@@ArktixOfficialall good and understood but how do you equip sustained burst on your bolt blaster ? Or douse sustained burst come as standard on the best bolt blasters ? @@RESISTANCE..3 So, Sustained Burst is a Weapon Technique, which is a particular type of skill. It's available on all bolt blasters. First, you need to unlock the skill. Then, you need to select it as the active Weapon Technique from the options you can see inside the weapon wheel (hold open weapon wheel and use left/right d-pad if you're on controller). As for weapon slots, you start with 6 and you will always have 6. You can not unlock more than 6 weapon slots. However, you may be confused because you see many more ammo types in my weapon wheel. This is not because I've unlocked additional weapon slots. It's because I've upgraded my weapons to unlock additional ammo types on them. Weapons can have up to 3 ammo types and you will see these all show up in the weapon wheel. Upgrade your weapons and you'll see what I mean.
Started watching you a few weeks ago when it dropped on PC! Absolutely fantastic content, really love your channel! One question I have is when would you suggest starting the burning shores DLC?? I've got the first three AI's you merge with Gaia, so explored most of the map but not a lot of the side quests!
Hey thanks! Glad you're enjoying my videos 😁 As a few other people mentioned, you won't be able to do Burning Shores until you finish the base game's main quests. If you're only planning to do a single playthrough, I would recommend doing all the side content in the base game that you want to do before going to The Burning Shores. It will be tougher combat-wise, so you'll want to get all the gear you want first and upgrade it. Plus, it's an epic end to the story. Hope you enjoy it!

Tie down, freeze, hit weak spots, was already the meta in Horizon ZD. It's crazy that they added all these new weapon types but failed to balance them in a way that different playstyles are equally rewarding.
I don't know if I'm stupid but it doesn't work for me. I am trying to get fireclaw sac webbing and since I can't bring them down without destroying the sac i tried your method. The fireclaw very often just destroys the ropes immediately after I attach them. Usually I get it tied down once, but I've never managed to tie it down two times, it always destroys many of my ropes (I tried overdrawing each ropecaster shot, it doesn't make a difference), and since I am so close up so that I can use the rope caster, it always kills me very quickly. The best boltblaster I have right now is the skystrike one (fully upgraded and of course coiled), but that isn't enough to kill it in one round. I don't have the legendary because I have not completed much of the arena yet - the reason I am farming all the difficult machine parts is to fully upgrade my current weapons so I have an easier time in the arena...
thanks for your guides! I've finished the main story on UH+ and even with all legendary gear and coils I have now it is still a challenge for me to get that damn apex slaughterspine 🤭
Honestly, I find the easiest, most trouble free way to take out any machine quickly is to simply freeze it, & then just unload on it w your best Warrior Bow loaded w Crit Chance coils, starting with the Spread Shot ability til you run out of Stamina. Even better if it has the Elite Crit coil! This will absolutely SHRED pretty much anything in the game with ease! Wareior Bows w a Crit build are just SO OP in tbis game!
If you get a sharpshot bow and spikethrower at high enough rarity to have advanced ammunition, you can kill any machine in just a few hits, in seconds. Ranged master, frost it, propelled spike, braced shot, then at that point it's either super dead or you can pick it off with anything you'd like.
I use this method for farming all large machines except if I need sac webbing. Helps to have good coils and a hunter armor, too, as well as low health for those boosts.
So I’ve been using this strategy before I even knew that this video existed I’m glad this strategy is actually viable nonetheless thanks for the advice I guess I’ll keep using this lol
Hey Arktix, I know you've discussed this ad nauseam in past videos, but I'm struggling to choose a difficulty. I played HZD on Ultra Hard (NG+ though) and have played souls-like games with relative ease. Is a fresh play through on Ultra Hard going to be manageable in your opinion?
It’s certainly doable, but very challenging. I’m doing an UH playtrough from scratch right now on my streams. I have 1200+ hours in the game and it’s still relatively challenging. Once you get better gear though, it becomes much more balanced. If you aren’t sure, you could try starting on VH and play through The Daunt and if you feel like that’s too easy you could restart on UH.

I just gotta say, my man, you're doing absolutely stellar. I've been watching you for a few years now. Seeing your channel grow, your content become more and more polished, it's a real treat to see you getting some well-deserved attention and appreciation. Your Horizon content is top-notch, as always. Just wanted to give a shout out for the best machine hunter on TH-cam (in my opinion). Hope things continue to go well for you. Looking forward to watching your guides and videos when Horizon 3 and Nemesis (spoiler? 🤫🙃) land on Earth. Thanks for this bright spot on the internet! Cheers!
