These two episodes were fire. Thank you Paige. At 62 years young I am still on this discovery journey. I wish I had y’all’s poise, grace and self awareness 30 years ago. Blessings to all!
It’s so beautiful to see my beautiful black intelligent intellectual sisters sharing their lives and giving powerful advice, encouragement and wisdom. Thank you so much, Paige, Stephanie, Olamide, Brittany and Jess for your heartfelt words of wisdom.👋🏽🇺🇸
I am 54 and truly wish that I had moved to England 30 years ago way before I had children. I still want to move there in a few years, this video gives me hope. It’s never to too late to follow my dreams , I have a right to be happy.
@@sistayiddishkeitofficial5833 That is wonderful to hear and you can do it too! The only thing that can come off from prolonging our dreams is regret. I am excited and will work to bring my dream into fruition.
I have to say my heart is so full watching this! In the U.S., we know bits and pieces of history in the making and our influence on the world. Watching these young, Black women choose themselves, fill their cup and receive the blessings from it overflowing, is so powerful and humbling. #WalkinginFaith. #Youdidntcomethisfarjusttocomethisfar.
Paige, regarding the healthcare question, I just wanted to share that I gave birth to my son when I lived there, and I never received a bill. Ever! The midwife came to my house for a few weeks afterward to check on me and my son to make sure we were settling in well.
Same! I had a hard time nursing my son. They sent a lactation nurse to my house every day for weeks until we got his latch right. All for free. America's mortality rate (particularly for Black women) made me so thankful and grateful to be in the UK.
This video is like a beautiful “live” Essence magazine article. All of you are so beautiful and intelligent. I’m so proud of your generation. You are inspiring us older women to give moving abroad a try.
IN UK private healthcare can be speedier, better bedside manner and much nicer environs (which doesnt mean the public NHS one's aren't any of those), but your treatment can often be better with the NHS which has more specialists and the best equipment
I really enjoyed this. Its great to see different perspectives. Im the opposite to you guys a londoner living in Westchester NY for the last five years. I really do miss London, close family, friends, cheaper/ better quality food the healthcare system! But I love alot about the US too. The vastness, blue skys (even when its freezing) the friendliness/openess of the people lastly target, bath & bodyworks, Sephora.😂
I’ve been following your journey since just before you moved to London and I’ve loved watching you grow and evolve. To watch your experiences in London IS ONE THING but your friendships with other Black Women during this process still has me in awe. So glad you were able to find such an amazing tribe in London. Everyone seems so genuine and living in their BGM ✨ Continued success to you and all of the women featured.
This was so amazing I enjoyed hearing from all perspectives one thing I noticed was that you all agreed upon how much you all love it there this video really opened my eyes because I was one of those people that believed what I saw on the world news until recently but I would love to branch out and see more after seeing this because it’s really so much more than the 50 states that we live in there’s a whole world out here to explore you just have to get out there thanks for sharing 💕
A question Paige: many other black people who have moved abroad have expressed that when they left they were able to drop a hyper vigilance they lived with in the USA when they got elsewhere. And also expressed the feelings they had having to pick that up when they come back. Was that your experience as well? Was it easier being black abroad than in the USA?
I just got back from home from London (Greater London) to Canada, where I emigrated to and I am miserable lol. I feel so alive in the UK, maybe because it’s home. Re: Hospitals - A lot of inner city hospitals are very old and “ghetto” lol but that doesn’t represent uk hospitals everywhere. My Mum lives in Greater London, her hospital has beautiful gardens, M&S grocery store, other stores, a variety of restaurants, cafe bars and even a subway, if you fancy a footlong haha. Very clean, modern and a pleasure to go to. Also, if something is pressing and needs to be done, through the hospitals there is no waiting a long time for appointments. I was with my Mum for just under 5 weeks and she had 2 consultations, 2 scans and 2 surgical procedures within a month. Here in Canada, you have to be out on waiting lists for the same procedures! Also, in Canada, even though they call it “free healthcare, you pay for ambulances and extortionate prices, for prescriptions and you need medical insurance for that (unless you’re on welfare) It’s also really hard to get a GP here. I know a lot of people who use walk in clinics or ER as their GP. I was also blown away with food prices back home in England. I don’t know about the States but what I could buy in Tesco for a month is my weekly grocery bill in Canada (Walmart) lol. I feel like UK food prices are 1970’s prices compared to Canada. So many things are now much cheaper in the UK. Phone plans, Internet/Cable, clothing, car insurance, household items and of course flights! Even Amazon UK is cheaper .. something £5 on Amazon there can be $50 Canadian plus tax here! Sure, the price of property in South East England is more and you don’t get as much “house” for your money … but Southwest England, The North of England or Wales etc you can get a beautiful home! My daughter, who’s also British was living in Brentford for 3 years, 21st floor and very luxurious, plus A/C that could be controlled for every room. She had to come back to Canada (Toronto) and for a 2 bedroom basement apartment (no AC) and definitely not luxurious, yet she is paying more in Canada on rent and utilities. That goes for her apartment in Brentford/Kew and a lovely condo she rented in Ladbroke Grove, for a couple of years. I definitely miss the sea (Cornwall and Welsh coast specifically) and mountainous areas, of the UK (even though I now live near the Rockies 😅) There’s nothing like going for a walk through UK forests or up a mountain without the fear of Bears, cougars, coyotes etc I could never explore like that in Canada! 😂 I have been in Canada now for 23 years, unfortunately I’ve been homesick since week 1 here but financially at present cannot get out to move back across the pond. Once you’re paying a mortgage, which I thought would lessen my homesickness, I feel a little stuck. I’m also married to a Canadian. If I ever do get back, I think I’m priced out of London and the South East, so would definitely have to think of other parts of the UK. Thankfully I’ve lived in the North and South of England and also Wales, so that wouldn’t be a problem. Spain is also somewhere I’m thinking of which is a lot closer to home. That’s another thing I miss, the ability to travel so cheaply from the UK!! Oh and the fashion, food and culture. I jam packed my suitcase (and also brought another one back lol) just for snacks, hair products and clothes from Primark, Matalan and TKMAXX 😂 The clothes I will probably never get to wear in Canada. I remember when I first came here, went to a club and everyone thought I was dressed up because they were dressed so casually. It was a nightclub, it’s what we did in London LOL!!! My nightclubbing/raving days were. back in the 90’s and London, Manchester, Liverpool etc we’re full of clubs and bars and the outdoor raves/festivals were around the UK. I noticed a lot of change since then with all our nightclubs being converted into luxury flats or cocktail bars. It’s a shame because London was filled with amazing clubs and nightlife in the 90’s early 2000’s. I don’t miss UK music because I Bluetooth UK radio through my phone apps at home or in the car. Love cruising in Canada with Kiss Dance (London) on 😂😂😂 I also watch all UK channels here, so I don’t miss my Eastenders, Love Island etc The video was great and it’s cool to hear different perspectives but even though I’m from London, there is so much more to explore and see in other parts of the UK. Even living in Greater London is so different to the Cities! I do realize you’re video was more about the City of London though! I don’t know what I’m going to do without your London/travelling around Europe vlogs Paige, as I lived vicariously through you, being that I am so homesick, when I can’t get back. I’m quite sad you’re leaving, as I subscribed to you, when you were planning your move! Having said that, I’m glad you are going home because it feels right for you. It’s something I should have done. Luckily for you, you have no ties in keeping you somewhere that makes it harder to go home. Look at me … 23 years and miserable and only feeling alive or that I’m actually living my best life when I get to come home and maybe pop for a quick week’s holiday in Europe. At least, as you said .. you’ve grown so much and have realized .. the world is now your oyster! Good luck with everything Paige! We will miss you 😘 I hope you have the best time, returning to the US and thank you for all your videos, that have helped a UK girl, in North America more than you’ll ever know!! ♥️♥️♥️ Whoaaaa sorry about the novel! 🤣🤣🤣 😘

Greetings from the ATL (USA). I have a question. Do you have to reestablish credit worthiness, or does your credit score follow you to London? Thanks. ❤ the video. Here's to a part 3 🍸 (assuming you haven't headed back to these United states). I'm subscribing either way. Be safe ✌🏾
London's homicide rate is on par with Sweden, or East Asia, despite being a megacity, thanks largely to the worlds strictest weapon laws (both gun and knife). However it does have definite crime issues, though mostly theft, online crime and knifings (though the latter mostly by people who know each other).
Since Stephanie is working for a US firm is her salary in USD or is it the US standard salary rate? I am asking because of the tax feature she mentioned.
I'm not a negative person but not feeling the Q&A so much. I've watched this vlog 3 times trying to catch some of the initial responses. Big fail. The acoustics is hallow and loud, especially when people are talking or laughing. I turned down the volume and it still hurts my ears, Everyone sometimes talks at the same time or laughs when a person is answering a question and I didnt actually hear some responses. Txs. for sharing.❤
I paid out of pocket but there are scholarships available for September starters. If you are to take out a loan, I believe you have to do it in the US and bring the money to the UK
Basically come here .... use it but don't abuse it, the NHS is suffering. Don't just use it free when you've not really paid in. Nor take advantage as your friend said she would

Love this video. I am so glad you found and made a community of other fellow American women of color. I hope to find this on my next journey.
Thank you so much!

Thank you ladies
😊😊
Just as an FYI, knife crime is also less in the UK, no matter what propaganda the US right wing spouts.
This was amazing!!!!!!
Yayyy!! Thank you 😊
Really interesting thanks 🙏🏽 ❤
Thanks for watching!
omg, once a month pay!

Thanks so much!!
Did you pay out of pocket for school? Is there financial aid available?

English man who finds American 🇺🇸 women really beautiful and amazing 😻
Basically come here .... use it but don't abuse it, the NHS is suffering. Don't just use it free when you've not really paid in. Nor take advantage as your friend said she would
We pay a health care surcharge every year that we’re here, so we’re allowed to use it as needed. No one has intentions of abusing the system.
