The Great Divide (GDMBR) - Northbound - Bikepacking - Day 2

Day 2 (June 1): We took on the 85 miles to Silver City with an amazing section through red gravel. The desert really touched our souls in its purity. It gave us joy with its colorful blooming flowers, the stark contrast between the sky and the soil, and the occasional quirky farm with freely roaming bulls, donkeys, horses, goats, chicken… They seem to be living the dream out here in the Wild West.
A big dark thunderstorm and intimidating winds at the end gave us the final push to Silver City. Relax, eat, sleep before we head up the Gila National Forest tomorrow.
