      Heart of the elements got shafted so hard. The relics are basically useless now as they only last for a boss or 2 before being outclassed.

    What's funny is that I've speculated in my head that it would be very fitting if the devourer had his own sub-world, to fit into his lore, make his death pack more of a punch and give more exploration and stuff to do in between bosses. I thought about this for providence too, as providence is said to have been gathering energy in the center of a sun, descending prematurely ever since you got access to one of her relics. But, a biome makes sense, as she can't "descend to earth" if you go to *her*
    So this makes me wonder: potential future bosses making a return? What if Providence absorbed the entire sun or multiple? They were initially removed for being too similar to their counterparts, but if they achieve everything mentioned in this video and more, I would love to see a sub-world fighting a new set of future bosses

      Non linear progression seems interesting as a mod concept, though it would be kinda peculiar is be able to hoik into the temple, kill golem first and kill king slime as the last boss

      reminds me of an idea where beating dog first makes provi harder and vice versa, I've no clue if calamity will do that, but it'd be real fun

    Extra trivia: the new Aerospec armor's helmets are based on the ones worn by Malenia, Blade of Miquella and The Cleanrot Knights, enemies from Elden Ring.

    Devourer looks like he's getting a little bit of Auric armor or that's something akin to a muzzle to keep him under control

      Well from what i know yharim did reinforce dog's armor so making it more auric theme style makes sense

    I like the focus on early game building since 1.4 really wants people to build more bases with the new npc system and pylons instead of just one big mega base

    I'm probably most excited for the Ravager rework. The fight always felt lacking to me and I think the new design will fit even more to Ravager's theme, Open Frenzy.

      personally, ravager is the worst fight in calamity and its unfortunate as open frenzy is one of my favourite tracks. im super excited for the ravager rework especially since its just a worse golem currently, hopefully itll finally be interesting

    3:00 A lot of these are confusing if not nonsensical. It is not explained why Firecracker scaling throughout the game is somehow an issue considering it's a weapon that entirely revolves around minions instead of itself being strong. And as far as I know they will in fact completely remove the minion interaction & synergy part of Firecracker's effect, making the explosion based on Firecracker's base damage instead of the minions. I thought we wanted whips to synergize with minions and not whips to carry? Completely baffling idea. As for changing whip tags from additive to multiplicative, there is a nasty elephant in the room: How do you balance early pre-Hardmode whips so that they are effective with early game minions without being overpowered with Hardmode minions? It has been MONTHS and not a single Calamity developer has been capable of uttering some sort of IDEA or RESPONSE to how to tackle this big problem besides "We'll see" or "we don't know". As far as I'm concerned, this is pretty much an *impossible* issue to fix and the only way to approach this really is to keep additive tag damage alive in Pre-hardmode. That, or making a bunch of arbitrary changes to essentially "cap" whip effectiveness past a certain point which in comparison is lazy and just artificially "killing" weapon viability once they are out of date so to speak.
    As for removing crits.... what's the reasoning exactly? There has been a LOT of outbursts about crit tags being supposedly very overpowered and balance-breaking with zero elaboration presented. IT'S LITERALLY NO DIFFERENT FROM MULIPLICATIVE TAGS IN PRACTICE. THERE'S ZERO REAL DIFFERENCES BESIDES ONE OF THEM LEADING TO HIGHER DAMAGE VARIANCE. Anyway, Whip stacking. Removing it would have been excusable and understandable if it weren't for the fact True Melee is a thing and is actively balanced and tweaked to the point of boss AI being directly changed if you hold a True melee weapon. And in general, I thought Calamity was so much harder and deeper than vanilla? I thought we wanted every class to be as "deep" and technical as possible? But anyway, autoswing by default is a good change and fall-off damage penalty being more severe is also something I support considering the amount of worm bosses in the mod.

      not a dev, but would it be hard to have some whips with additive summon damage, with others being multiplicative? that way, early game whips can still be useful whilst letting more powerful whips remain relevant in the late game
      also I do agree with your first point, whips can be used on their own, but their primary purpose is to enhance your minions, more-than-the-sum-of-its-parts style. turning firecracker into budget solar eruption is a garbage idea

      @@AutistiCat2406 yes, it has the highest dps and kill times along with rogue. maybe what you’ve seen is outdated. summoner and rogue are the strongest classes and it’s uncontested.

