If you mix tahini with a natural honey it makes a really great paste that soothes sore throat. 1/2 cup Tahini 1/4 cup natural honey. Delish on its own or in a warm drink!!!
the tahini you did is way better than thee one in markets , u used the whole roasted and toasted seeds which contains more minerals than the white once, i know what im talking about coz im now literary living on sesame
I must be on crack. I followed the directions...sorta. lol I read sesame seeds, wrote sesame seeds on my grocery list, asked a grocery store clerk where the sesame seeds were? Went to the sesame seed isle, & grabbed sunflower seeds instead. Got home got my food processor out, had my SESAME SEED OIL ready. Poured up said sesame seeds, which were really sunflower seeds, & said, "That don't look right." Looked on the bag labeled SUNFLOWER SEEDS. Tilted my head, shrugged my shoulders, threw them bad boys in. I would have you know, that was one delicious sunflower tahini. 🤣🤣🤣
I have access to an AMAZING Arabic market so I've never made tahini myself, but I absolutely LOVE it! Roasted Japanese sweet potatoes with a sprinkle of salt and drizzle of runny tahini is incredibly delicious!
The processed types, even the best healthy ones, add oil, that's why its more creamy. What you did, is what I was looking for, now I just need to find, ways to make dressings and I want stir fry sauces with it, no processed added. Thank you My favorite dressing is France with a kick, hope to break that bad habit.
I just got into tahini and wow!! Love! I made an amazing dressing I literally threw together and tasted just like caesar dressing......and a dessert with chocolate......awesome just mixed with maple syrup and dip apples in too!
So glad to have found this channel. This tahini looks really great. Also the name quinoa grab me. My neighbor/sometimes employer raises quinoa up here in southern Alberta. My family has been a fan of quinoa for years And now it’s raised in my neighbourhood
Help :( how long do you put it in the food processor? Mine is already in for 15 mins and there are still whole seeds. I already jarred it but I can put it back if it will make it smoother.
Thanks for this. Just starting my tahini adventure. What I have never seen is Tahini varieties, they alway seem to be made plain. What can you add to the tahini in the blender
I made your delicious tahini recipe tonight for the first time ever. It was fabulous and I am going to check out some of your other recipes soon. I joined you on FB and Pintrest as well. Thank you for sharing your passion for great and healthy food. The energy balls look really good.
You motivated me to make my own peanut butter and it is soooo much better than store bought! I will have to try this. Oh - and I keep my peanut butter in the fridge and it has lasted awhile! :) (aka - way more then two weeks!!).
Excellent video. Two questions: how long did it take for the seeds to release the oil? 2: i tried to make tahin using roasted sesame but it ended up tasting like sesame chalva which I do not like at all. Do you know what went wrong? More/less roast? I added some olive oil to help with the process. Was this a bad idea?
Great channel on u tube, thank you. If a recipe calls for 3 tablespoons of TAHINI. How many tablespoons of sesame seeds would I use to get the 3 tablespoons of tahini?
Ever since I went oil free tahini is my go to for almost every salad dressing I make. I have never made my own though. Would a vitamix make it smoother than a food processor?
@@pevitzachast6892 they mean added oil, food that contains oil naturally is fine. Just like when someone says they are 'sugar free' they still eat fruit and natural sugars, they just dont eat added/processed sugar.
I tried with my high speed food processor(1600Watts) unfortunalely the tahini tasted like burnt rubber, not sure if it is the result of seeds friction with the blades or the gasket seal for the shaft, I suspect the casket seal at high speed gave of burnt particulates of the nitrile rubber. Needless to say I dumped the lot.
Hi Melissa, I just have found your channel a few weeks ago but I’m already in love with your videos💕Keep it up👍For Tahini, I’m actually not a big fan of Tahini because of it’s bitterness! I’ve tried so many store bought ones but I never liked them! Do you use peeled sesame seeds or unpeeled? Maybe with homemade, peeled sesame seeds it won’t get that bitter...🤔What do you think? Lots of love from Germany😘
The traditional recipe for making tahini definitely have other ingredients like flower and vegetable oil What's your making is kind of like sesame butter
I made homemade tahini but it has a super intense flavor. I only use half a teaspoon when recipes say to use 1 tblsp because if I use the amount of the recipe it will only taste at sesame
Thiner tahini is not professional at all. Yes professional mills tend to grind sesame seeds thinner than an average food processor but that makes it less palatable and sometimes unpalatable at all. Local producers near my place know that and make tahini thicker than those professional ones that do not actually eat it to know.
Sesame seeds have oils. The “no-oil” recipes you’re talking about mean nothing, because tahini works so well BECAUSE of the oils. Tahini has oil. Please stop misleading ppl about how tahini has no oils, it simply isn’t true
What she means is not comercial-unhealthy oil, that you know has gone through a hundred different process, has little nutricional value and is generally unhealthy.
What's your favorite way to use tahini?! Let me know!
My all time favorite salad dressing, and I mean all time, is your Everyday Tahini Dressing, just FABULOUS!!!!!
My favourite way to use Tahini is in the form of a dressing mixed with coconut aminos...just love it!!❤️

That's interesting. Will try it. Thanks!
😂😂 glad it worked out
Okay sir you deserve my like 🤣

