Exactly. It’s the same parasocial relationship that happens when a fan gets a crush on an adult celebrity. Obviously Ariana grande is not going to like an 11 year old boy back, or is Harry styles going to like a little girl back. Will it stop a child from crushing? No. But just like every other adult put in that situation, you don’t return those feeling.

My sons social studies teacher in 7th grade was what you say gorgeous, she was no more than 24 years old, and all her male students were in love with her . However, and I know this for sure, she always maintained a distance from her students, even shutting down her fb when some of the students found it and sent her friend requests. She went as far as bringing her very nice husband to after school functions. My son, I remember, was very disappointed that his teacher was not interested in any of the boys, when I told him that’s the way it should be, he kinda got sad. But he and all his friends and boys in that middle school got over it . This teacher still working in this middle school in central Texas. I really appreciate her.

It is SO weird how men often say "I wish a teacher did this to me as a boy".
It totally undermines the victim's trauma and their ordeal. It is such a weird double standard.

I had similar when I was 25 and teaching, 42 years ago. One of my students had a crush on me. My colleagues helped by talking to the boy who was 17 and explaining boundaries and appropriate behaviour. I was not flattered. It was embarrassing and cringy and I never felt comfortable. Chloe you are a consummate professional. You have to report as this behaviour can also be a red flag in terms of how these students may be treating other students. I had a boy of 14 twerk at me several times and reported him and would have filed a sexual harassment claim, but he was dealt with. There will come a time when Baby will learn about their conception and birth circumstances, which of course will lead to trauma and affect their life, in turn affecting the lives of any children they may have. This isnt over because she is caught, this is the start of years of generational trauma. The 6.5-year sentence reminds me of short-length sentences in America as well. I was a victim at 13 years old and the person only received 4 years and I think that hurt the most, so I can't imagine how unfair it feels to those boys. I hope they heal and grow up to be strong and amazing people. Thank you for your covering a case like this especially for the boys because I feel like they don't get any or little justice when they are victimized.

Judges in the UK i think have guidelines on sentences but in the U.S it appears at the whim of the judge . Three U.S cases involving teachers and 13 year olds . Brittany Zamora - 20 years no parole / Alexandra Vera - 10 years with parole / Marca Bodine - 60 DAYS and 10 years probation . Doubt there would be such a vast difference in sentences in the UK .
Florida teacher Jennifer Fichter got 22 years for relationships with three 17 year old students but female who KILLED three teens in dui only got 15 years . Consensual sex a bigger crime than killing people . American justice is a strange thing indeed .

A male teacher in my state (in the United States) was arrested for sexual assault of a 16 year old female student. Unreciprocated sexual contact, not that this detail really matters under the law. After his initial arrest, it took over 2.5 years before the case went to trial. He was on bail with no monitoring the entire 2.5 years. He was convicted by a jury to the max sentence (20 years), but in my state he may only end up serving 4.5 years. I pray this country requires she serve the ENTIRE time. Wish my country and my state would impose harsher sentences with no early release.

It really makes me upset. This happened to my uncle. His teacher was a white woman that taught on a Native American reservation. She was in her early twenties and had been his teacher since he was a freshman in high school. 14. This was back in the 1970s. Not much was done about it because when his parents my grandparents went to the police they said that we were just trying to start trouble for a white woman. The parents ended up confronting her and she admitted to it saying that they were in love. Nothing was done about it and he ended up killing himself when he was 19. He said that he was severely psychologically damaged and confused. He often talked about wanting to kill her. Boy or girl consenting or not, it damages children. People argue all the time about how they are small children they are teenagers but they are still children. Most scientific research says that teenagers and young adults brains don't even fully develop until they're in their early twenties.

In my opinion, she got off so easily because she is seen as conventionally attractive and there's the horrific idea that "it's not that bad because they were just being boys and their teacher was hot". Especially in Boy B's case, he will never live another day where her actions have not impacted him and how he will live his life. If I were his parents, I would petition the courts for her to never see that baby. I agree with you that this was probably her plan from the start, so rewarding her with time with the baby is absolutely ludicrous to me.

ETA: I have to say, in the US, a man convicted EASILY would have been let out on bail before sentencing, AND have a VERY light sentence. I was a victim of a very similar crime, and he got a year. Which was the FIRST time anyone in my state received any prison time at all for a first offense on a child.
To be clear it was not his first offense, and I wad not his only victim, but the justice system pleads so many things down, and the people that employ these predators protect them, instead of calling the police. It is BS. We need to look at the sentencing for sexual abuse of children, and make some MAJOR changes.
