I think the meaning of the ending was, the other county police officers purposely acted as escorts so they won't be arrested too because they know they don't stand a chance against the evidence and if they continued pursuing another police car on a state highway it would seem suspicious, and the state police would notice and would be involved, instigating an investigation that could put them to jail. So they acted as escorts with a goal in mind to take the evidence away without violence so the state police won't notice. And Terry (the protagonist), noticed their change in behavior so when they arrived at the Hospital, he took the thing which I assume is where the video file from the dash cam is stored, so they won't be able to get rid of the evidence. And if they fail to get rid of the evidence they would need someone to blame so they pointed their blame towards the chief.
Or maybe this is exactly what's in Terry's head and Obviously he can't trust any police anymore, so he safeguards the evidence himself. The other police are likely good guys, but can't take chances And those were the state police, not other county police

*You are Bad at explaining* , the officer didn't switch sides , he was the secret former military friend (codename: Serpico) of summer but Terry had mistaken Jessica for Serpico because of that Stupid "he/she" conversation he had with summer, like when he asked, "who is he?" she asked, "why do u assume it's a he?". Now, that we have cleared up the "Serpico" confusion, let's come to "why did Jessica betray him?", my theory is she was afraid that him trying to escape would lead to loss of life or she must have been torn up between self preservation or doing the right thing but at the end she made the right choice.

I feel like the corruption storyline wasn’t particularly original, but it was still a great ride. And I agree he would be a great character to follow in some sequels.
This movie was really good in executing his character the last fight scene shows how he’s really adept to QCQ. You can tell when he’s trying to fight in the last scene while trying to go through all of the tear gas pulling his experience as a marine. I also liked when go goes through tasks trying to administer the narcan. I’m not military but this is what I would think a military mindset would bring for a character like him.
@@wingsbruh5933 yeah, the movie was atrocious. A couple Parish deputies committed fraud, theft, assault, attempted murder, battery, breaking into houses to inject heroin....and they did all this so they could keep their jobs instead of simply finding a better funded police department to find a job at? There isn't a military unit in the world that teaches you to unload your gun in a major firefight and throw it at the people shooting at you, it's beyond stupid and fake.
I'm a big fan of the director, Jeremy Saulnier, so I've been waiting months for this movie to get released. Blue Ruin and Green Room are incredible films and this one did not disappoint whatsoever 🔥
I just love that this movie is just so gripping with lots of twists and turns that you wouldn’t directly see coming but never insults the viewers intelligence and every character still reacts to things happening to them in a believable way. It’s 2 hours long but the time just flew by and I have to say I’m intrigued as to how John Boyega would have portrayed the character but Aaron Pierre absolutely killed it, I could never see anyone else but him play that character now, all in all a very very good movie
Honestly I liked that the action felt real for once. I recently watched the bee keeper and John wick and the violence is just sort of theater with no stakes. This was better
@@magnus50000he wouldn’t have had time to get fakes. He found out about what kind of cards they were when he was over the phone setting the meet for the exchange. Unless between then and first light he managed to get hold of some exact replicas, cause he described it in detail, those were the actual SD cards. And if it’s salvageable, officer sims knows what’s on there she would pick em up for sure. And terry got the footage from the police car so they got everything they need anyway, either or will do just fine
I was SO surprised at how damn good this movie was. It had crazy moments all throughout and you weren’t ready for any of them. And I have to add,wow who is this guy? He’s damn gorgeous.
Officer Evan didn’t just turn, he was with them the whole time. That’s why Terry was surprised and said Serpico. Serpico was the code name for the friend summer had in the force, you know the one who has a kid? Terry initially thought that officer sims was Serpico because summer said to him “what makes you think it’s a “he”?” in the car when they were talking about her friend in the force. Officer Martson had a damn good cover, he played the part so well I never would’ve imagined it could be him. So yeah you didn’t get the ending properly you should rewatch the entire movie because there are clues dropped all throughout. Officer didn’t just turn because he suddenly grew a conscience, he was against them from the start but had to stay undercover
The plot synopsis and opening of the film led me to believe this was a storyline I had seen before. In some ways that still ended up being true, but it was so much better than I ever expected.
Refreshing & inspiring to see that the character was using NON-LETHAL weapons from his training for a change. Along with the absence of sex scenes, this was overall a very good start to a possible future franchise. Great job!❤
Reading the comments on here I have to ask. Have any of you heard the story of ‘The Emperor's New Clothes’. It started with promise, but fell apart the moment they let him go at gunpoint after he made bail. I had just settled in, thinking, "Finally, a movie worth investing in." The lead was great, Sunny Crooked as the villain was an inspired choice, and there was a love interest alongside a supporting cast of bigots. But then it got unnecessarily complicated. The retribution for his cousin/brother’s death was a total letdown, the endless drugging of that poor woman was ridiculous, and the final straw? A cop who’d been forearm smashed into the ground so hard I heard his skull crack, standing up seconds later like nothing happened. I give it one star, just for the first act.
Couple of things to note. Firstly, Simms switched the SD cards before handing them over. There were 3 blue SD cards in the container which Terry had with majority being black. The majority of the cards destroyed were blue. Secondly, Simms called in the situation to state police directly prior to the chase and it was pretty clear that although she was not Serpico and she was wary of Terry, she was just trying to save lives and come up with an out for Terry at the same time.

I think you missed that Evan was Serpico. He thought it was Jessica, but it was Evan. Jessica only changed sides because she had some kinda moral compass
That ending was so weird. The entire movie was so great and thorough but it seems like they ran out of ideas for the end. Jessica all of a sudden switched sides with no development and the other cops decided to escort them out of the blue? What could they do for a possible sequel? They should have put a bow on the ending. We could have at least seen the media get a hold of this and the footage that he had.
Think they crossed over to another country where they don’t have jurisdiction so they decided to pretend to be an escort since they can’t have a car chase and firefight outside of their jurisdiction.
Ok, maybe it's just me, but more martial arts training, i could totally see Aaron Pierre play the next version of Blade or possibly the next version of Black Panther.
Evan Marston didn't "switch sides." He was the one helping Summer throughout the movie, and it was revealed in the scene where he gets shot. Terry realized this when he said to himself, "serpico." Serpico is how he and summer referred to her "secret person." Just wanted to clear that up.
This movie was great. A film hasnt had me hooked in years. I didn't check my phone or take my eyes off the screen. Every scene had this heavy feel that had me wondering how it played out. This film felt like a spiritual successor to First Blood Part 1
loved this movie but the ending makes no sense. all of sudden the pursuing cops and the lady officer just switch up when minutes ago they were trying to kill the guy. and we are left to speculate as to why the change of heart. how exactly is that good writing? make it make sense.
I think a lot of the motif of this film is self preservation. The officers realized they could not contain the situation anymore and pinning it on the chief became the only viable option
@@Dakotahlikesboxingstill makes no sense bozo, they could have just pit maneuvered the car, stole the recording in the trunk and killed them and hide the evidence so why didn’t they?
It was really interesting, I expected them to do a thing where Jessica was going to be the one who changed sides but it ended up being the officer who first stole his money to say “hey we shouldn’t just kill this guy” only to immediately get shot by the chief to force him to be a martyr. And Terry immediately saved his life despite his abuse which was wild
This movie deserves an oscar. The level of writing, direction, and acting is on an otherworldly level. The best movie I have watched since Boon Joon Ho's Parasite. The level of realism is also something I have never before seen in an action movies. The main character continues to drive a car after the tyres have been shot! This movie is essentially Rambo but a million times better and more realistic.😱😱😱
Call me crazy but i wanted bloodshed and carnage. And the way it ended ? So he was going to hold on to that evidence and give it to who ? More cops !!!! Did he learn nothing ? Very disappointed in this one.
The cinematic experience was great, but it lacked action for most of its two-hour runtime. Only about 30 minutes were devoted to action scenes, which didn't make it feel like a true action movie. Additionally, the action scenes themselves were not very convincing and came across as slightly amateurish. During the final shootout, it seemed as though the Chief and the other cops could have cooked a steak between each scene. However, it is still better than many recent productions.
Man i want more, i know he didn't want bloodshed but to have seen him kill all but the ones that helped him would have been awesome. I hope we get a sequel movie or show where he goes full John Wick Rambo.
I did really enjoy this movie! However, it takes a lot more than a stomp to destroy an SD card. Ive even sent one through a full washer and 40min dryer cycle and it still works to this day. Other than that, I was glued tothe screen and fully invested in this movie.
Great movie, was looking forward to it since the trailer was released, it definitely delivered. I liked how it was not all shoot em up but had some tactical process to it on how he went about getting things done. It would be nice if they can make a sequel or turn this into a franchise.
Loved this movie. I'm so happy to see Aaron Pierre in a lead role because he was incredible in Underground Railroad. I need to re-watch to better understand this Serpico thing.
Loved the film and I agree the ending was - rough - but, the more I think about it, it's either sequel time or they wanted to remind you that real life is messy and never truly resolved. Either way, it stunned me how sucked I was into the film. The characters are well developed and explored. This was a well written script. Well done.
The Movie was great! Def a pleasant surprise. Don Johnson killed It, Aaron Pierre did give us some black Jack Reacher vibes. I would honestly love to see a sequel or maybe even a prequel frankly. Go into the relationship between Terry and his cousin Mike and maybe some military training. They could do another 2 or 3 movies easy.
Very good film , honestly one of the most surprising action movies of the year . Just feel sad that it’s on Netflix and didn’t have a theatrical release.
I feel like the best films that have you hooked are when the main characters are in the process of being chased for a lot of the film. It makes you always question
Just finished watching it. It was quite good. Kept me guessing for sure. Wish they had included at least maybe a few more minutes to see what happened instead of just abruptly ending it & now you just have to guess what happened next.
The problem with these streaming films is the continuous loud music that makes me not want to watch it. I had to turn it down & turn on the subtitles just to try to enjoy it.

I feel like the corruption storyline wasn’t particularly original, but it was still a great ride. And I agree he would be a great character to follow in some sequels.
Love how you compared it to reacher massive vibes for sure
So similar! Even the story. But I didn't actually mind to be fair
I was definitely thinking Reacher the entire time.
I give it 10/10 movie
This movie was really good in executing his character the last fight scene shows how he’s really adept to QCQ. You can tell when he’s trying to fight in the last scene while trying to go through all of the tear gas pulling his experience as a marine. I also liked when go goes through tasks trying to administer the narcan. I’m not military but this is what I would think a military mindset would bring for a character like him.
Ah yes, during a firefight, unload your gun and throw it at the enemy shooting at you. Our military has won multiple wars this way 😂
@unkownuser5809 He was trying to not kill them and he did a pretty good job at that lol. Don't be ignorant. Did you even watch the movie?
@@wingsbruh5933 yeah, the movie was atrocious. A couple Parish deputies committed fraud, theft, assault, attempted murder, battery, breaking into houses to inject heroin....and they did all this so they could keep their jobs instead of simply finding a better funded police department to find a job at? There isn't a military unit in the world that teaches you to unload your gun in a major firefight and throw it at the people shooting at you, it's beyond stupid and fake.
That Hospital Entrace was a GIANT ONE'R! One of the coolest shots Ive ever been a part of! THANK YOU FOR THIS INCREDIBLE REVIEW!!!!!
Great review :) Also watched it on a Friday night and it was so satisfying.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'm guessing one or two of those SD cards that cop stumbs on are still readable.
I assumed he had given them fakes and stashed the real ones.
Heard he's in the running for green lantern, glad I checked this movie out... performance was perfect
Yeah he was awesome in this
Great movie by all standards, but I was looking forward to see the end of the captain and the officers.
This movie was simply great.
Yeah I'd agree!
This movie was so good!! I was yelling at the tv & cheering for Terry the whole time! He was two steps ahead despite the challenges he faced
Great job!❤
It was a great movie. Doesn't insult viewers intelligence. If you watch closely all the answers are in there.
Yeah exactly!
Glad that John Boyega left the film no way i see him doing what Pierre did. Definitely want to see a sequel
Great movie I was tuned in the whole 2 hours loved it completely
If you are looking for movies with similar vibes here's my recommendation:
21 Bridges
To catch a killer
The Contractor
Transfusion
Terminal List (series)
Dragged across concrete
Great job Aaron. Hope there is a second movie.
Ok, maybe it's just me, but more martial arts training, i could totally see Aaron Pierre play the next version of Blade or possibly the next version of Black Panther.
I think he's huge to be Black Panther, but that can be a good thing
I can see him playing James Bond
Evan Marston didn't "switch sides." He was the one helping Summer throughout the movie, and it was revealed in the scene where he gets shot. Terry realized this when he said to himself, "serpico." Serpico is how he and summer referred to her "secret person."
Just wanted to clear that up.
I think the meaning behind the ending is doing your job as a cop vs doing your job as a human.
They had no other choice, every activity was being filmed lived from the black box.
Nonsensical babble, the film was pretty straightforward, not exactly hard to understand.
Can't lie this movie was intense! Great story and buildup!
its so sad that i didnt enjoy this movie as much as everybody else. i really wish i seen what everyone else seen
This film has god me mad the way the black guy gets treated is all to well in America and it actually does still happen today .
Aaron Pierre is a savant. played Francis, in "Brother" (2022)-- also remarkable
Yeah exactly showing just how easy cops and 👮🏻♀️⚪️ people have it
Maybe release it into media?
Once it made public ain’t no going back
The cinematic experience was great, but it lacked action for most of its two-hour runtime.
Not a fan of the ending. A bit anti-climatic actually.
What would have been a 9/10 movie, got down to an 8/10 which is still pretty good.
Character is a straight perfection of a marine mindset
Aaron Stone Pierre needs more lead action roles. He has shown the ability to do it all from drama to action. This gentleman is truly entertaining.
Yeah he's great!
Shout out to @BrianPilot for sometimes being the only one to cover certain movies. You've earned a sub.
Glad you enjoyed the vid
Man i want more, i know he didn't want bloodshed but to have seen him kill all but the ones that helped him would have been awesome.
I hope we get a sequel movie or show where he goes full John Wick Rambo.
mom : we have Jack Reacher at home
Jack Reacher at home :
This movie had such strong Rambo vibes. Loved it.
I hope there’s gonna be a part 2
Same here
Absolutely loved it 👍🏾
It was awesome wasn't it!
Yeah he was great in this role
Just watched the movie now and gotta say it feels like a breath of fresh air after a long time
Great movie, I stopped it in the middle and almost gave up. It felt long. I'm glad I started it back up the next day I finished it and was hooked
Terry should become a detective or PI
I absolutely loved the movie. I hope they make a sequel. Great filmmaking and performers did phenomenal job
I hope they do too!
Loved the film and I agree the ending was - rough - but, the more I think about it, it's either sequel time or they wanted to remind you that real life is messy and never truly resolved. Either way, it stunned me how sucked I was into the film. The characters are well developed and explored. This was a well written script. Well done.
Never seem aaron pierce before but he killed this role. I'm glad John bodega had a diva fit and quit the movie.
Yeah Aaron was perfect for this role
Wish they had included at least maybe a few more minutes to see what happened instead of just abruptly ending it & now you just have to guess what happened next.
very good movie enjoyed all two hours
Yeah same! It would work well as a series too
I like that the ending kept this open ended story as if there could be a sequel. I hope there is, this movie was great
Yeah I hope there's a sequel!
The problem with these streaming films is the continuous loud music that makes me not want to watch it. I had to turn it down & turn on the subtitles just to try to enjoy it.
He did so good … and hesss so cute 😊
@@rainpie4100 Y.O.U.N.G.I.N. Is the tag.
This guy should’ve been cast for Jack Reacher.
Genuinely!
I rate this movie 11/10. It's the best on Netflix! As I predicted, it had a "First Blood" and "Jack Reacher" vibe. Loved it! 🎉🎉❤😊 And i watched it on a Friday as well. 😊
Perfect Friday movie!
This movie reminded me so much of Rambo. Dumb crooked cops, ex military ass kicker. . But in Rambo a lot of people died.
This reminds me of Walking Tall, Terry gotta come back as police chief in the sequel !
They did a good job luring in the black audience I can’t even cap 😂
I really loved this movie, Terry is such a good character.
