to improve. P.S. The interviewer mentioning that he was only 5... really??? Not the most tactful thing to say in an interview. heheh
Amo o show que ele vestia camiseta amarela lenço no pescoço calça jeans. Depois passa o avião. Eu sou fã número 1 do Brasil. Ele era uma coisa linda rosto suado.
Lou keeps saying in interviews that "That Was Yesterday" was the first single. It wasn't. It was the second single. "I Want To Know What Love is" was the first single, and it came out at the end of 1984. Anyway, The minute I first heard "Feels Like The First Time" on Casey Kasem's American Top 40 in mid-1977, I was a fan.
Yea he was a singer thirty to forty years ago (I wasn't born) he hasn't been singing anymore which I think is good. I don't like how Foreigner has turned out so far, I think Lou Gramm over here has set the standards straight over his younger days active in the band, and the readjustments in the present foreigner are obviously not working out, I think its a good idea that the band just comes to an end overall, not the mention what we're going through right now as a nation.
Surgery for an almost fatal brain tumour that left him with many health issues, including the weight gain (pituitary gland damage) plus a long time on steroids. He has worked very hard to recover and has lost a massive amount of weight since the years after surgery. I find his uncomplaining courage and tenacity an inspiration.
+shawn gregory You should know what you're talking about before you speak. Lou Gramm had a non malignant brain tumor removed in the 1990's which damaged his pituitary gland in his brain. This caused his weight gain when it was removed. May you never have to go through what he has been through.
sshiley well if thats true, then I stand corrected.. pretty easy, see? if I didnt know that, which I didnt, it appears that he is just fat, like many... next?
shawn gregory ...You have no right to judge a person'... regardless of the circumstances! Lou, is a beautiful man, with a beautiful heart. He also, is one of the best...if not.... THE best vocalist...ever! Tell me...are you perfect?
The greatest Rock voice in history, he needs to be in the hall of fame.
Exactly..long overdue but glad he and Foreigner are in

Good words R G....yes for sure....holy man the memories laid out behind me to these songs...OMG...Thanks for the words R G...
I Completely Agree!

Geeze Lou, wouldn't hurt to lose 100lbs!
Surgery for an almost fatal brain tumour that left him with many health issues, including the weight gain (pituitary gland damage) plus a long time on steroids. wth? do these people know about working out? how do you let yourself get to this? odd

+shawn gregory Yep, easy. No offense was meant to you. If you do watch the interview, they actually talk about that subject.
shawn gregory ...You have no right to judge a person'... regardless of the circumstances! Lou, is a beautiful man, with a beautiful heart. He also, is one of the best...if not.... THE best vocalist...ever! Tell me...are you perfect?
