    Hi Sean. I’ve enjoyed your video as usual. I have a big question? Is there a way that I can record my lead vocal or anybody else’s vocal lines and then go back and use waves harmonies as if I were playing the midi vocal lines but, not play the vocal lines. I noticed that you were playing through midi and singing your vocal lines. I wondering if I were by myself and no one was around could I use waves harmonies to produce the harmony parts without the singer or the musician being there in the room with me. Would you show on another video about this waves plug-in, what I am asking about, and show how it could be done please. Thank you in advance. As before I wish you continued success with all of you music videos and the rest of your music endeavors. I also wish you continued financial success as well. Have a wonderful day.

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! You do need an input source for Harmony to generate from. As long as you have a lead or a vocal take to use, you can create harmonies manually without singing in real time. Hopefully that answers your question :)

      OMG!!!! I spent 1 1/2 hrs trying to make this work until and watching tons of videos and reading the manual until I finally saw your comment!!! It's because It's an intensive processing plugin. so low latency turns off most of the effects that need heavy processing. I didn't realize I had my low latency mode still turned on. You didn't know it at the time, but your comment was a sanity saver, THANK YOU!!

  • @AnuragDixitMuzic
    @AnuragDixitMuzic ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I tried this plugin (& vocal bender) but in a real mixing situation, the harmonies created are barely audible. I assign the 'lead vocal' on one mixer channel and a DT vocal (not a copy of lead vocal but a separate vocal take) on another channel. Then I use the waves harmony plugin on the DT track. Somehow, the harmonies are not clearly audible in the mix and they almost blend with the lead vocal. In this video and the waves demo videos, you can clearly hear the harmonies, but they are not using harmony vocals along with a 'lead vocal' -something that you do in a real mixing session. When you use harmonies along with a lead vocal track ( even if the harmonies are created with a DT track) -you can not hear the harmonies. That's the same issue with 'vocal bender' plugin. A major disappointment or am I missing something? ( I am using a DT vocal track for producing harmony and I'm processing the harmony channel with appropriate compression, saturation etc)

    Hi Sean, thanks for the video. I just recently purchased Waves Harmony. I was unsure whether I should buy Waves Harmony or Vocal Bender. So, I decided to go with this one. You mentioned just think of Waves Harmony like having 8 vocal benders. Would you say that Waves Harmony can do "everything" that Vocal Bender does and plus more? I was thinking to buy Vocal Bender but if Waves Harmony does what it does, then I wouldn't to have 2 plugins that can serve the same purposes. What's your take on Waves Harmony in comparison to Vocal Bender as far as their compared features? Also, are those your songs that your playing? If so, wow they sound really nice. Thanks Sean

    • @SeanDivine
      @SeanDivine  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. Harmony is essentially 8 "souped up" Vocal Bender engines in one with a lot of other features added. If you have Harmony, you can do everything Vocal Bender can do and a lot more. I still use Vocal Bender for simpler tasks, especially in larger sessions to keep things efficient... and yes they're my songs, thank you! 😊

      No latency. CPU can get high, if you're using lots of voices with many instances of the plugin.

  • @nwcic
    @nwcic ปีที่แล้ว

    Great design. Doesn't work for me live. Even with a fast low-latency laptop. Using it in sections in Presonus Studio One 5 Shows, it comes in late, pops coming in, or both. It's impossible to move the actuation forward on the timeline to anticipate the delay. I usually have 4-7 effects per chain, using 8-11 channels. But this plugin has a latency issue, even alone on the effects chain. Perhaps next rev.

    I can see me using this for some vocal flavors, instead of using samples.

    I wish the instrumental just stayed with the beginning intro throughout with 808s

    How’s the CPU usage on this

      No issues here thus far! Keeping in mind, if you get carried away with many instances in the same session it will add up quickly. It's like having 8 vocal bender plugins in 1.

    Wait... I don't need to play my keyboard to get harmony? You are just playing for backing right

      I show 3 different ways to use it in the video. You don't have to use a midi keyboard unless you want to.

    I think it has a great gui and good usability, but it's no different from eventide octavox, which I really like, but it's not realistic at all. I believe that the examples in the various demonstration videos have a specific study behind them that make them work well (nothing in the videos is improvised now), but in reality it is good that you do your tests with the demo version

      Fair enough! Just to clarify, with the exception of the song I was recording to, all my vocals were improvised :)
