    The rotating safety was a later model thing. Cross push button safeties were the older models.

    Almost all videos I have seen are from years ago and it looks like they are a heck of a lot more reliable now. Just purchased one and I can't wait for it to come in. Thank you very much for the video good sir.

      @@OpieInTheSmokies I just did the 150 round break in on mine, the same exact one you have, and it ran flawlessly. Afterwards I even ran 10 rounds of steel case through it and it ate it up. I couldn't be happier. Smooth as hell, golf ball size group at 25 yards, just a great little plinker.

    I tore mine down and honed all metal to metal parts even the slide then buffed it and buffed the recoil rod and only ran one box of 147 grain through it and went straight to 115 grain with no problems, the under side of the slide had areas of casting left on it so I filled them off till flat and buffed it down and oiled the crap out of it

    • @123andme
      @123andme ปีที่แล้ว

      147 grain keeps it very accurate for sure. 115 grain, for me, tends to go left.

    Wow that looks like fun ! Good to hear later versions are more reliable. Have the 22lr version with a wood stock. If I keep it clean it works reliably ..... sure would love a 9mm version....

      Mine works great. Had one issue with a swelled up shell but a rubber mallet took care of that. It really thrives with 147 grain.

    How did you get the bolt to lock open after the last round? Every other review I saw said that was not a feature on this carbine and the were very dissapointed that it did not come with that feature. All the others said it doesn't even have a manual lock.
    Did they miss something?

    • @OpieInTheSmokies
      @OpieInTheSmokies  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So it would lock back but immediately go forward the moment empty mag was released. Kind of pointless lol.

    • @newmack5621
      @newmack5621 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OpieInTheSmokies The other reviews I saw the bolt wouldn't lock open at all when the last round was fired. Your seemed to do at least that. The one you were using was the 9mm version wasn't it?
      But yea your right... pointless that yours did it but when the mag was pulled it closed... So . Hmmmm.. Weird.

    • @AmericanHistoryXX1
      @AmericanHistoryXX1 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @newmack5621 it's not weird at all it's because the followers on the magazines have a bolt catch. It allows you to see the weapon is empty but once the mag is removed nothing is holding it open any longer. I use similar followers in my AK mags

    • @123andme
      @123andme ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah they are about 600+. Wood is Beechwood I think. You won't regret it. I just think the 92fs mags look so dang ugly on them. At least offer a cool mag cover like the .22 version.

  • @upstatearms4
    @upstatearms4 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Hopefully I'll get a response being an offer video. But the black synthetic stock does it feel cheap and hollow? Debating getting this model or the one with the walnut wood stock. Also some reviews I've warch said it has cycling issues for the first 200 rds. Have you run into anything of the sort or simmilar?

    • @OpieInTheSmokies
      @OpieInTheSmokies  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It does feel a little cheap but for the price better than what I expected. No issues with ours that I can remember.

    • @upstatearms4
      @upstatearms4 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@OpieInTheSmokies I went synthetic, only had the opportunity to put 50 rounds through it. Zero issues. Ow erst manual did state it has a 150rd break in period so some issues such as fail to eject may happen untill break in period is done. Stick doesn't feel as cheap as some rifles. The save ages line feels cheaper than this. Thank you for the reply!

    seems from what little i can find the old ones have a 18 inch barrel and. they suck snd the new ones that work are listed as having a 19inch barrel doubt the barrel length makes a difference but any review on here that's olderr then a year old shows there junk and any new review has good sucess plus on buds gun shop there is a 18inch listed one tons of bad reviews for 450 and one for 550 listed with a 19 inch barrel so if you pick one up the barrel length dertimes if its a new one i think

    The wood model is really nice. The rifle is limited to a 10 round magazine and faux bayonet lug to comply with Federal import laws. The prices on the wood M1 version is going for $650 USD in Gun shops. During the Trump Administration. These rifles sold for $450 USD.
    It runs reliably with 124 grain 9mm ammunition.