    A couple minor things to mention:
    1) There have actually been revealed what new bosses will have added at some point in the future, those ones being Yharim, Noxus and Xeroc (the last two classified as "Super-Bosses"). At some point i think they even mentioned there will be one exclusive to the Boss Rush?
    2) The Relics certain bosses drops can sometime have the tool tip line "A glimpse into what will be..." referencing the relics's design being a tease of what the bosses will look like in the future.
    3) A "Exo armor" is planned, and i think it will be more on the "Tank" side of stats. I'm also sure enough the Exo weapons in general will get a resprite, but that might not happen for a while....because reasons. There's no concept art for the new design as far as i know.
    4) However there's one for the new design of the elementals weapons.
    And yeah, there's likely a ton more stuff we don't even have any idea about the future of this project. I have a feeling Calamity is not going to run of new content anytime soon.
    Also i have to admit, you did a LOT of research for this video, really great job. I didn't even knew the new Wulfrum's sprites were even public.

      i was very surprised that they werent aware of the officially announced new bosses. Its very easily found and almost everyone knows about it, cause, well, its exciting to know what the endgame will eventually be. Unfortunately no estimation can be made on when calamities main progression will be finished, and if I had to guess I'd say easily past 2025-2026

      Exo weapons do indeed have resprites planned, in fact the exoblade will get it's resprite next update along with it's rework. It is not confirmed if the others will get resprited as well or not, and it was never confirmed why they haven't added them in the first place but it's easy to assume that the artist working on them simply went inactive

      @@AItraxia Oh damn, the resprite for Exoblade already? that's really cool! But at that point it would make all others look bad in comparison (at least the older ones), so i still think they'll have to do it at some point anyway.
      I think the artist is called Inanis, right? I heard they make amazing stuff (like the victide set resprite and also the Exo stuff apparently), but after that they might just f**k off for the next 1000 years with no words from them, which is a shame.

    I'm so excited to see where this mod is heading, it's almost becoming its own game at this point. Lots of these bosses needed the reworks and I'm sure as time goes on every playthrough will get even more enjoyable.

    This sounded so cool, goes to show that while calamity is already superb, it still has a lot of room for improvement and I can't wait for the day that we have all bosses, Supreme calamity is already a superb fight and I can't imagine how they will up the insanity

    xeroc and noxus im pretty sure will be the new super bosses since scal was downgraded to just a boss, yharim is the final boss. so classifying xeroc and noxus as final bosses doesn't make much sense in terms of what story calamity is doing. they'd just be there for a post-game kind of challenge after yharim. but honestly, i want to see a sub-world that is just yharim's castle or some shit, along with having an arena being maybe his throne room

    Oh my god the re-sprites look *so* good! Having large clear natural arenas in the Calamity biomes is such a QoL thing and I think it's fantastic so you don't need to spend so long mining out an area for an biome specific boss arena
    I will kinda miss the Ice Cube Cryogen
    Love the concept for the new Yharim, Ceaseless Void, DoG and Storm Weaver

    i’m so excited for these updates!! the resprites look amazing and i’m glad the devs are leaning more into the body/eldritch horror feeling aspects for certain bosses like ravager. the biome updates are much needed too and will add greater replay ability and interest to visit certain areas. here’s to the team for making an awesome mod for us to enjoy!!

    This is a great recap video thank you but there are one or two error that i could notice:
    _The brimstone elemental have a public sprite and is currently being worked on
    _Yharon resprite is no longer being worked on (but will be in a long time)

      I think the public resprite for the brimstone elemental was scrapped but msybe im wrong!

    I'm pretty sure that the golden crown like thing on dog's head is a reference to aldrich's headpiece from dark souls 3, as it is also called devouer of gods.