Is the green Ropecaster not recommended for use on Very Hard difficulty? I have been using it so far on Normal difficulty and have not encountered any significant issues in tying down larger machines. While it may be somewhat time-consuming, I have not found it to be unusable.
True, at normal and lower it's probably ok. I haven't played on normal for a long time, so I guess I was a bit skewed towards higher difficulties here.
Nah the Green one is total fine for where you get it, but there is the gap around Plaiinsong area, where none of the Blues are yet available and you can´t do much to improve Ropecasters.
Hei, do you have any tips to take down storm bird and get its cannon? Thankyou for the guide, after watching your guide, i think its easier take down apex fire claw than apex thunderjaw 😂
The Trouble with the cannon: It´s Tear limit is x4 higher then it´s Healh Limit, so the safest are Tear Precision Arrows aka Tearblast Arrows. Also pick them up immediatly and try to keep them in view when falling down, or you have to search afterwards.
I prefer Anchor ropecaster than elite one. Elite ones require that volatile sludge i think or something like that so its hard to craft them beacuse these resources are very rare. Same goes for literally every rarest weapon. I prefer to use weaker max upgraded weapons like purple bows instead of gold beacuse i will have a lot of ammo and wont struggle with that volatile sludge to find it.
I love your videos, pretty much kitted out my entire Ultra Hard Set-up with your advice. I’m doing very well thanks to that. You’re one of my favorite content creators of any game. Any way to support you other than subscribe/likes?
You have to do a masterclass for all machine takedown in one video it will be very helpful. Especially for best weakpoint, farming ressources and such. Because most of the Times, i kill my target before having any key ressources. Target moves too much or i'm doing too much damage.
You can turn on the easy loot option. That way components can be looted even if you don't tear them off. I still play Ultra hard and use very precise shots and strategies. Barely use rooecaster . But it just annoys me to be always super carefull to tear off components. I prefer focus on killing the machine many ways and have fun instead
Please do another video on how to deal with human enemies. Most of them have armor and helmet now, making it hard to one shot them even with a Sharpshot bow.
Have you seen his "Underrated Gear Video" video? th-cam.com/video/qqYeaBx8Gi8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YVhztSp8fOjOsN3B&t=241 with timestamp, but i suggest watch it all 🙂
@@paristeta5483 I have, actually, and the piercing ammo doesn't always pierce through armor and masks, as you can see in the video. I'm looking for a more reliable way to kill human enemies, especially on Ultra Hard.
@@brahmantyoihsan5938 They always pierce? Reliable up to level 50 on UH? No, even with Gravesinger and all Coils available, you´ll need Valor Surge or a Crit, to one Shot Heavy Melee/Gunner and Champions barely survive. So the best bet is using ADv. PRecison Arrows and aim for inbetween Armor pieces. Heared Elite Arrows are bugged and ignore armor too on humans. Not sure did not test it, so you could use that, but haven´t done the math on them.
@@paristeta5483 Elite arrows aren't that much stronger than advanced precision arrow; but much more expensive. 3 volatile sludges for 3 arrows is a highway robbery. I even tried to stack low health ranged and stealth ranged, but still it wasn't enough to one shot some human enemies.
@@brahmantyoihsan5938 The suggest was to check, if Elite Arrows do indeed Ignore Armor or not, tehn you would ahve high damage when needed, and Armor Piercing. To compare base damage values Regular/Piercing/Advanced/Elite = 50/60/85/102.
Your Agility Elemental Shredder + Frozen Sustained Burst makes Ultra Hard very manageable. Ancestor’s Return is fun as hell and makes a group of UH machines look like practice dummies.

Yeah you can trigger a canister, but hitting it and the chain reaction explosion will deal damage that degrades the tiedown state quickly. Instead, I would just directly freeze them with a strong frost weapon anyway. Even machines that are resistant to frost will be frozen if you deal enough frost damage. The exception would be Frostclaws, which are immune to frost buildup. For them, apply the drenched state with purgewater ammo first, then proceed to freeze them like normal.
There's something I don't get. In all your video presenting the Blast Forge, you talk about it being superior to the Brawl Breaker because of the last's 6% instant adesive chance perk. But doesn't the Blast Forge has a 6% instant shock perk? What's the difference that makes the BF great and the BB inusable?
Good question. I wish neither of them had instant chance perks, but shock is far more useful than adhesive. At least if the Blast Forge instant shocks an enemy and I can easily freeze them again while they’re shocked. If the Brawlbreaker instant adhesives an enemy, adhesive doesn’t really immobilize them much, so I find it more annoying.
