Yes, this was a great band [Badfinger], with some of the most beautiful hit singles from the 1970's, which are still played today. What a tragic story of them being inexperienced in the business end of popular music and being taken advantage of by slimey unscrupulous scumbags in the music business.
Unfortunately, this happened to many bands in the USA, especially in the early years of Rock & Roll, [Mafia criminals], in the music production and managing business, and also to bands from other countries later on, like Badfinger.

@@johnboylan3591 Maybe their families got some royalties now (Pete Ham and Tom Evans wrote the song)...At the time of their death it was popularized by Harry Nilsson but the real royalties and global recognition came many years after they passed away with Mariah Carey in 1994 ....

'Baby Blue' was my favourite song, was on the airwaved summer of '72; sad memories for me as well as the love of my life leaving me for someone else when I went to reconcile w/her---

Badfinger could have and should have been one of the greatest and most successful bands of the 1970s and beyond. Instead, they were mercilessly fleeced by their evil, corrupt manager and greedy record companies. As a result, much of their brilliant music sat forgotten and unheard for decades. As much of a heartless crook as Allen Klein was, he was a mere novice compared to the thoroughly loathsome Stan Polley.

Theirs is one of the most tragic stories in pop band history. Yes there were others but from having such a promising start they by no fault of their own sank by being ripped off by a dishonest a manager. The resulting suicides a sad reflection of Pete and Tom utter despair.

Didn't own but 1 LP by them. Straight Up. Loved it so much that I bought the 8 track tape so I could listen to it on the way to work @ McDonald's after school. ♪┌|∵|┘♪└|∵|┐♪ 🍔🍟

Everybody forgets the alcoholism that was involved Peter Hamm killed himself cuz he was really drunk look it up I think suicide is one of the most selfish things you can do when you have a wife who's pregnant this walk culture is insane blaming everyone else for your selfishness and narcissism

People who are suicidal are lost, so deep in their awful mindstate they are incapable of thinking properly or thinking of others. This is severe mental illness.

Badfinger is probably the most tragic rock and roll story of all time…criminal that Stan Polley got away with what he did…and so sad Pete Ham, the sensitive artist he was, hung himself with a daughter on the way. Their music is still great to listen to.
