  • In today's video we are putting the cherry on top of our pit: the 2nd cut silage is going on top of the wholecrop. The whole family is out to give a hand and George. Spend the afternoon on the pit with me. See how the Samasz butterfly mowers groupers performed. Will we have enough silage for the winter?
    Hope you enjoy, any questions hit me down in the comments below, thanks for watching! G'Luck

    Had to chuckle with your comment on Uncles Ian's tractor being in the way.
    You should do a video on the old equipment you have in the yard that is not used any more, there always seems to be and old header, plough, trailer or even tractor around. I know ye got rid of a lot of old gear/scrap last year but would be interesting to see what other things are lying around. After all the straw blower was sitting in nettles for years before being used again last winter.

    Phil would it be worth putting a concrete wall at the back of the whole crop and silage pit walls?

  • @ywilliamhamill5585
    @ywilliamhamill5585 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You should have the shovel and tractor on the pit because the shovel it can roll the pit but its not ideal if you have the tractor and shovel on the pit buckracking plus if their is a break down with the shovel or tractor at least you can still lift the grass and there is no stopping plus as well when your finish lifting for the farmer the tractor can go down the road to the next place the shovel can stay and tidy up and your saying bye to the farmer its giving you the harder money for doing the job

    Hi Phil, if you are ever thinking about building a new cattle shed would you do one with the pit exposed to the cattle?
    A neighbour of mine runs his that way so the dairy cows can eat as much back as they want and cuts down the labour of carting silage to them.