What a strategy. Fortunately, i just bought a purple firebolt with 3 elements (shock, freez and acid) from a Tanakhth near the base. And at the same time i have unlocked that stationary burst skill as well. Def gonna aplly this strategy😊
Oh yeah definitely. Braced shot damage is set by the rarity of the bow and maxes out at 550. You can boost it with valor surges and such, but the total damage potential is far lower than sustained burst.
Tie downs aren't as effective in Forbidden West IMO. I don't use them often because of the resource consumption. I'm playing on normal though, maybe it's more useful on ultra hard.
Also depends on difficulty. What you want is low damage but high Build Ratio, and before legendary boltblaster, they tend to do more damage then build up.
'you have to finish a single player game 5 times to max out 1 weapon' Not really I finished the game 4 times (so far) - 1- variable difficulty 2- hard (before ultra hard was available) 3 ultra hard 4 story difficulty (for fun with most weapons/outfits maxed out ) - but had my legendary hunter bow and at least one other legendary maxed out during my first playthrough. It was pure fun hunting for parts for most part - for frostclaw sac webbing I switched off the destruction of parts because I was not good enough. Th game allows you to choose the difficulty level - you can have it easy , average and sometimes as hard as souls games - I fought slaughterspine in min quest of the burning shores expansion more than 15 times before succeeding. It is really up to you and I love that this game does not force ultra hard on players in order to make some some claim what 'pro' game it is.
Even following your guides the combat in HFW simply sucks especially 1v3 and more. I mean yeah you can grind and perfect your skills ( if you have patience to go through frustrating combat/fights ) but still It's a really bad combat design from development perspective. This game is considered "Casual" so majority of ppl will just wanna chill, will go through the story and uninstall after 80-90hours and definitely won't practice/memorize single skill tree for like 48+ hours alone as if it was some eSports Online game. Overall I guess the knockdown is the biggest issue since Aloy stays on the ground for way too long, then before she gets up there's another tail swing incoming and you're down again..
Not enjoying the huge learning curve and tweaked game mechanics. Basically have decided to put this game on the back burner and give it a proper play later.
this doesn't work at Ultra hard since it's impossible to one shot with ice arrows. can you care to show how you did it ? or will you keep deleting this comment ? cause its starting to get sus. i'm just trying to understand
I have not deleted your comment. Not sure why you think that? Haven’t seen you comment this before now. It is possible on ultra hard. You may need to do 2 rounds of sustained burst on some machines, as I clearly described in the video. You don’t need to one shot freeze the machine. I showed how the freezing works very clearly.
Bro what you talking about? Tremortusks are easy!
In all seriousness, thanks! This’s help me take them down faster
I love your videos, pretty much kitted out my entire Ultra Hard Set-up with your advice. I’m doing very well thanks to that. You’re one of my favorite content creators of any game. Any way to support you other than subscribe/likes?
Never mind, just found it in the description. Thanks again! Hope to see your content for future RPGs.
Thanks! I see you used the Super Thanks on another vid. Thank you very much for your generosity! Glad you’re finding my videos helpful 😁
@@FlatEarthPhotography good option, some part on few machine are difficult to reach 😅
@@togrid4816 indeed. It just frustrated me so I switched to easy loot since. Never looked back
Please do another video on how to deal with human enemies.
Thanks!
Your Agility Elemental Shredder + Frozen Sustained Burst makes Ultra Hard very manageable. Ancestor’s Return is fun as hell and makes a group of UH machines look like practice dummies.
Hey thanks a lot! Glad to hear you’re finding my videos helpful 😁 I really appreciate your support 🙏🏼🙂 Not sure if Discord is your thing, but you’re welcome in my server any time if you have questions or want to chat about Horizon. The link is in all my video descriptions. Anyway, thanks again!
@@ArktixOfficial sounds good. Just joined.
Awesome! I’ll see you there 🙂
Can you please make a short about the spectar gaulet please I’ve been a subscriber since 5k subs 🙏
Is that Thunderjaw site in the jungle still bugged?
Love ur content
Thank you! 😁
Very nice guide but very resource intensive. 😅😅😅😅
Shredder + Running are much cheaper.
Thanks i starded new game plus on ultra hard and had problems
Today I learned that the Thunderjaw's face gets wider when he does his charge attack
What about machines that are resistant to cold? U guess if they have a frost canister you could trigger it when it's tied down
Yeah you can trigger a canister, but hitting it and the chain reaction explosion will deal damage that degrades the tiedown state quickly.
