Katrin Konert mysteriously disappears whilst waiting for a bus on New Year's Day 2001. Over the years, more clues are uncovered, however the tale only gets stranger.

She's 15 and in a relationship with someone in their late 20's, so he's dating someone underage.. Immediately massive red flags and makes him suspicious.
In Germany she wasn't underage I'm sure the age of consent is 14 there. Yes it's kinda creepy but technically not illegal I don't think

regardless the legality of the matter .. I, as a 29-year-old woman, wouldn't even see a 15-year-old dude as dating material. It does say a lot about a person when they are very much adult but want to date someone who is still in school, not even uni. What possible motive can a person have, other than being a latent pedo.
zombiegameruk it still is illegal in Germany. Yes the age of consent is 14 but that only means that a 14 year old is allowed to sleep with someone under 18. If one person is over the age of 18 the other one needs to be 18+ as well. So yes it is illegal and creepy

This case was on "Aktenzeichen XY" (like a German version of Crimewatch). The guy stopped at the bus stop and asked if she wanted a ride but she declined without giving a reason. The reason "he is a bad driver" is just speculation on behalf of her acquaintances and police. No one knows why she actually declined.
It was actually quite common in Germany to hitchhike until recent years. I think the awareness for serial killers and generally stranger danger wasn't as high here because in comparison we didn't have many crimes involving these issues.

A school friend of mine dated a 27 year old at 15. She though it was cool and made her feel “grown up”. I just remember thinking how much of a looser he might be if he was dating a literal child instead of someone his age. It was specially “funny” given how for her, kids just one year younger were considered children, just a step up from babies.

SOMEONE is lying! Someone just doesn't disappear without someone seeing them. What's even more troubling is the fact that she was dating an older guy and no one saw this as odd? Her parents might have if they knew about it which might be why she kept it a secret. I LOVE your voice! It's very soothing and really nice to listen to :)

And unless the 29 year old is very emotionally immature or has a learning disability he should have no interest in a 15 year old. That’s just sick!

Hey, one friend, Sven, offered but she said it was too early to leave yet. Seems a bit suspic’ when you’ve just had a row with your boyfriend. The reckless driver friend I get but not that one.
It also depends on how many times she's calling her friends for a ride. If every time she see her boyfriend and they have a fight, and she needs a ride. It's get tiring doing that for her all the time.
It was the boyfriend's friend in the car, who was the last person to see Katrin. He is the most likely suspect.
I think Martin and Sven have questions to answer. I don't believe Martin that she declined his lift and his gf did not support his alibi . He was the last to see her alive and I think she got in the car. Sven just told a pack of lies, maybe he was in the car too.

My heart goes out to her family. I have two daughters and a fourteen year old granddaughter. I could cry listening to this as I can’t begin to fathom the just not knowing.
The boyfriend stated that she left to hitch a ride.. But a freind stopped to offer her a lift and she refused...
She refused the offer because the friend in question was known to be a reckless driver, and the road was iced. She had her head somewhat screwed on right i guess.

This is a stretch, but maybe it was something as simple as she was walking and a driver lost control of their car on the slippery ice, hit Katrine, killing her instantly, then panicked and took her body and disposed of it on their own property. If no one witnessed it, then nobody would be looking for a hit and run driver. It would of been a killing without a motive. And without a motive or a witness there would be no leads...like I said: it's a stretch.

The order was never made, or he lied about how he made it. Either way, it's beyond strange. Even if he didn't do anything, good bet he knows more than nothing.

When asked where she was, the answer was I can not tell you". Some months later, her badly decomposed body was found on the edge of a forest...

A man in his late 20s dating a 15 year old???? Disgusting. Age of consent is based on more than physical maturity, is also takes into consideration emotional maturity. 15 is too young for someone in their 20s. Hes probably one of those losers who cant get dates with adult women.

My theory is that she went to the bus stop and waited, but Joaquin was so mad at her, that he figured out which bus stop she was at and took her before the bus came. I’m not sure what he could have done to her after he took her, but I think he took her. 🤷🏼♀️ I hope she’s okay. If she’s dead, RIP and if she’s still gone, I hope she is found soon. God bless her and her family.
Kitten Lyric Ok, he still could have done that in a drunken stupor; or got drunk AFTER he got rid of her. We only have his word for it that he didn’t kill her.
She most probably got picked up by the wrong person, and is buried in someone’s private property. There is a ton of forests, fields and farms in the area, and basically every piece of land is privately own, so I doubt that police searched the forest and moors, since they would need consent from the owner or a search warrant to search almost anywhere over there.
This was really great. I watch true crime shows all day and I never watch videos where someone is just narrating but this popped up on my feed so I gave it a chance and I loved it. I definitely subscribed.

I met my husband when i was 14 in 1994. He was 35. I lied about my age to him. He thought i was 18. As soon as he found out i was under 18 he freaked out and broke up with me. I was so in love with him and couldn't wait until the day i turned 18. We were married 2 weeks after i turned 18. We have 1 adult son who is 20. My husband died in 2017 of cancer leaving me a young widow. He is still the love of my life. I have tried dating numerous times but i have no interest in other men. It is a lonely life being a 40 year old widow with a grown child.

You should do a video on Heike Rimbach, a German girl who had been brutally murdered in her own home in 1995. It is still an unsolved case and quite baffling. An acquaintance of her family allegedly committed suicide prior to Heike's murder, though many believe he had been killed, too. Investigators initially suspected Heike's brothers of her death. Later her ex-boyfriend had been arrested, but shortly released. It is a pretty chaotic case...

@@decimusmaximus2486 This might have been different in 2001? Age of consent in Britain is 16 so I wouldn't be surprised if it is/was 15 in Germany. We'd have to do a proper check on the legality of this in 2001so we're clear where this stands legally (though I still agree its paedophilia)

She had a baby brother. He is now nineteen or twenty and search her, has a TH-cam-channel with this topic. I saw a German film about the whole case. We saw him as a baby with her in private videos, and he spoke now as an adult how the family suffers. So did her sisters, metioned how they now have daughters which never knew Katrin, how they always think how much Katrin would have loved the girl, and so on. It is heartbreaking. They suffer so incredible. I cannot forget their pain
Wished it would be solved, and so so much it would have a *good* end.
