WOW! That drone footage is about as good as I have ever seen. Every time I thought "Oh please get a shot of...." there it was. Artistry in dirt.

Horses were the power sources on the Virginia-Kentucky border when I was a child and I still remember the wonderful smell of the fresh turned earth mixed with horses’ sweat, the leather harness and the plow man’s odor all mixed together on a bright spring morning! You bring back memories!

Poetry in motion, those horses sure can walk a straight line. Or maybe it’s the guy driving keeping such a true furrow ? Kudos to those horses walking right at that drone. I saw an ear or two flicker but they didn’t miss a thing.

Beautiful, Jim. Thanks for sharing. Makes me miss the sound of trace chains jingling. I've worked with nearly every kind of horse there is to work with in my life, and I've listened to some pretty snooty dressage people tell me all about side passing and getting the horse to cross their feet as they side pass, and I always think you haven't seen side passing until you've seen a good team of work horses turn a plow in a tight place and drop it accurately into the next furrow. They are a joy to watch.

You have so taught me a lot in the time I have been watching your videos. You have taught your horses well and it's just amazing to me the patients you have and understanding... First time I saw horses was in Germany working on Sundays pulling logs out of the woods. I have two forestry degrees and I love learning new things and seeing how different people do things ... In Germany was a real education for me I met this man who was a German forester and he invite me out for the day and boy he didn't even have to tell them after they were unhitched at the landing they turn right back around and head back to skid the next logs out.. Some people don't see how intelligent animals are I have always seen as my family had farms and you get to thinking like you know most of the time how they are going to react so I love seeing you involve your whole family it is a valuable asset to them as well that most will never have the opportunity or most wouldn't even care.. I so love your daughters and how they are when working with them. I would love to have met such a woman in my life I think its wonderful. Awesome daughters and one Awesome wife Jim.

Your new plow lays the sod over real nice, and pretty wide slab of sod soil. No sticky problems. Your 1st plow for 20 bucks was just like our 1st 2 bottom trip plow, those broke alot of ground over the yrs. Just seeing it was a surge of memory. I was little but I seen that plow.! Then we got a 3 bottom. Abby, good job with the drone, those things are amazing the aerial views, wow. I was interrupted , so good excuse to watch this one again , ah ha. Thanks, owe , the fella in the beginning, Jason? that guy is an ox, hook him up to the plow if the horses need a break, he is a go gett'n bruser. Good job you guys. Put some electrical tape or a dab of paint on that adjustable sleeve position. Loved the Old Photos.
Hearing about the Old Days gets me fired up. Thanks.

Another great video Jim and excellant drone shots too!. I can relate to your Amish helper of years ago. after i retired from my Hay business. I started the Satellite industry here in Western MA in 1982, and I used a one horse plow behind my van to plow a single furrow to lay the multirun sat cable down across the lawns, fields, etc. back to the house's. some runs were 600 ft or more. And that plow worked great. keeping it straight wasn't too hard a task. But I had plenty of horse power for sure!. Thanks again for another great video and best of all for sharing.

As an Australian English teacher in South Korea, I can tell you there are many words that our American friends spell differently. Most common being words ending in "our" (favour/favor) and "tre" (centre/center). It doesn't bother me too much, until they start abusing irregular verbs as pointed out by o ldman's post above.

    • @louisecassidy5991
