- Hi guys, first this is not my original idea 😊 the first beaded crochet blanket I found went back to 1997. Like most trends, they come back around. I have been seeing these on my FYP on tiktok lately and thought I'd give it a try. What do you think? So many variations you could do with this. Which is wonderful 😀

@@kb_crochet61 I sure got the yarn. lol Knit Picks haul x2... Eye candy for sure... Got to wait till Friday for the beads to get here.. I'm about an hour from the closest craft store.. So, its cheaper to order than drive. I'd sure burn up the road..
@PaulaKnits 🤣😂🤪 same used to live 10 minutes from micheals and hobby lobby now an hour. I may need to order online more. Herrchners is my favorite never ordered from knit pick🤔
@@kb_crochet61 KP, Brava sport, I'm in love with. Compliments caron late' cakes perfectly.. same weight and very soft. I love their dishy and for socks and shawls, their fingering yarns are wonderful.. I live in NC, so use thinner yarn, especially with crochet. It gets cold, but not usually for long. Love my knitted socks.. I'm like a vanilla sort, just knit.. I've had to work up a pattern for my feet specifically.. I do toe up so I can try them on as I go... I should probable be ashamed of how much yarn I have... But, I got 8,400 beads coming, hmmm Well, I'm going to be nuts for a week with lots of ploans, then when it gets here, I'll probably stare at it a week till something hits me like a rock...
@@kb_crochet61 I think these blankets will be good for autistic kids as comfort with the weight. I was going to sew some weighted blankets once, never ordered the stuff.. Don't even ask about machines, wool fluff for spinning and one weaving frame.... I've been like this since I was 6 and mom taught me to crochet.. (excuses)... (blame mom)... lol

I chain 150 chains its very long an got beads (pony beads ) 3 bags little from dollar tree to try out ....
If you can, add another stitch. Foundation chain is multiple of 2 + 1 then 1 ch for turning. I'm planning a CAL if enough interest. Everyone can pick the size, a lapghan or bigger or just come and start to see how they like it. I started with this sample and have made a purse. Now for the big project, 😆 LOL dollar tree is great for trying new things. I'm definitely a fan 😊💛
White does get dirtier faster, so doin other colors of yarn. Yes black is hard to see, but is generic n classy. How much weight do the beads add to the swatch?

I wonder if we could use wooden beads to get the boho vibe.... they make the wooden beads with wide openings in the hair section at dollar tree. Thank you for sharing this neat idea.
Almost bought some yesterday to try, was unsure about if you could wash the blanket with wood beads. Will still probably try it just to see how it looks. 😊💛
@kb_crochet61 True I never thought about that. I know the ones in the hair section are meant for the hair, and you have to wash your hair So I wonder if they could withstand an occasional gentle wash and then lay flat to dry. Thank you for responding.

Thank you for sharing this video. I'm making a beaded blanket for a gift. It is slow going, but I think it will be pretty when finished. I have trouble with the smaller crochet hook and with the yarn splitting . But I'm going to finish it . Your stitches are so pretty and even. Thanks again.

This is a great idea. Thanks for sharing it. BTW, may I suggest a lighted crochet hook for working with dark colored yarns? I have a set by Transplant and I find it helps a lot.

What size pony beads are you using ?
These are from Wal-Mart the wholes measures approx. 6cm bead size 6X9cm. I want to experiment with different sizes and shapes.

I have a start video using beige/tan yarn. If you want to check it out. Also a purse I made for my granddaughter. Once you know the formula it is easy to do. I'm going to experiment with wood beads soon. Thanks for watching 😊💛
Hey! Love this idea, I'm just wondering, are you able to wash these blankets?
I've read that some can, depending on yarn care instructions. I'd use cold/warm gentle cycle since they are plastic. I wouldn't put them in the dryer. Afraid they would break. I'd try first with a swatch just to make sure. Hope this helps 😊💛
@@kb_crochet61I have wool dryer balls and I’d probably try this on the “Air” or “Cool” temp on a “Gentle” cycle.
Definitely don’t add any heat to this. ❤

I have a beige/tan I can use 😁 just had surgery on my wrist but if I can I'll work on a video for this 😊
