lia was always the scapegoat for itzy. people were shaming her looks, targeting her weight, vocals and dancing. she was always the member that got the most hate since debut. i’m staying neutral on her bullying scandal cause there’s no solid proof and i wouldn’t be surprised if the allegation is to simply bring her down. i just can’t understand why? lia improves every comeback, she tries her best to keep up and her unique voice adds colour to itzy, she definitely deserved to be in itzy. also chaeryeong is so pretty, like are people blind??? leave itzy alone

Best thing JYPE ever did to ensure Itzy’s success was teaching all of them English. Part of the reason I like them so much is because they put out content in English that I can enjoy more than watching Korean with subs. They also do interviews in English so are known by the wider western audience.
JYPE made Itzy to conquer the west. Most of them can English and one is fluent. Yes, they did taught them to speak English because they had the time to do so.
They could had done with Twice but it's impossible because of there packed schedules and adding English lessons to their already exhausting schedules is a big no no.
i really wish JYP made Twice learn English pre debut tbh. i feel like they’d be much more popular if they had more content in English

JYP made Twice to conquer the Japanese market by adding Japanese members and teaching the members to learn Japanese. It takes a long time to learn a new language especially if you are a beginner which all Twice members are mostly in thr beginning level. Also all of the members don't have enough confidence when speaking English in front of a camera.

@@noobleman2685 Twice wasn't really a group made to become global superstars. They were made only for Korea and Japan. But when they started gaining popularity in the west, JYP decided to expand them into the US market.
As regards to these bullying scandals, it really is a "he said she said" type of situation and I wouldn't put it past people to lie since a few other artists have been dragged through the mud until evidence comes out that shows that artist was actually a really good person. Now I can't say that for every artist, but I'm going to need real evidence to prove something is true, "innocent until proven guilty."
Really respect for the girls for always giving high quality work I used to think they don't get much hate until I started checking stuff about them... They always give their best regardless all the criticism they get and always show love to other idols.. Really respect their potential

Tbh I never even heard of Lia or Hyunjin's scandal until you mentioned them and I only got into Itzy during their crazy in love period.
LOCO just really touched me and it help brought me out of my unmotivated phase and see the world through rose coloured lenses again. Itzy will always hold a special place in my heart especially Yeji ♡

It’s just weird how bullying scandals play out in sk. There never seems to be proof on either side and no one is ever willing to take it to court. So atp, people can either believe lia is a bully or not, but it’s misinformation to claim it as fact. You’re acting like you know lia’s whole personality, every idols acts the same, nice and respectful, some could even be faking it
Lia seems like a nice person but could be fake and mean behind the scenes (in her case I don’t think she’s acting, but there have been lots of cases where idols have been exposed as mean or rude when they had a good public image). We should look at the evidence (or in this case lack of evidence) as the reason for thinking she’s innocent or guilty.

Lia has such a bright and caring personality that imagining her as a bully would mean that she's actually a Hanibal Lector level of sociopath, which is extremely unlikely to say the least. Funny how the people who accuse her of bulling are worse bullies themselves... Shame on anyone who tries to tare down another person's career out of jealousy or spite!

The dude who claimed Lia was mean to him, because he took a book she had and gave it back to the owner (who never actually asked him to do) before Lia was ready to give it back (she legit barrowed it), she got upset with him and addressed him about it. In fact when the girl who's book it was was asked about it, she said she had no issue with Lia and gave her the book to read, and has NO idea why the guy took it on her behalf. The police Investigation determined there was NO way to prove he spoke out to harm her career or not. THAT is all, they made no finding of fact on either side as to who said or did what. They never found her to be a bully or was there any documentation on the issue other than the statements made by the 3 involved individuals. SO YOU ARE JUST wrong.

I know you can't judge a book by it's cover, even Red Velvet's Irene had a bad day and snapped on one of her staff members, but that doesn't mean she's suddenly a horrible person as soon as the camera's are off. What I'm saying is that people should look more carefully into what we do know about a person, before they go pointing their fingers trying to shame someone. Don't bandwagon the hate.

