That was my first thought too. These are way too dangerous for beginners. Get a Cessna 150/172 or something similar and work your way up with practice.

For the speed car, try putting some fuel tubing to limit the rear shock travel! This makes it still spongey, but not enough to lift the front higher when the rear squats.
Nah, he straight up put a turn buckle there so that in theory, no air can get under it and make it backflip

Kev you should design and have made a custom chassis with defusers and under Areo inbuilt not separate screw on parts inbuilt like the new supercars like 911 GT3 man a chassis made like that would surely allow much better speeds and downforce. Then you can start on having the wheels machined or printed in some fancy composite

Hey Kev you should try to have some rubber tires made with KEVLAR braided belting and aluminum dish wheels for the sausage.
It seems the problem with the wheels on the sausage (and all speed cars) is the use of an additional glued-on 'tyre' surface - ie, foam, etc. Is there a way to avoid this weak link by doing away with a 'tyre' as such? So the wheel was just one solid material that incorporated a running surface?
Hey Kev, before you spray the chassis part, use self etching primer first. That should give you a good base to lay down the black paint on.
Hey, Kev. Try some acid etching primer on that aluminum to make the paint stick. Aluminum can be a paint to coat correctly.

What about if you modify
Skateboard wheels...
you have a small lathe
thrust ssc used metal wheels - you have to do the same.
I won't go into specifics but in essence that won't work because wheels that are driven need traction and there wouldn't be any. Thrust SSC was pushed so only rode on the wheels and they were solid metal for many other reasons.
The rubber tread would have to sit on the inside of a carbon or steel rim keeping it in place. I think it can be done but it takes some slim picking of compound and cutting wheels. The compound may need to be injected into the rim. Someone with patience could perhaps weave the right carcass and make it a mini car tyre.

204MPH on the sausage is pretty fast. You could try treading the foam on the wheels it could help, not sure though 🤷♂️

DON'T PAINT THE ALUMINUM, have it anodized, it will look and perform much better.
Plus, I do believe anodizing actually helps to strengthen the aluminum.
Hmmm ....They reduced my holiday to 4 days this year due to work demands. Hardly get a chance to do my RC stuff. So I sold, got rid of all my RC cars. No I have not stopped my hobby. Just decided to make a fresh start. Bought myself a Typhon TLR roller and electronics, Dboots etc. And concentrate on the occasional speed run, which I enjoy. I'm obsessed with speed.😁
At 10:29 I see you have your Official 2026 Isle of Man TTRC (not really a thing, but I know a guy) prototype motorcycle on the wall but I'm not sure it is ready for a full circuit race at 200+ MPH.

Larger diameter wheels, 10mm wide, 15-20cm diameter, rubber tyres. The rubber will suffer less from centrifugal/centripetal forces on a larger diameter wheel.
Will require upside down 🤔 portal type axles?

Try to find VHT roll cage paint for the Raminator. Itll stick and hold up. Just getting into flying real airplanes myself. But more into bush planes and STOL comps. A little safer and simpler but kinda like plane drag racing.
hey Kev, where can i buy some 1075 aluminum axles? im asking because my current aluminum axles keep blowing apart on my traxxas slash (it puts out way too much torque).
Next Step has to be inflatable Rubber Tires with a fabric and metal mesh imbedded in them. Like Full Size cars

I recon its time you got serious with the land speed xlub record .... i've been waiting and watching for some time now , ( electric blowers ) till they became the same power voltages as everything else and the capasity of wind turbine flows ..... which are unbelieveable ..... bigger frame so the bumps dont allow wind under the vehicle and front mount splitters for 200 mile plus .... use the nitro platform for a bigger plateform and dump it on its guts ..... o still think you should consider scooter wheels ....... get it on ! 😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈😈

hi kev, has any one in the RC world tried using poly bushes(those big ones used on car sub frame bushings) for rc land speed tyres/wheels, you can get diffrent compond types of bushings, soft to hard. would need some one with a lathe to turn them down to size. any ways just a thought. would make a nice lil bit of destructive testing content.
With the speed cars, I feel like everything that gives downforce to the car cannot effect the chassis(no squad or minimum squad). Just like the serpents cars. The body and the wing should be connected to the car as close to the wheels as possibly. Most get unstable with higher speed because the airo changes with squad
If you do this again use bigger wheels that are very skinny so you can maximize speed over weight on the wheels 😅

I could be forgetting the convo but what about tire "glue". I mean the stuff drag racers use to help their tires stick.
Honestly, I believe the runway being used for the competition is too rough. I've seen many/most speed record attempts that are on youtube and your tire issues have to be the worst. No fault of your own as you've tried every wheel and tire brought to your attention and they've all failed. Most causing catastrophe.
I guess a wheel speed/ground speed combo limiter/traction control system wouldn’t be practical for the speed cars?

Hey Kev. For your speed wheels issues, did you consider skateboard wheels? They are rubber, and they are heavy, but the silicone they're made of seems pretty tough. Maybe they can hold up.
Powder coat those parts for the big truck. It will keep up with your bashing 😉 Just beware it will be a thicker coat than spray can. Love your vids as always.
Think you just need taller tires and different gearing to survive 200mph+
Did you ever think about machining hockey pucks for wheels ? The size is about the same and it's pretty hard rubber.
How about modding some skateboard wheels to fit on the saussage? They seems quite sturdy. You could machine some hubs to fit them on.

Build a titanium 2.5" diameter by 3/8" wide wheel with a urethane bonded tire. Light weights and indestructible.

rlaarlo makes the fastest out the box rc its a ak787 carbon its twin motor and does 126 mph out the box its a small 1/10th
The sausage has too much weight for the amount of tire area. Not only does it need to deal with 200mph centripetal forces but the extra downforce from the weight.
Try making it lighter or add wider tires.
You need acid etch primer for aluminium /Galvanised steel for paint to stick to it properly ..

Kev, don't waste your time spraying the aluminium chassis with a rattle can. Get in touch if you want to talk about anodising it.
Kev, if you want to paint aluminum, you need to use an iron oxide primer. Then your paint will stick.

maybe try honeycomb cardboard with a rubber tire around the carboard and a plastic thingy in the middle to connect the tires(just a idea for the tires)
You may want to go with larger wheels so that they spin slower at 204 mph. Not sure how the math works out though, but if they spin slower then rubber weight becomes less of an issue

What if you try wrapping the outside of the foam with black hockey stick tape? Like a belted tire and it still has a bit of grip
