    Thanks for making this very helpful video of your SWAM solo strings instruments. I'm also very excited, and looking forward to the release of your SWAM Ensemble Strings, and other Ensembles. 😎👍🏻

    I've been using a wind controller (a Roalnd AE-10) wth the cello app on an iPad and amplifier for several years, so already knew some of this stuff. Most of the combinations of special effects can only be done with a keyboard controller, so I wasn't that interested in that part of the tutorial. I was disappointed that the use of vibrato was harldy mentioned. The day I figured out how to control vibrato using the bite sensor on my AE-10 was the day my cello playing really came to life. The three main tools you have on a wind controller to play musically (besides good technique and breath control) are control of dynamics, vibrato, and articulation, and all three are important. By the way, I've found that the Firenze v3 model creates the most realistic cello sound.

    Using my SWAM cello required some learning, because it really is like an instrument - you control the crucial aspects that shape the notes, it isn't done by the player who is recorded in the sample. It can be tricky, but once you get a hang of it, the control over the sound is amazing.

    SWAM instruments should not be treated like a virtual instruments. We need to play SWAM Sax like a Sax playe with growl etc, Violin like a violin player with vibrato etc.
    So we need to LEARN how a real player plays that physical instrument.
    This is what makes me feel like a real player when I play SWAM instrument. This is the beauty of physical modeling which AudioModeling nailed it. Great job!!!
    Looking for world instrument series.. Possibilities unlimited....

    Modeling really is the future for working with some sound instruments. People may not like digital instruments but having modules of each instrument is pretty cool when dealing with space and loading lots of sound. Kinda resolves the polyphony issues when dealing with samples.

    I love swam instruments. Currently I already have flute and violin. Need more money for whole woodwinds bundle :D
    Anyway, I want to ask about double stops on violin. I'm using EWI and I wonder if I can do it somehow, live. Im aware of the difficulty of controlling this, but maybe I didn't think about something? Im quite new in EWI & SWAM world.

    • @AudioModeling
      @AudioModeling  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not a SWAM limitation, simply the EWI cannot send two notes at the same time.
      Double Stops on SWAM can be activated using the "Polyphony" area.

    Swam gang, I can assign Roli seaboard’s 5 mpe touch dimensions to any expression controls of your swam instruments?? Right?thnx❤❤

    • @AudioModeling
      @AudioModeling  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can assign 3 of the 5 MPE dimensions (Strike controls attack, Lift is not assignable) to any expressive controller.
      We recommend to start with the provided MIDI Preset (MIDI icon -> PRESETS -> Seaboard Default), and then change mapping as desired.
      NOTE: even if we support MPE, ours are Solo instruments, so basically monophonic (except for strings, that can be bi-phonic)

    a great sounding instrument indeed,however,every instrument (being sampled or generated) has its pro and con's,like you said,sample libraries use more space and RAM,but physical modelling requires a lot more processor power,one instrument,no problem,but try to play a whole orchestral piece and your processor will have a hard time coping,unless you can afford a I9 or ryzen 9
    audio (wav) is less taxing than a processor generated sound,the more complex the more powerful your processor has to be

    • @AudioModeling
      @AudioModeling  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Ronny, you are right... ANYWA, you are trying to make a full orchestral piece with SOLO instruments. Something you would never do with sample libraries. Try to do it with sample libraries and you'll get the same issue.
      That's why we are working on modeled ensembles ;-)