The company released a statement along with the police, stating that there is no evidence to state that the bully was Lia. Alot of knetz have come out in defense of Lia and said that the accuser was just trying to tarnish Lia's reputation out of jealousy. There is an article with comments about this on pannchoa. Itzy recently did an article with billboard about "Checkmate " and how they resonated so much with the lyrics. They even addressed the hate comments that they receive. Lia said that often they will get hurt by the words that people say but the members often reassure each other that the haters don't know the real them so they shouldn't pay attention to the lies people say about them out of jealousy. I personally think that the reason why they have been able to overcome it all is because of their close bond. I'm so proud of them and will continue to support them.

the hate train against ITZY is crazy considering these girls are all so humble, hard working, genuine, and extremely talented. No one in 4th gen can out perform ITZY’s stages. MAMA 2021 performance alone is proof of that. I just hope that the girls won’t get affected by all the anonymous bullies online because they don’t deserve the hate at all.

To all the people saying “Lia is so sweet she wouldn’t bully anyone” you have NO IDEA what idols are like behind the scenes, not just her but everyone. I personally think she is a genuinely nice person and therefore wouldn’t bully anyone, but we should rather justify not believing the accusations as “innocent until proven guilty, no evidence or police investigation has been made public so there’s no reason to believe it”.

It isn't because of a youtube mistake actually. Not defending the itzydisband stuff, but midzys started it. Last week when Girls was released, the same thing happened where Girls would show up on other searches so Midzys said to report aespa's song and many followed. Then when aespa became millionsellers Midzys started saying SM is buying the albums themselves, and basically every achievement aespa had during Girls was put down by mainly Midzys who kept saying shit like "enjoy ur moment itzy is coming". So MYs are doing the same for Midzys now that Sneakers isn't doing as good as Midzys expected it to and Sneakers is also showing up on other groups searches and so on. Midzys hated on Karina's dancing so much she apologised for her own dancing not being good enough and asked that MYs don't repost her dance covers anymore, Giselle and Ningning also addressed the hate they receive a few times, so aespa see all the hate Midzys send them but Midzys didn't care and are now saying they hope Itzy don't see the itzydisband stuff and that they're okay. I wouldn't want either aespa to see hate nor itzy to see the itzydisband stuff. It's childish and petty, but I just wanted to point out that MYs weren't the ones who started it because we're always painted as the villains. Midzys don't know when to quit either and I just hope these fanwars don't damage the girls friendship because they're close

hi I've been a midzy since their debut I didn't know about most of the scandals because I live under a rock. They were the first Kpop group that I have followed right from the start the first group that I really followed I wish the best for them. They will always hold a special place in my heart
Now the girls are going on a World Tour and they are gonna break records. As a Western fan I got to know ITZY from Loco, It was actually a hit in U.S. My girls are gonna slay no matter what. Loco was the comeback that officially made me a Midzy and I had absolutely NO idea about the scandals that were going on at the same time! I'm constantly reminded of the huge difference in how South Korea treats bullying scandals versus other countries, because of how huge of a problem it is there, but regardless of whether or not Lia is innocent, people can and do change and there's no reason her behavior while a student should define who she is as a person now. From what I've seen, all Itzy members are kind and sweet, and very very hardworking and talented, and they don't deserve all the hate from K-netz.

Lia is like the Jessica, Krystal and Sulli of her generation. People take everything and run with it to the extremes. It’s honestly just jealousy. People have a hard time accepting a girl that has a lot going for her.
Is it possible she was unfriendly with some people in middle school? Maybe. But who is the perfect person in middle school? Who’s to say the people who accused her were unkind to her either? Also, boarding schools are notorious for petty rich kid behaviour. Lia left the boarding school to become an idol - a much harder and gruelling life. Her life choices alone speak for the fact that she didn’t like the environment she had been in.

