Why are we talking about switching gears in an excavator 😂

Right? I'm like tf is he talking about seeing over the blade lol

I much prefer the Komatsu because its seat is really suitable for everything, even for drivers who are very tall and especially with a large frame. Unlike the Caterpillar seat which is not suitable for very tall and overweight people. I find that unfortunate .
This is my opinion and the experience that I have and that I have also observed around me.

I believe that all the information regarding the radiator placement and the hydro-static transmission is totally inaccurate. I've ran both Komatsu and CAT excavators for years. Excavators don't have a transmission. They are driven by hydraulic motors powered by the hydraulic pump. That is what makes them hydrostatic. Speed is determined by flow, or volume of fluid supplied to the hydraulic motors. But this is different than a hydrostatic transmission in a dozer, for example, where there are also gears for different speeds.
Also, the implement on these machines is a "bucket" not a "blade".
Good information, but much of it is inaccurate and dose not apply.

Must be ai generated... that radiator design in saying that Komatsu is at the back whereas Cats is in thr conventional front mount, is TRUE... Just not in an the excavators... it's in the new dozers. He even says d6 at some point...

I'm not sure of the accuracy of the video.
However as a long time operator I can say around here from the late 80s through the 90s Komatsu dominated in excavators. Since 2000 the seen here is Cat, then JohnDeer, Komatsu has almost disappeared from the seen.
Not sure what caused that as other types of equipment like backhoes being dominated by Case, have always been different brands based on machine.
So i assume the market here is well based on what works best.

Compare fuel useage with gal per hour not word salads! Where is purchase price comparision? Where is projected routine daily and periodic maintenance times and costs? When does an operator shift gears in an excavator? More actual numbers and less yak yak would make this comparison more meaningful. So which machine is the favorite? The tests never compare each machines production i.e. how long to load a yard of similar material for each machine or how long to load a similar sized haul truck! With out taking a position as to which is the best the whole title for this video is misleading. Why talk about a D6 in an excavator comparison? I am not happy when I give a thumbs down for what took Extreme Force time and effort to produce, I will give Extreme Force another view to see if this channel can stay on topic and answer who the best is or not promise a comparison and then not take a position as to who or which machine is best. Do either of these machines lock the owners out making field fixes difficult or impossible? How long to to preform daily checks and warm up? Each 15 minutes of difference adds up to a full work day of production each month. Ray
