- The DA is not a part of the government of national unity to serve the
interests of the ANC, nor to protect its leaders from being held
accountable for wrongdoing.
This was the clarity the party issued as it navigates the complexities
surrounding its new role in the GNU.
There was an uproar following DA’s federal chairperson Helen Zille's comments.
On Monday, she said the party would be apprehensive about supporting a
motion of no confidence against President Cyril Ramaphosa should one
arise in parliament.

Helen clarified on 404 that DANC agreement says ANC will 60% DA 30% and other parties share 10% of executive and ANC will Ramaphosa will never do anything without consulting
As per their agreement, decisions will need 60% concensus and the ANC already has that 60%

The DA should have foreseen this and their strategists should have prepared them for a time when they will have to make compromises for purposes of survival. Instead they retreated into a laager. They should have listened carefully to Ramaphosa's speeches at BRICS summits, both in plenary and breakaways, as well as the pronouncements of the alliance partners of the ANC. They should have monitored the growth of BRICS and rebranded themselves accordingly instead of resorting to racist and divisive tendencies. Now they are in a tight corner. They can still play ball and that doesn't mean promoting and supporting corruption, this means they need to commit to building a better South Africa together with their big business support otherwise they will be irrelevant by the end of this decade or the next one

I don't understand why you trust them, considering what they have done to slander Cyril and then join him and promise to protect him from impeachment, amongst many other things. They can only just watch him do what he wants at the cost of the country you keep saying will decline under circumstances you see as a 1 way train if the DA is not going to be chosen. Western solutions are done now, east is the way to go and we can't use the same western ideas when we're a developing country.
