As soon as I saw the silent strike heal I was like "Why would I be at low health while sneaking? The healing flowers are everywhere and the entire point of stealth is to not have to fight. A.K.A. where you take most of your damage"
Exactly. That’s why it doesn’t end up being very useful. I suppose if you go in and out of stealth a lot using smoke bombs or something, then maybe it’s helpful, but most of the time, it’s a bit pointless.

Thanks for this. I wish I had known all that when I started the game a few days ago...and overlooked some skill synergies which would've made things much easier in the earlier game. For instance, I just discovered Critical Boost and now I'd like to know if it applies to ranged weapons. Does it?
It does! It works best for boosting the damage of critical STRIKES, but you’ll see it has stats for increasing the chance and damage of critical HITS, which occur with ranged weapons. It’s more effective for ranged weapons after upgrading to level 2 or 3.
thank you, i started playing 1 month and have watched your zero dawn most of content you have put on yt and same with horizon. and this was much needed. i'm on level 27 and after broken sky level. sun torched need upgraded and found the bellowback and the tail of rollerback and upgraded to level 4. so i actually didn't understood skill tree and thought i needed to unlock alot more then required. i would reset skill and follow your guide.
The Stealth Volar skill is my personal favorite. I find it helps tremendously with The Shadow In the West pt 2, facing Vezra and the Ravager. I also like the Braced Shot, as it tends to help with bigger machines and the more deadly of the smaller ones, such as the Stalker. And with Stalkers, it's to where I try to remove their dart guns first, since they can do so much damage.
General post about your channel: Great videos, the detailing of how damage systems worked was nice. Knew most of it but I had no idea elemental 'straight damage' was basically elemental impact, I thought it had something to do with the build up. Like having it last longer, or something. Your suggestion of having a small impact icon in the corner better make it into Horizon 3.

Surprised you didn't have Stealth Stalker in here. I haven't used all of the valor surges in depth yet, but in the early game on Very Hard, I found it to be incredibly useful when most attacks don't feel like they're dealing damage.

@@ArktixOfficial I don't use beserk ammo, but Beserk Blast Rank 3 lasts such a long time (60 seconds) I have literally aggroed an entire group of 5 enemies together all medium or larger machines and used the ability, then ran away with a smoke bomb and watch them all kill each other with 1 remaining at the cost of zero ammo. But its not universally good either, its weak vs flying machines like sunwings and completely useless vs human enemies unless they happen to be riding or have machines allies. Question. Do you really need Tripple Notch? The reason I ask is if it tasks a damn long time to load those three arrows, that can get you killed real fast.
Honestly the melee skills are ONLY useful against human enemies. Against machines a bow (or basically any other weapon) is ALWAYS a better option! So I would definitely argue with prioritising melee skills over hunter ones.
Later on, absolutely. Early on though, melee is much stronger, particularly critical strikes. The early bows are very weak. We might have to agree to disagree on this one 😉
Seeing as this is your most recent video and more likely to read it, just wondering as I have just started the "new game plus". Are the weapons and outfits any better than the main game?
Yeah some of the NG+ weapons are very good! Particularly, Iriv’s Downfall. I have a video about all the NG+ weapons comparing them to the base game weapons.
@@kjellbeatsdo you mean sue him as in “pursue him”? You can’t do that just yet, but you better train for when you can, because he’s really good at this. :-)
Hey! You’re right that triple notch becomes less valuable later on. It only gives 2.1x damage for most ammo types. So, with the extra reload time on advanced ammos, I find it’s not usually worth it mid-fight. I do often start off an encounter with triple notched arrows though.
game sux, the tedious process of having to travel all over the place to determine the time of the day to see if the dam apex variant appears plus to craft ammunition after every fight after buying resources from the merchant, and so on and on makes an ultra-hard run unbearable all accompanied by horrible animations and game interfaces for fuck sake at the 50th hour you will quit just because of that quality of life 0
I’ve considered it, but, unfortunately, it’s just not very useful compared to other weapons, especially since they removed the weird glitchy spark feature it had initially. I guess it can still be ok on lower difficulty levels.
