    I have used x250, x260 and x270 ...both are good.
    If you want to use additional fast storage M2.SATA SSD on slot WWAN, VGA port take x250...but need mini display to HDMI cable for presentation
    If you want to use M2.NVME SSD on slot WWAN and need thunderbolt 3 usb type c then take x270 ... also display FHD
    If you need HDMI, but only need normal single sata SSD take x260... WWAN slot doesn't work for additional SSD
    Now, i keep my used x270... like it a lot

    Is it a problem if the internal batteries on a unit are removed (on x250/60) and there is only one battery? Thanks.

    amazing video! quick question, the X280 being soldered RAM does it perform like dual channel? for example, if you have 8gb, would it preform like x2 4gb sticks? or if you had 16gb, would it have the same performance as 2x 8gb sticks? or would it preform like a single stick of 16gb etc?

      I just checked my x280 with 8gb, and it is running in dual channel mode.

    hello, i have an x250 and was thinking of either just upgrading but it seems I already am maxed out at 8g ram so not sure what else to upgrade, the chip? so upgrade this x250 if any or buy a new or refurbished x270 with 16g ram which is quite cheap now? thank you

    • @AICvideo
      @AICvideo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can’t upgrade your CPU. Just ram/storage/wifi. Only way to upgrade cpu is to upgrade computer.

      @@AICvideo can the x250 upgrade to 16g ram? and maybe perhaps increased ssd storage, I think that would be it right? I usually use the cabled internet so not really a need for improved wifi, would this be a better option than getting an x270? what I do like with x250 are the various ports though which some are not in x270 anymore

    • @AICvideo
      @AICvideo  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @jundropshot there are not any supported 16gb ddr3 ram modules, they exist but are very very expensive and not all computers recognize them (I haven’t tried one on an x250) they are $150 for a single 16gb dimm.
      The only port on not on an x270 that is on an x250 is a mini display port. It was replaced with an hdmi port, and it has a usb c with display and power delivery, which is a far superior port, as you can get any and all adapters for it. Plus 2 usb and a full sized sd card reader and Ethernet.

      it seems that the best option is to upgrade to the x270 right?@@AICvideo anyways it is quite cheap now at about less than U$300 now, and is said to be even brand new? I do hope so as seen in the review, just hope they are true

    Just picked up a cheap x270 that needs some work, should be a nice upgrade to my i7 powered X220T.
    The X220t is great but it chews through the battery like crazy and likes to run quite warm despite having a new battery and the thermal paste replaced, one thing i look forward to with the x270 is the USB-C charging, i have to travel often and needing to remember to bring the big lenovo charger and brick is an absolute pain and takes up a ton of space

    I should have watched this before spending all day on Ebay looking for a replacement for my trusty old X220. After upgrading to a monster P17 I find I miss the little critter... so great for carrying in a purse, writing in a coffee shop, etc. I was going to get another X220 so I could re-use my old accessories, but now you've sold me on the x270. Thanks!

    Hi mate.. do you think x230 thinkpad can handle adobe video editing?

    • @AICvideo
      @AICvideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean.... it depends on your expectations and what kind of file. It will work, but it won't be fast. I personally edit video on a core i7 with an RTX 2070 super.

    hello, what do u suggest, thinkpad x250 with FHD Touchscreen , or thinkpad x270 with HD screen ? SAME price, 8GB ram and SSD , but x250 ddr3 , and x270 ddr4

    • @AICvideo
      @AICvideo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      my answer stays the same, The x270 is better enough I would buy it, and replace the screen with a FHD screen later. I don't worry about touch, but the FHD is a good upgrade that is really quite easy to do. the max ram you can put in an x250 is 8 gigs, you can get 32 gigs into the x270, the more modern ports means less adapters, it even has usb type-C you can charge from as well.

    I dont recommend that tooklit. The head where you connect the bit will come loose and it will rotate together with the bits. I put superglue and it works fine but just get other one.

    any real gotchas? looking at a cheap unit for linux, basic coding, web browsing, would like to plug it into a 2560 x 1440 monitor. I will no doubt try to play some very basic games but have a PC rig for that, it's more of an experiment than anything.

    • @AICvideo
      @AICvideo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I cannot think of any. any of these would be good for that, but I would go with the x270 for sure. you can have two storage devices, so you can dual boot to different OS's or have "tiered" storage, if you're doing some database stuff. and the 7th gen supports 4k at 30hz, so should have no issues with a 1440 display. The guy I bought mine from on ebay has a few for sale still. Mine is in great condition:
