I think we need to differentiate being dependent on someone from having our needs. I’ve been in this kind of relationship and it caused me so much headache that I started to think that maybe I have an anxious attachment. I find it deeply disrespectful to selfishly disappear as if you have no feelings or investment in the connection. To just carelessly opt out by hoping ignoring you will get rid of you is not only childish but insensitive and frankly, cruel. Most men don't like confrontation, but there are ways to communicate without getting too defensive. However, I have chosen to ignore him too. At this point, I believe he is gone. I am heartbroken.
