    Great to see the comparison - and I like the boards that hold the tiles in. It's a shame the bag only has a single snap rather than a zip because the tiles will just fall out easily if you use it to carry the whole game around.

      That is a very good point actually!

      Even a velcro closing across the length would probably do the trick

    Thank you for the unboxing and comparison. I spotted Azul Mini in my local game store and thought it was adorable! I just bought Azul: Master Chocolatier a few months ago, so I won't be shelling out for the Mini version. But it would definitely be great for travelling, since Azul is a pretty heavy game [physically heavy, not complexity-wise].

      Azul Mini is indeed great for traveling. Chocolatier version looks very very pretty! We hope you enjoy the game - it can be mean in times (especially at 2 players).

    I have the mini Azul and that’s all I’ve ever known Great for travelling too. Now though I want the bigger version which was out of stock when I wanted to buy it ( hence why I have the mini) I will still hang on to my mini when I get the big box. Thanks for your video 😀

      Thank you for watching! The bigger version with the chunkier bits is so satisfying to play, but the small version is also very very good! We have also kept both in our collection.

    Yay for the Greek accent

      The reality is that the tiles of the Azul Mini are not as hefty as the one of the original, but they are still good enough.

    Definitely a product for those that enjoy Azul but want to take it places. I've had mine pre-ordered but have been waiting for a fantastic video like you're to show me more than the few marketing images showed me. This is going to be fantastic to be able to bring Azul on holidays and camping trips and appreciate the the price - similar to being able to bring TRAILS on holidays for $20 instead of the bigger/heavier PARKS. Thanks for the vid!

    Very interesting comparison! I haven't played Azul, but I think I'll have to try it out...

    Thanks for the comparison. I have Azul Stained Glass of Sintra and Azul Summer Pavilion, so I didn’t really want to pay that much $ for Azul (original). This mini, travel size seems to perfect for me. Just ordered and received it but haven’t opened it yet. Really excited to use it for travel. The slide counter is so much better than the small cubes with original Azul as they get bumped all over the place. Mini Azul is at a price point that I ordered a few extras to give as gifts to my board game group for their summer travels.

      Azul original is, for us, the best version of Azul. We hope you enjoy it during your travels 😊

    Thanks for doing this... I don't have Azul but this mini version looks like a good deal to pick up... but each version is for different purpose... big is for local use or home use while the little version is to take with you if you travel or go to a conference or something...

      You are not wrong here. Still, we are not sure if we would go directly for Azul Mini if it was available when we first acquired Azul.

  • @CG_Hali

    Borrowed Azul from a friend but my arms can't easily handle the full-sized Azul (picking heavy tiles all the time, wrangle them round after round can be a problem for me). So the way you showed the mini tiles here seems to me like it could solve my problem. Thanks!

    Are the tiles made out of the same weighted/bakelite material as the regular Azul tiles or are they plastic?

    • @boardgamecourt
      @boardgamecourt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They feel like the same material, obviously lighter as they are smaller.

  • @nienke7713
    @nienke7713 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I think the small one is better, even just during regular play, the tiles and score markers possibly sliding off in the regular version is really annoying, and this mini edition solves that. Also just easier to carry and takes up less shelf space.

    • @boardgamecourt
      @boardgamecourt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it could be definitely be better for sure, but still a good travel version.

    • @northernbeadle
      @northernbeadle ปีที่แล้ว +5

      To get Azul for under $20 and being able to more easily transport it and so more readily play it.... it's a great deal! Trash would be card tiles, no plastic overlay and only thin cardboard boards, no scoring tracks and sticking with a cube and lots of wasted space, not including the plastic tray to contain the market... for $20 this is fantastic value! Point Salad is close to this in price and you get way more stuff and way more game.

    • @the_verTigO
      @the_verTigO ปีที่แล้ว

      @@northernbeadle Point Salad is like $12. Nothing your other points though.

    • @northernbeadle
      @northernbeadle ปีที่แล้ว

      @@the_verTigO I'm not in the US, so just did a quick search and saw it for $16 (which made sense as it's around $22 here in Canada)... so more of a distance, but still if this is MSRP'd at $19 it still is a solid deal!