Dates , Hummus and Tahini make living in the middle east pretty irreplaceable
You seem like an ardent lover of those foods.
I am an addict now brother.
Also, as I understand it, raw sesame seeds have some of the highest amounts of calcium available.
Even roasted ones. My jar says 1 tablespoon has 6% of one daily amount of calcium! Super awesome
Do you roast them dry it a little oil?
I have access to an AMAZING Arabic market so I've never made tahini myself, but I absolutely LOVE it! Roasted Japanese sweet potatoes with a sprinkle of salt and drizzle of runny tahini is incredibly delicious!
Sounds good

This looks so delicious! Thanks so much. I added garlic in mine love love love tahini.
👍 great video thanks 🙏
YOU ARE THE BEST..THE BEST VIDEO ON UTUBE
Can it be kept in the Freezer for a a longer duration? Like 6 months of storage if freezer? With a smaller portion for daily consumption non-frozen.
I love a good hummus, but also a yummy dressing for bowl-type dinners!!
Yes both are so great!!
I just got into tahini and wow!! Love! I made an amazing dressing I literally threw together and tasted just like caesar dressing......and a dessert with chocolate......awesome just mixed with maple syrup and dip apples in too!
Thanx for that brooke, im going to try it. I like apples with peanut butter but i lurve maple syrup so will try it next when i grab an apple 👍
I love your video so much. How can one remove the bitter taste in tahini
Mistake numero uno, don’t watch these videos when you are hungry. 😁
Do you clean the sesame seeds in water before grinding?
So glad to have found this channel. This tahini looks really great. Also the name quinoa grab me. My neighbor/sometimes employer raises quinoa up here in southern Alberta. My family has been a fan of quinoa for years And now it’s raised in my neighbourhood
👍 thank you so much 👌
I love the way you make tahini because you don't use any oil: much healthier!
Wow lookin out for the tahini blondies!
Help :( how long do you put it in the food processor? Mine is already in for 15 mins and there are still whole seeds.
I already jarred it but I can put it back if it will make it smoother.
The receipe starts at 1:22 .
Do you have to toast the seeds ?
Does making the tahini with hulled seeds reduce the bitter flavor?
Thanks for this. Just starting my tahini adventure. What I have never seen is Tahini varieties, they alway seem to be made plain. What can you add to the tahini in the blender
Just a doubt. Is tahini bitter always?? I made this but it was quite bitter but super savory.
I'm bew to Tahini. does it normally have a slight bitter after taste?
Probably just overtoasted your seeds.
I was aware of that so I was very careful while roasting but it ended up tasting bitter... don’t know why
Thank you for sharing these recipes, Great show! What’s the name of the guitar song playing in the very beginning by the way?
Are you using hulled or Inot hulled?
What kind of a blinder is that ? It's amazing
Is it ok to use peanut butter to make hummus

Hi..sorry for asking
How long did u blend for the seeds to release the oil?
Do we add any type of oil on the sesame during the grinding ?
I just started eating Tahini and yours now I can't stop watching videos all night but yours was really good thanks
Can I use blender instead of food processor?
In granola? Wow! You’re amazing
Can i know what machine did you use to grind the sesame? Thank you
Are you sure this machine is enough to make the tahini enough creammmy , as you show on your video ? You dont add any oil on it during the procedure ?
Great video Alyssa! Love your content 💜
Thank you, Tara!❤
Spread on wholemeal toasted, and I mean really toasted bread, it has to be crunchy, with organic strawberry jam that has some big pieces in it.
It lasts for how many days in the refrigerator?

Does this count as WFPB? Is this considered 'processed'?
What’s the difference between light and dark tahini ?
Great channel on u tube, thank you. If a recipe calls for 3 tablespoons of TAHINI. How many tablespoons of sesame seeds would I use to get the 3 tablespoons of tahini?
Thank you for these recipes, my daughter has a nut allergy, so subbing peanut butter with Tahini, is great.
How much sesame seeds did you put in the processor?
love your recipes
Can I add Tahini to my falafel mix?
Very useful method 👌, thank you 😊

patty 8873 there’s a lot of oil in sesame seeds. Naturally. I don’t understand this trend.

@@veganath NOOOOO! When it cools down the bitterness goes. Now youl have to try it all again.
@@verabentley7868 YEEEEEES! lol... I waited for the tahini to cool and still unfortunately it tasted like burnt rubber, sad....
Did you cook it? You directly blend with out showing complete procedure
I tried this but it ended up tasting a little bit bitter. I used unhulled sesame seed like you have shown....

Amazing, I'm going to try it in granola.
I make a really good pasta salad with a tahini lemon dressing, I just love tahini.😂😂😂
Sounds fabulous!
I use tahini to make hummos (with chickpeas) and also grilled eggplant, crushed with garlic salt and olive oil (Baba Ghanoush)
Brilliant pre-drinks game: Every time she says tahini - drink!
How long it takes to be expired?
she said a couple of weeks, but I think it depends on how fresh your sesame seeds are.
How did you know I was looking for this O.O
nice i wanted the recipe where it is just sesame seeds and nothing else cool glad i don't have to buy a special gadget
preparation 1.23 and it missed one ingredient oil.
The reason why the commercial product is smoother is because they add oil to their paste.

There are natural oils in the sesame seeds. I do not understand this at all. Half of the seed is oil. I’m so confused.

made this tahini and discovered that i hate the flavor. i have to hide its flavor in a brownie or something.
Has anyone used a vitamin for these recipes❓
I eat it straight 👌
I like to add honey to my tahini, then i could eat it all with a spoon.