Hey I can't find info on it anywhere, is there any way to turn on loot indicators when you selected explore mode at the start? like chests machine components etc? like in zero dawn (I cba to perma spam the focus button xD these icons go away way too fast)
Oh wow... I had no idea that silent strike heals disabled the low health boosts! That is SUPER weird! Why in the hell would that even happen? Sounds more like a Glitch than something intentional.... Hope it gets fixed!
Critical boost is a Valor Surge, therefore you do not attach it to a weapon. To use it you must equip it in the skill tree then hold in L1, while doing that you will click R1. If you see her put paint on her face then congratulations you will now get more critical hits for a while after. This slowly drains the purple bar in the bottom corner once its fully drained it deactivates and you must charge it again by attacking enemys and sneak striking them.
As a couple people already mentioned, Critical Boost is a Valor Surge, so you don’t bind it to a weapon. You just equip it and then activate it by opening the weapon wheel and hitting the button shown in the upper right corner of the screen.
Sorry you found it hard to follow. Staying in one tree wouldn't have made any sense though. I wanted to show the order in which I recommend unlocking the skills and they're in multiple trees.
I’m with you, only worry about Heal skills being unlocked if you plan to use the Low Health build. Personally, I don’t enjoy the added complexity of operating in LH, so stealth and machine master are my jam. The recommendation here is sort of backward unless you really want Aloy gimping around with a grimace on her face and a red vignette on the screen that makes it easy to ignore peripheral threats on a build that is not very useful for early game. Some do, and I get it, but for most players in the early game, these skills are a nice safety net for necessarily stealthy approaches to conflict on harder difficulties. An end game respec for the LH build, however annoying, makes much more sense to me, and in the interim, no safety net for when Aloy is blindsided by a heavy hitter or breaks stealth.

Question. Do you really need Tripple Notch? The reason I ask is if it tasks a damn long time to load those three arrows, that can get you killed real fast.
What is good about chain burst is: it apply multiple element build up
Devs should add option for resetting skills from specific tree because full wipe is really just time wasting.
Bro....u r the Man...great video...thanks
Wait that rocket sharpshot technique used to be even MORE powerful?!
"In-FILL-traitor" is going to be stuck in my head now.
Good tips.
Haha thanks!
Gotta love Arktix 's videos. Just gotta.
Nice video. And what about 50+ skill points video
Hey bro thanks for ur guide ...Can u tell me how to chege fast travel key to a another key....My R2 key not working 😢😢
Watching this makes me feel unique and weird. I maxed machine master before anything else 😂
I wish you could turn a skill off or on when when the skill has been acquired. Too bad I've acquired almost all the skills before this tutorial.
@@ArktixOfficialagree about critical strike, which is indeed pretty useful in early game.
Thanks bro, really helped!
Glad you found this helpful!
@@ArktixOfficial Thank you Arktix, I much appreciate your quick response, I did pick it up earlier so will now upgrade it 😁
I'm not gonna sue you, but don't let it happen again :-)
I in fact am gonna sue him
@@kjellbeatsdo you mean sue him as in “pursue him”?
You can’t do that just yet, but you better train for when you can, because he’s really good at this. :-)
lol 😂 Thank you. I really dodged a bullet! 😁
Bring it! 😁
Haha thank you 🙏🏼😄
Hey Arktix.
I'm just wondering, at late game, is there any point triple notching. I remember using it loads in ZD, but find very little use in FW.
Hey! You’re right that triple notch becomes less valuable later on. It only gives 2.1x damage for most ammo types. So, with the extra reload time on advanced ammos, I find it’s not usually worth it mid-fight. I do often start off an encounter with triple notched arrows though.
Great tips, thanks
Can you make a second 50 skill points vid?
Seriously
I like how you can reskill without limitations.
Exactly what I need❤
Glad to hear that!
Love these videos and watch them on repeat as I play haha
game sux, the tedious process of having to travel all over the place to determine the time of the day to see if the dam apex variant appears plus to craft ammunition after every fight after buying resources from the merchant, and so on and on makes an ultra-hard run unbearable all accompanied by horrible animations and game interfaces for fuck sake at the 50th hour you will quit just because of that quality of life 0
Is it just my imagination or does it look like you're related to Adam from VivaLaDirtLeague?
