Came back to finish your video. Very enjoyable, always is when copper is involved lol. Have a fabulous week and blessings to you and your entire family my friend!
The moisture inside the transformers is most likely oil. They are quite often soaked in oil as they are made to keep out moisture and prevent oxidisation.
@SollersScrappingandDiving yes it probably had a little in it from being sat in the weather maybe but the oil prevents moisture in the air getting in for the most part when in a home or work environment
Welding isnt hard. Just squeeze the trigger. Getting burnt is the hard part. Ive been welding over 40 years. .i am not artistic. But i saw a sculpture in orlando of a robin that was made from motorcycle clutch plates Like 8' tall. Very nice glad i wasnt a worm.
@@SollersScrappingandDiving I've been scrapping most all your life. I find it entertaining to watch others and how they process things. I think if you venture into e-waste gold recovery your subscribers will grow quickly. Some of the chemicals are dangerous. But when you say harsh? Vinegar will remove gold plated things like ram sticks or plated boards. you can dissolve the gold with the same vinegar by adding bleach.. do be careful but not many women scrappers out there. I bet you can get over 20k pretty fast.
Just another way. But transformers I snip one end then drive a screwdriver down the middle. Few hits and the coils fall out. But do what works for you.
Like the leopard skin mat. I use a cushioned rubber mat . But always cleaning it off. Top of that I use a piece of plywood with angle brackets to use as a stop or to put CPU to knock off the copper tops I can do many things with itm
That steel is great for making ferrous sulfate. You could make some with a bit of sulfuric acid and sell it to people who do gold recovery. I make mine from them. Worth much more than shred.
@SollersScrappingandDiving I know but we were going to the lake and there's no cell service there. Watching now though. I have hundreds of motors to do. One day!

Thank you very much James and to you 🥰
@@SollersScrappingandDiving thank you!
You're doing pretty well. I'm lucky to get people to watch 10 minute videos to the end.
@@HHRecycling oh same, the more views the lower the average view duration😂🙈
I liked the way you used an open crescent wrench to get the copper out of the motor. That's alot of copper. Great video
Thanks Deborah, I know it's not how people usually do it but I like that method 🙂
Awesome video sollers, I enjoyed your way of getting you that copper. See you on the next video

Ah that makes sense thanks, I just assumed water had got in as a little bit of the copper had patina on it

@@SollersScrappingandDiving good to know
You need to watch the videos by Dean Doherty he shows the easy way to disassemble power tools to their component parts😊
I'll check him out thanks😂

Nice! There are so many methods, I'm using the meat cleaver method in my next video🙂
Oh interesting! I'm not a fan of chemicals though so I'll leave that to the imaginative ones like you 🙂
Wait... that's not brass?
When do you plan on doing some melts? Im planning on buying a furnace soon as my son really wants to make some ingots
That's great! I don't have my furnace yet, once I've got my bigger workshop it will be all systems go🙂
Booooo. I thought I was catching the premiere. I will tonight.
