    I have the Thinkpad x230 i5 with IPS display. Bought it 3 years ago. I think it can last for another 5 years.
    Upgraded the ram to 8 gigs from 4 gigs. Added SSD. Had issues with the heat sink, but replaced it myself for $12. Also got the battery slice to increase the battery life.
    Laptops which let you fix things by yourself are great.

    Actually I use a thinkpad x250 for 4 years now and still the same speed as the day I bought it (or as as fast as the new ones) the thinkpad x250 is great for everyday productivity, and it's great because of it's replacable RAM, STORAGE (HDD/SSD/M.2) and the battery that lasts after 18 hours! Thinkpad x250 had many improvements not only for everyday productivity but you can also use it for video editing (kinda sucks, but can handle 2 hour video LOL) as a student I use it for everything that my school needs, and still today it's still alive! I even dropped it like 3 times still working it's strength is really the best and worth it! If I can rate it I can rate it 4.3 stars

      but I think it's too small especially the screen so it's not that good for a student that watch videos alot. Isn't it?

      @@user-ut7nk1xc6r I agree with that opinion but like I said video editing kind of sucks, but the display is sharp although not really that "accurate color" you know what others say but I would say I refer it to those students who really focuses on writing

    Thanks for the review, helped me decide to pick it up from gov surplus this week. Got it for 185 CAD (about 130 US), didn't come with the hard drive but had the internal battery, the i5-5300 and the upgraded screen, and the included Windows 7 code was good to activate Win10Pro so all in all a ridiculous deal. Upgraded the ram to 8 gb and added a barracuda 250 ssd (about 100 CAD/72 USD, total cost therefore was about 200 US), this beast boots up to the login screen in 9 seconds and has taken everything I could throw at it.

So I am getting the 250 as a replacement to that, because I do not think I can ever trust a Surface product again, easily. The 260 has been around the world with me, twice, I cant describe the kind of hardship it has suffered and it still looks prima, with a lot of life in it. Almost 6 years after the release of the video. Just purchased this yesterday for $220 (second hand), i5200U variant. Bought it for work, but I don't have the rig to play the games I want to play so I tested some games using the laptop.
    DOTA2 Low settings - 70 to 80 fps / Mid settings (Render Quality 100%) 45 to 55 fps
    Valorant, CS:GO, Aura Kingdom - Low to Mid settings 45 to 60 fps
    Also tried playing using an extended monitor (VGA) and it works fine (-/+5 fps) even if you have a browser open with youtube playing on the background. Right now planning to add M.2 SSD 2242 for the OS, video rendering and games and leave the HDD alone for the other data. The downside is the color is inaccurate and screen is small.

    Have this Thinkpad ( watched the review before buying) . The build quality feels less sturdy than the usual thinkpad . The heat dissipation of the laptop is not comfortable and the lower part of the computer heats up a lot. I also have the x230, and the old model performs BETTER. The laptop is small and light, but performance wise it makes me want to go for non thinkpad on my next purchase ( had the t400, x230 and x250 for more than 10 years with Thinkpad)

    now bring back separate sound-buttons. I use them very often, however i hate using FN for the function keys as well.
    Bring back a second RAM-Slot for DualChannel. Stop using the worst TN panels on the market for a 1000$ laptop. TN for entry-level is okay, but not the worst on the whole market like Lenovo did the last times. The round power connector was better, too, because it could be plugged in independant from its direction. Bring back normal hinghes with some connectors on the back, because the back is the best place for power connector and at least one USB oder LAN.

    I have this ultrabook in top end Configuration core i5, 8 gb ram, 256gb ssd, 1080p ips touch panel, I bought it 1.4 years ago in pakistan in $300, used one but 10/10 condition. Recently its fan had issue so i got it replaced with lenovo x240 fan, now the fan is always running which was not the case previously. Does anyone have it? If so, how long fan runs?

      Mate , fans always run, it is about the speed , the faster the fan goes it makes more noise

    MobileTechReview If i have to choose between this, lavie z, x1 carbon, spectre 360, xps 13, and Asus UX 501 pro then what would you recommend? I am currently enrolled in a part time degree and use windows through bootcamp on my mid 2012 macbook air. A lot of productivity and educational softwares are not yet 100% avaliable. So given this requirement what will be your suggestion? You can recommend something else too. I am looking for guidance ..thanks Lisa

    Lisa, when will the ThinkPad X250t (tablet version) be coming out? Can you please let us know and will you be reviewing it?. Looking to update my x220t now that the dedicated buttons are back. Thank you.

    • @SE43
      @SE43 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Sergio Ramirez The X260 will be out within the coming months, highly doubt you'll ever see another tablet version of the X250 or whatever as the Yoga has taken it's place.

    • @calden74
      @calden74 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lenovo has stopped making the tablet version with the X230T being the last model. Like SE43 said, the ThinkPad Yoga 12.5 is the model that replaced it. I for one recommend going with the Helix, it's a fantastic 2 in 1 that actually feels like a proper laptop when the tablet is docked into the keyboard. The tablet part also feels really good in the hands. Check out the refurbished site for Lenovo, I bought my Helix for only 460 dollars, it was even the i7, 8GB, 256GB model. Even though it was a refurnished, there wasn't a single scratch anywhere on the unit, it looked and smelled brand new. I think the X series is a little one the thick side when compared with other models and similar laptops from other manufactures. Check out HP's new Envy 13T, it's their answer to Apple's MacBook 12 but your getting an i7 instead of the much, much slower Intel M CPU. I wish Lenovo would release a 12", convetable version of their X1, talk about the ultimate laptop.

      if you want something more durable and have the bucks, you can go with the thinkpad.
      if you want a slimmer, lighter thing you can get a macbook air.
      just take into account the thinkpad will be heavier and the macbook will be more fragile.
      other than that, it's pretty much that age old "apple product vs non apple product" debate that never really got anywhere.