Finally conquered the final boss of the main game! Now to go for Burning shores 🔥⛱ (UH ng+ btw)
if you need apex machines
set game to ultra hard then switch to easy or story when it spawns
Difficulty has nothing to do with Apex Spawn Rates.
@@ArktixOfficial Ok, I get it. Thanks for the tips!
How many hours you have spent on it ?
This is the way 😁
Haha yes 😁 Thanks Jerri!
1:04 hold up, that couldn't have been easy geez
What a strategy. Fortunately, i just bought a purple firebolt with 3 elements (shock, freez and acid) from a Tanakhth near the base.
And at the same time i have unlocked that stationary burst skill as well. Def gonna aplly this strategy😊
👍
Thanks! 😄
Hi, is horizon fun? Thinking of playing horizon
I mean, I’m biased because it’s my favorite game, but yes it’s really fun haha
That's cool
Thanks Norma! 😁
Guessing Sustained Burst is a better option than Braced Shot?
Oh yeah definitely. Braced shot damage is set by the rarity of the bow and maxes out at 550. You can boost it with valor surges and such, but the total damage potential is far lower than sustained burst.
Theee games are brutal hard on hard mode
genius.
Tie downs aren't as effective in Forbidden West IMO. I don't use them often because of the resource consumption. I'm playing on normal though, maybe it's more useful on ultra hard.
Nvm, managed to get it work. But you need to be very specific, it only works with frost bows, does not work with frost boltblaster.
Also depends on difficulty.
What you want is low damage but high Build Ratio, and before legendary boltblaster, they tend to do more damage then build up.
3:45 i absolutely hate that some idiot decided you have to finish a single player game 5 times to max out 1 weapon.
'you have to finish a single player game 5 times to max out 1 weapon'
Not really I finished the game 4 times (so far) - 1- variable difficulty 2- hard (before ultra hard was available) 3 ultra hard 4 story difficulty (for fun with most weapons/outfits maxed out ) - but had my legendary hunter bow and at least one other legendary maxed out during my first playthrough.
Absolute filth.
Love it.
Yall going crazy with ideas while I'm more than content one shotting a burrower with 8k damage 💀
BRITTLEBLASTING FOR THE WIN!
Overall I guess the knockdown is the biggest issue since Aloy stays on the ground for way too long, then before she gets up there's another tail swing incoming and you're down again..
still cant fucking beat them waterwings for the life of me. Good Lord, they suck.
How do you get 4996 damage in one shot?
🙃👍✌
this strategy seems really cheesy. I dont think I'd have fun playing like that.
It would agree is fairly cheesy. It’s meant to be a sort of “failsafe” in case someone is struggling with a particular machine.
Not enjoying the huge learning curve and tweaked game mechanics. Basically have decided to put this game on the back burner and give it a proper play later.
There are always streamlines Triple A games like Assassins Creed and Far Cry for more simpler gameplay. Maybe those suit your taste more?
This is what i do!!! Hahaha.
I like cheese
I used to love it, but now it just made that game boring...
Sure but then the game is just boring
don't forget without challenge the excitement to fight a powerful boss disappear
I would agree. The point of this strategy is to give people a way to kill machines they’re struggling with while farming for upgrade resources.
Lol you just broke the game
bullshit... these ways take toooooo long time, I kill much faster just hitting weak places
this doesn't work at Ultra hard since it's impossible to one shot with ice arrows. can you care to show how you did it ? or will you keep deleting this comment ? cause its starting to get sus. i'm just trying to understand
Please take another look if you don’t understand. If you still don’t understand, I’m happy to answer a specific question if you have one.
@@ArktixOfficial i appreciate the answer, but yeah, i did a comment and it myseriously disappeared. * side eyes. * But yeah, i tried to edit it , seeing how forthcoming and direct i was with it, so i guess it was my fault. I was just confused and trying to understand how this was possible. i've seen a lot of youtubers faking to be at Ultra Hard in the past and it infuriates me. But I won't lie, your tutorials seem truthful so i'm inclined to believe and trust. I like your content, keep up the good work ! and please ignore my AHDH. lol. its a wreck to live with, so excuse my lack of tact.YOUR TUTORIALS ARE FREAKING AWESOME BY THE WAY.
Who cares?! Nobody normal play ultra hard in a sigle player game😂
I do, it is infuriating, specially new game on UH. But I keep in mind that "I'm a squishy woman throwing sticks at giant robots."