Can u please make a spectar gaulet masterclass video
I’ve considered it, but, unfortunately, it’s just not very useful compared to other weapons, especially since they removed the weird glitchy spark feature it had initially. I guess it can still be ok on lower difficulty levels.
I understand, keep on the good work!
Can you make a short then, I’ve been a subscriber since you only have 8k subs. So PLEASE
Hey I can't find info on it anywhere, is there any way to turn on loot indicators when you selected explore mode at the start? like chests machine components etc? like in zero dawn
(I cba to perma spam the focus button xD these icons go away way too fast)
Yes - go into settings and switch the HUD visibility to "Custom". Then in Custom Settings, toggle "Interaction Markers" to "Always On
Oh wow... I had no idea that silent strike heals disabled the low health boosts! That is SUPER weird! Why in the hell would that even happen? Sounds more like a Glitch than something intentional.... Hope it gets fixed!
who is your favourite hzd content creator?
Have they removed smoke bomb heal and ropecadter expert? I dont see them on my skill tree...
dude, you're really good at this game. How many hours did you spend playing it? Impressive skills.
I really hope the passive can build up more than LV4, rebels are still easily spotted me in very hard
Unfortunately, as I described in the video, level 4 is a hard max.
@@ArktixOfficial Guess I have to learn some soild stealth skills😂😂
You should do more livestreams :)
Are there enough skill points to unlock everything since the burning shores update?
Yup. You’ll get more skill points in Burning Shores.
Is there a transcript for the skills you recommend?
first useful video.. and much better on 1.5 speed. hopefully you get rid of the stupid promotions to your other videos someday
Not sure what promotions you’re taking about? I haven’t done a sponsorship in any of my videos lately…
"so it ended up being 51 points. Sue me" 😂😂
Bro the most important thing, is the arena glitch working in pc??
Yup!
I cant bind critical boost to any weapon. How do I do it? Do I need a course or something for it?
Critical Boost is a valor surge, not a weapon technique. As I understand it, valor surges don't bind to any weapon, you just need to activate them.
@@RaidFiftyOne But I cant activate it or select it in the weapon wheel, but I have unlocked it in the skilltree
@@ArktixOfficial Cant equip it. but I have gotten it in the skilltree
I just focus on hunter, you will use the bow in every battle anyway.
braced shot prob worth it just for the animation :)
Stamina could've been used to enhance the weapon not hinder it. I hope GG gets rid of that nonsense.
passiv skills are the most confusing ??
Top notch guide on valor surges you made it so easy a kindergartener could do it
where do get the Skill Points at
What’s that outfit in the thumbnail?
What is hidden quick draw?
My version of the game on PS5 has 29 skills tree instead of 34 like on video. What’s wrong?
Do you have the Burning Shores DLC?
@@ArktixOfficial that’s what I thought. I do not. Thanks for clarification
No problem!
This would've been much easier to follow had you just stayed in one tree at a time. Useful information and write descriptive but difficult to follow.
Sorry you found it hard to follow. Staying in one tree wouldn't have made any sense though. I wanted to show the order in which I recommend unlocking the skills and they're in multiple trees.
Me playing on ps4 with 200+ unused skills points 😂
Bro but how do I farm apex behemoths
But what about my next 50 skill points?
It feels like you are married to this game 😂
It does…doesn’t it? 😂
Outfit name?
WeMod better to unlock all of them 😅
Never heard anyone pronounced infiltrator that way 😂
why does your site needs my e-mail . i feel uncomfortable by doing this. What are you doing with this e-mail. Just wanna know. Many thanks
USED A TRAINER AND MAXED ALL THE SKILL TREES
man all this nonsense i just used cheat engin and got all the skills up and enjoying the game gg
#justice for my silent strike heal build 🫡
Haha 😁 If you like it then no problem! I just wanted to point out that players may want to considering leaving those locked.
Yeahhh i know we talked abourt that on dc xd
Haha gotcha 😁
