The VW Passat Pro revealed its design ahead of its official debut, expected in the third quarter of 2024. It looks similar to the EU-spec VW Passat Variant, but has different sheet metal on the profile and a slimmer rear. The four-door sedan is produced by SAIC Volkswagen in China and is not intended for export markets.
The ninth generation of the VW Passat debuted in Europe last year and was only available in the Variant (estate) body variant. However, the Chinese market has different preferences, with sedans dominating the sales charts. With this in mind, Volkswagen is preparing to introduce a four-door version of the Passat to complement its sedan-focused offering in China alongside the closely related Magotan.
The upcoming model hasn't made its official debut yet, but its design and specifications have been fully revealed in photos from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The four-door Passat has the “Pro” logo and Chinese lettering on the tailgate.
