As for the doorman … I put the meter on when he talks to me .. if the punters are right there all good. If they are coming out I’ll reset so they see me turning it on at the window … I ain’t sitting there waiting for them with the meter off !!!
Was it a "Good Friday"? That massive grin of yours right at the start rather gave the game away!😀 Good on you, Ollie, 👍and thanks for this unexpected-but always welcome-video. "Part 2" even without the map view would still be good to watch, but if you've already got something else lined up to post then no problem. Keep 'em coming! Michael
Thank you Michael. I have the camera footage saved. Just trying to work out a way of sharing the routes without copying other/bigger Taxi TH-camrs style. I’m hoping next week I can have new videos Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Then it’ll be 2 a week for the foreseeable future. 👍
Great video again Ollie and I like the new circle map in the bottom corner 🤙🏻 please post as many videos as you can even if the map disappears. With being on the knowledge all the visual videos are helping me learn cheers
Thank you. I like the circle too. I’m just trying new things to see what is better to look at. I’m hoping I can upload this coming Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. 2 of which will be one day split into 2 parts. Most weeks I’m aiming for Thursday and Sunday uploads but I’ll always try and get an extra up on a Tuesday where I can. Thanks for your continued support
Thank you. I’m so happy you like the videos. Good luck on your knowledge journey. Get that 4th book done, get to school and start pointing asap! Good luck 🍀
Just started the knowledge. Barely memorised first two blue book runs. 😂😂😂 hoping to be in your situation one day but it feels like a million miles away. Ps nice calm vids too
😅I kid you not, this was on my recommendation page I clicked on it. You know what I enjoyed it great stuff love seeing all the different places, sights & locations Thank you is not often ☺️🙌YT hardly gives me something entertaining to watch but this one by the grace of God I really enjoyed it can’t wait for more daily’s As of the time I writing this I have finished the video onwards to the rest of your videos Great stuff Keep it up 👍✅
That’s brilliant to hear. Thank you so much for taking the time out to leave such a nice comment. It’s really appreciated. I’m trying to upload at least twice a week for the foreseeable future. It’s still a new channel and I’m learning with every video.
Thanks Michael. I certainly don’t wait for the customer to get in. It’s doorman hail/speak to them meter on. Too many times, customers drag their heels while you’re sitting there waiting.
The Doorman issue is all down to a cabbies sense of fair play. You can either put the meter on once hailed or wait until you see the whites of the customers eyes, which was my way.Personnal choice innit.
Thanks for another kind comment. I always waited for customer to be seated before starting the meter but had it at the Kimpton Fitzroy a while back. Doorman hailed me, left me sitting there for well over 10 minutes waiting (while 3 separate customers asked if I was available) I then got cc legalled on a Euston. Since that day, if the doorman wants a cab, the meter goes on when spoken to. For me that’s the point of hire. Any other time, customer can chat at the window or ask “my ….. is coming now” I’ll wait without starting the meter
The only Bank Holidays I would drive my cab on would be Xmas/New Years(New Years Eve particularly),because as this gentleman points out,Bank Holidays are NOT that great due to the higher tariff.
good video the wait and return job how do you price that job? i used to charge full fare there then half fare back plus any waiting time. and i will watch watever you put up ive enjoyed the videos many thanks
Thank you Jason. This one was on the meter, as i lose commission through the app it was booked. Plus it was an inside London job. For longer distance wait and return jobs I’ll price up based on mileage/time on the job 👍
Thanks Kane. I’ll include it in a Q&A video but happy to share now. I was 2 year 4 months from Manor House to Handshake. I lost nearly 4 months of appearances due to covid
Good video mate , just on the point of dropping off on the side door , the driver that was having a scream up ,was within his rights too , he see you drop off on a rank , which technically you’re not meant to do so the next job is his , his mindset might have been that that job was a roader ,you did the right thing mate , the front rank gets abused all the time with drivers dropping on the rank , hanging around, whilst other drivers can’t put on for fear of getting a ticket, therefore drive past , whilst the monkey bastard is now on the rank , I know people will argue that there were no cabs there , but that doesn’t make it right , what you could of done is let him take the first job , then you the next one , you did the right thing and karma payed you back with a job straight away , some of us like to play the game straight with the unwritten gentlemen rules of the trade and there’s plenty who don’t , keep up the good content and be lucky 👍
Thanks Jason. Yeah you’re not wrong mate. Customer wanted side door, so I did make a point of not pulling onto the rank to drop off. I couldn’t go past the rank as there was a vehicle blocking me. It was more, that there was definitely 2 jobs, maybe more. Also being Harrods it’s more than likely a Selfridges but yeah, next job 100% was the drivers behind, I would have jumped out the cab and passed the job back either way but I know that there are plenty of chancers in our trade and there was no way the driver behind was to know what I would do. I turned my light off, drove forward, checked no lights were on behind me before putting mine back on and going on the next rank. Thanks for your comment and support. It’s really appreciated 👍
@@ALondonCabbie I've been playing the north London map of geoguessr so I was really curious where it was. I googled Camden hill road thinking it would be in Camden town but it's a random street south of London. then I rewatched that section and followed your nifty map along with maps to see campden...haha.
I do believe he had issues from previous videos but I don’t think it was due to not having their permission. I’m hoping that I shouldn’t need to 🤞 no customers are filmed entering/exiting the taxi, no voices are recorded other than mine. In a public place, you can record anyone, no permission is needed. Once they are on private property or in a Taxi which has been hired then the law is different. Just because I’ve blurred a face, doesn’t mean they were my actual customer 😉
Live these vids mate. I’m not in the trade any more but really enjoy these videos, very reminiscent. I would start the meter when the passenger got in. 👍🏼
Thank you. Really appreciate your comments. I did that before however I got hailed at Kimpton Fitzroy and waited over 10 minutes for the customer. In the meantime several passers by had asked if I was available. From that day the meter goes on once I’m outside the hotel, especially if the doorman speaks to me
Thanks for your kind comments. I’d definitely recommend you take a look at WizAnn Knowledge school. They have a TH-cam channel full of information. You can purchase all of the study material you’ll need and the apps they have are brilliant. Dean is the best in the business and WizAnn is the longest running knowledge school out there for a reason 👍
Nice video again , really enjoyed . I got idea what my day will look like as London cabbie 🎉🎉
Thanks for taking the time out to comment. Every day is different although you’ll find there are certain points you drop at all the time

👍👍 Yes Guvnor, Part 2 please. Good content is Good content whatever the circumstances and a bum on the seat/view .👌
I still have the footage I’m trying to work out a way of uploading it without it being boring.
@@ALondonCabbie We/your Fans are waiting 😃good content is never boring 👍
Thanks again mate. Please upload the second part since you’ve recorded it.
Thanks again
Thank you Nasir. I have a couple of uploads scheduled already. I’ll see what I can do (edit wise) so hopefully it’s not too boring 👍
Nice to see my house on Weston St briefly show there!!❤

Do you still use satnav when dropping of customers?
Once we’ve completed the knowledge of London, taxi drivers can use whatever aids they/we like to assist with route planning
