  • Italy’s prime minister has warned that Europe will be overwhelmed by migration unless the EU finds solutions.
Italy currently receives the largest number of people smugglers, boats carrying asylum seekers and other migrants in to Europe.
Many people then try to travel on to countries across the continent.

If he wants to study in the UK, use the legal student routes, as the original commenter mentioned. But either way, as a non-EU person he's gonna be paying extortionate university fees. It's already expensive for UK citizens. Places like Belgium are actually much more affordable for non-EU people. I have brief experience applying there. Ireland and the UK are very expensive for non-EU applicants. I think a better idea would be to just study a skill that is valued in the marketplace at a Nigerian college, then apply for a skilled worker visa in the EU or UK.

As a Czech, I know what I'm talking about (My homeland was invaded by nazis as the first and after we killed Heidrich, the second highest nazi, hell started here.).. But what is really missing in Europe is I think the healthy portion of nationalism, national proudness and pragmatic policy... Not in the way of Nazis, but something like the Danish immigration policy today which shown itself as a working solution with positive results.. I think the mistake is, that exists more debates with topic: "How the muslims feels in Europe" instead of: "How the Europe feels about their muslim temporary guests."

      Temporary guests ?
The problem with Nationalism is that it doesn't work in a cooperative marketplace.
How can individual members of a union be Nationalist when the whole point of having a Union was to prevent inter-European wars, which are by their very nature Nationalistic ?
Nationalism gets in the way of cooperation and so many facets of modern day life are global.
      Nationalism is selfish and insular.

    • @user-mo7tx3fj7q
      @user-mo7tx3fj7q 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dondoodat
Exactly, temporary guests... They came illegally and most of them are economic migrants. Go visit Africa or middle east (not Israel or Saudi or Emirates) and you will see the truth. To get behind European borders is winning for them all and not depends if is war in their country or not. Of course, war is horrible, but I refuse to be a worlds charity, because it will kill us.. I'm for the support poor countries, but only with money in that countries, because what is needed, is to establish working society there, so let's help with improving education, Infrastructure etc..
And I do not agree with everything you stated..
The key thing in Europe is competition between subjects, which accelerates the market. This was always the engine of Europe and when you still let the Schengen area and the free market in Europe (EU) to exist, that solves the problem. (Because of danger from Russia, Europe is united the most it has ever been) War in Europe is not good for anyone from Europe (EU), because it destroys business for everyone..
Nationalism is selfish... Yes that's true and that's also how politics works and I do not think this is bad.. Every politician needs to fight for their country to get the best result and this is the competition. Nobody had invented better system. F. E. communism without competition failed.. Problem in this point is, that you expect, that people won't be selfish because you probably think you're not selfish or I don't know, but that's not how the human nature works and also the reason, why the capitalistic competition works, because it is natural for the people. So I think selfish is to expect something different and this behavior is very BAD in society I think.. It is very narcissistic to think like this and narcissism is the biggest illness of the people in the rich countries I think.
And that nationalism blocks cooperation? I think this is not necessarily true. I don't know why it should be.. When two nations have same interests, what blocks the cooperation? I think most Europeans know, that we need to be able to compete China in the economic way and establish more independent Europe by the time, so the interests in Europe are not too different I think. It is only about the way how to chase it. I described only the pragmatic goals of course (and not all of them), because I do not support ideological suicide of Europe in any way (economic or security). I support ecology, but only in rational way and thanks to the EU for starting to realize this..

They have free housing, money from the government every month and he just got a new BMW. His wife does not work but pops babies every year. @@ront2424 Honestly speaking 25 years ago I was for immigration and even allowing genuine asylum seekers the chance to get to the UK even through irregular routes. Now it's turned into a slick operation. Even progressive institutions like the UN and EU state that 50% of arrivals aren't genuine asylum seekers. I knew once a few boats made it over safely that would be it. It gave implicit legitimacy and created a new route. When they sent pictures home of their hotel it was a perfect advertisement and word spread around. Why pay for a visa and have to sort out our own accommodation? When you can pay a few thousand euros throw away your passport and get free accommodation and meals. Paying the French to try and defend a 600 mile coastline is ridiculous. The numbers will simply increase exponentially. Australia is regarded as a democratic and upstanding country. Turning back the boats hasn't changed this. They still have a lot of immigration. It's now by choice. Why can't we be like Australia?

@@JitzyJT Japan has no more automation than any other developed country. The problem there is the young people do not want those kind of jobs because they have been raised in an education system that now virtually only focuses on either high end engineering design or general white collar careers and not much in between. Just like the U.K has been doing since the 90’s. The decline has nothing to do with lack of immigration. 125 million people on an island chain similar in size to the UK is not suffering from a lack of people especially as the retirement age in every country is increasing. They are suffering from a lack of money to pay all the pensions and a culture (like the West) that has made manual work seem something of the past.
What needs correcting there is education system and career propaganda. Too many administration jobs, lawyers and accountants and not enough people to do the actual work. Japan is notorious (I go there regularly) for unnecessary administration and top heavy organisations. It needs a good reshuffle not an influx of more people.

But the left want to live in an uncontrolled borderless world where we all sit around making daisy chains and teaching each other to sing. They can't see that their virtuous outlook on the world is not reality, and that too much too soon of anything causes disharmony and division. The West is slowly becoming right wing, and it's all the left wing's fault

I'm sorry but the world has gone crazy, I accidentally filled in the wrong forms after I came to the UK. I had the church and newspapers fighting for me as everything I told everybody was legitimate. On that day my husband couldn't come to be centre as he was working and would have lost his job. Due to a series of events I was sent back to South Africa with my four children, if I had been forcibly removed I would have not been able to come back for 10 years. I had to reapply from South Africa lost the £1,000 that I originally paid when I filled in our forms and had to pay again but it was the most wonderful day when we were granted us citizenship. A lot of heartache a lot of hard work a lot of cost and a lot of paperwork and I was married to somebody in the UK. I imagine it must be difficult for people in countries way things are not running the way that they should but to overwhelm other countries is totally illegal if the whole of Africa has to move over into Europe it will be another Africa I'm sorry to say it but it is true. All the bleeding hearts in the world have forced their opinions onto nations who have the right to protect their people but cannot use them because of stupid laws and human rights in inverted commas. The people who have worked hard both homes built businesses and live in these European countries will be overwhelmed and completely and utterly destroyed just like parts of the UK which are now completely taken over by immigrants and are a mess a disaster and have no value whatsoever. Exactly as in South Africa the hard-working taxpayers will be expected to support the millions of people who refuse to work who do not want to pay rates and taxes who do not want to pay electricity and water It will be the few supporting the many. We have to be real about the situation this is illegal and this is invasion.

There has to be immediate deportation as permanent deterrence to stop this kind of economical mass- migration and only orderly and legal immigration , and work visas .

I’m pro _legal_ immigration strictly controlled by the host country and obviously pro accepting *genuine* asylum seekers/refugees. However, the chaos we have seen these past 5 years (at least) whereby millions of (mainly economic) migrants try to essentially ‘break into’ Europe is unacceptable to the *vast* majority of Europeans. If the powers that be don’t get a proper grip of this issue, it’s no exaggeration to say that a substantial proportion of Europeans will be not just voting for vaguely right of centre parties, but _fully_ right of centre parties.