    1 - I saw the new DoG concept art on Twitter and I absolutely love it! I think the old worm needs a new wyrm design.
    2 - I hope with all of these boss changes, their ai will have am update as well to make them more unique.
    3 - I think it would be a good idea to have a sub area for when we go towards Yharims domain and for other bosss.

    i've always mained summoner and i'm really excited for what calamity can pull out for the class on 1.4, but something about the changes to whips dont feel right. If they're ognna make whip bonuses multiplicative, i hope they atleast change values to better accomodate this change, one of the best things whips did for summoner was make the early game tolerable as your minions didn't do like, 6 damage, but taking this away is gonna heavily impact early game summoner and practically revert it to its struggles it had in 1.3.5, nonetheless, i am extremely hyped for all of this, they're pumping out amazing concepts

      I can see the concern. I really hope they get it right, because they have been a bit stubborn when it comes to whips. But I'm really glad they aren't removing them and are giving them a chance.

      Honestly I kinda stopped playing calamity because of what they did to summoner, as well as a couple of large changes they did to a couple items in the last update. My biggest gripe is how much is forces you to remain _purely_ a summoner, and punishes you heavily for trying to mix classes with it whatsoever; and even then they still seem to try to nerf them

      @@1nning271 ye, for me Ive always played a melee summoner mixed class, where I essentially sacrifice my armor stats in order to have better damage; using a melee weapon while maxing out my minions wherever I can. Calamity making it so that my minions: don't have any added bonuses they're supposed to have _and_ do *50% less damage* was the biggest middle finger it could have given me, as it makes the sacrifice almost null. Even worse considering Calamity forces summoner into the complete opposite playstyle of that which I actually play. Funnily enough, my breaking point was when they butchered the rare sand elemental, essentially making them completely useless

    considering the context of scal's dialogue, i think its quite likely that yharim will make an appearance in some way at some point (not sure how, but given his significance to the lore i believe its to be expected). also convinced that xeroc and/or noxus will be featured in the future.

    Honestly, the demonshade armor change bothers me. I always enjoyed the absolute power trip that comes from having buffs to all classes at once, and considering what you have to do to get it, that power trip is well deserved. The only way splitting up demonshade armor will work is if, in the same update, they add an even stronger armor that is also multi-class to fulfill that same “ultimate power” role.

      demonshade is gonna be an actual armor set that will be balanced for yharims fight, and they’ll probably make a post yharim armor that fills the role that demonshade currently does.

    its not speculation that xeroc will be a boss, thats going to be the future point of boss rush: to unlock the xeroc boss fight. apparently you will fight xeroc the same way yharim did: you wont be able to hurt him in any meaningful way; it would simply just be a fight for his amusement and to test your abilities.

      That sounds cool. But you killed his dragon, maybe if you resurrected Yharon in some form like Supreme Calamitas maybe you could. But something that I hope will happen is Supreme Calamitas teaming up with you to help fight against Yharim, that would make a lot of sense since both despise each other.

      @@kingoffire105 You don't really resurrect SCal, she surrenders at the end of the fight. It is even portrayed in her theme, her internal torment and her fighting Yharim's control over her. The lore states that at the end of the SCal fight, she breaks free from Yharim's curse and returns to her own person. Throughout calamity lore, Calamitas has always been portrayed as the victim.

    Hopefully they fix the corruptions that draedon update cause in multiplayer. Had a run with some friends right at the finish line when that update dropped, and the draedon items corrupted our world

    I really hope that the abyss gets a big update, a completely water themed biome sounds so cool, but the current abyss is very cramped and underwhelming

      There are no plans for a rework for the abyss with the same scope as all other biomes. Just minor changes, like making it as wide as the sulphurous sea, some changes to the terrain generation, stuff like that.
      That might change if they feel like it, but it is not guaranteed.

    The Demonshade Armor is gonna be split into three helmets, a Melee helmet, a Ranger/Rogue helmet and a Mage/Summoner helmet.
    The Melee helmet stays the same with the taunt mechanic.
    The Ranger/Rogue one is gonna blend the two classes together, allowing for Stealth Strikes to be used with Ranger weapons. Stealth Strikes with either class cause massive expanding waves of hellfire.
    The Mage/Summoner helmet is still undecided, but it'll still likely involve blending the two classes together.

    These changes all sound really good, especially the subworlds seem interesting. However, I am afraid multiplayer is gonna be screwed because of the subworlds. I sure hope not, but considering how some bosses get bugged on multiplayer it makes me a bit anxious...

      yeah multiplayer seems to always break modded content, however calamity is looking to use their own subworld system so we'll have to wait and see!