I think the reason JYP didn't put Lia on hiatus was because they were really confident the rumours were completely false, that's why they immediately pressed defamation charges as soon as the accusations started up

btw i wanna add a detail in how they were formed there was a survival show that they went on before lia joined instead mashiro from kep1er was the leader of their team idk what happened with her but it's still crazy to me to know this i only found out a month ago shortly after becoming a midzy honestly i can't imagine kep1er without mashiro or itzy without lia also i seriously doubt lia would still be in the group if jyp thought she was guilty
No hate but even if Lia used to bully people ( i really think she didn't) that doesn't give these toxic people the right to do the same to her. Like there are other ways other than hating one for the past act u don't know if they even have done. I stan ITZY with all my heart and really hate in when certain people with no direct evidence of some random scandal bully idols for no reason😡. They are already going through soo much but still people have to hate them. Even the companies don't wanna apply so many harsh rules and regulations on the idols but just because of all these hates they too have😔😔 If we want to stop this, we have to change the pase of our thinking🙂

I dont understand one thing and that is why do all have to play a victim card after the idol being debuted and have a big future ahead of them . Why didn't yey address their case before them debuting like you literally trying to ruin her career but doing soo and even though she might have been a bully in past . One of the bullying accusations I saw in the past is that they couldn't see their "bully" in tv so they became adverse of that.
Just getting in their headspace, I guess there’s no fun in accusing someone unknown, but once they go up it’s more satisfying to get revenge and bring them down. #crabmentality
i think alot about some of these stupid controverses because since itzy is such a outstanding gg i think people are just jelouse of their sucess.
I don't get why the smallest crap from middle school matters so much to these people. People change, bullies can change into good, especially if they were kids back then; being a not so good person in the past doesn't make you a criminal in the present. It's pathetic to be the accuser of a child's / teenager's minor mistreatments from way back ago. That's why people grow up, and mature, so they become (theoretically ofc) better versions of themselves.
So even if someone were a bully in the past, that doesn't make them a bad person in the present.

Tbh I think JYP did a good job of hiding Lia’s scandal. I’ve been getting into KPop for the last few months and this is the first time I’ve heard of this.
They didn't hide it there was just nothing there. It was a dude who made multiple online accounts to confirm his own statements as facts. He was upset with Lia because she called him out for messing in her business. All over a book Lia borrowed from a friend of hers, and had not yet returned. This guy liked LIAs friend, and wanted to impress her and took the book without asking Lia and gave it back. The friend never asked him to and said she didn't have any issues with Lia and no idea why he was getting involved. Of course LIA could say something about it to him. But he blew his chance with the friend and held a grudge. That's all it ever was. PERIOD. The police only said they didn't find him trying to intentionally hurt her career, which by the way, here in Korea, is an actionable offense, regardless if what is said is true. If you harm some's name or image even with truth, it is actionable as defamation here. So they just said, well we don't think we can prove his intention to harm her name or career and didn't pursue the case against the dude. Never was it determined if it was true or false. They did say, they found nothing to indicate he was bullied or that Lia acted inappropriately toward him. But poor translations and antifans just jumped on it saying "If they didn't charge him, it must be true" That is not the case. But regardless of if she said harsh words to him for butting into her business with her friend or not, that is not bullying because if it was EVERY PERSON IN THE ENTIRE WORLD has been bullied in their lifetime. Not one of you can say you havent heard something unpleasant from a schoolmate or co-worker in your life. OR said something to one yourself.

JYP isn’t really the best in dealing with scandals like forcing Tzuyu to apologize for raising her country’s (Taiwan’s) flag and placing a gag order on most of their idols for scandals. But it’s unfair for the other girls to get dragged because of this. I’m happy that even though there are a lot of trolls, the girls don’t look too harassed and are still strong as ever. At least they can’t be faulted for being lazy (Lia is just not a technical dancer but she’s improving), lipsync queens (just listen to their heavy breathing after their performances), dead in the eyes/expressionless faces (just watch all their face cams), and looking like carbon copies (JYP sure knows how to create groups with distinct looks and personalities).
I’m staying neutral on the bullying issue as their might be a basis (Lia is known for her persuasiveness ie. See France video when she got the room she liked even if another member also liked it) but we don’t know to what degree (ie not paying a classmate is miles apart from being violent). I think if it was true to some degree they’d issue an acknowledgement and accept that people are not perfect. They should take a page out of Seo Ye Ji’s playbook when her cray cray manipulative gf personality was exposed, she just came back in another femme fatale, mistress role to cash in on the hate of the Knetizens.
Itzy Is like one of the best groups of this generation and all they do is try their best and that's why they have so many midst like you and I and I hope their future is as bright as stars
