I am but a voice crying in the wilderness! we will not get together in slums on the outskirts, living a lifestyle that society imposes on us, but we live as Jesus Christ has made us by his word, and said that was good. I am a pastor, singer, music minister, teacher, black and freed by the blood of Jesus, and mourning for faith and freedom of my brothers. God bless you richly. Pastor Egidio, aka midigrillo!
I`m white.Years ago I used to spend a lot of time at the home of a black friend. His family and I would play this song and sing its lyrics and enjoy laughter and friendship. The song brings back great memories.God bless the white and black races and everyone else.Let O`Bama bring all of us together!
What a beautiful sound to rejoice in the people all the people that God made in his perfect image no matter what you look like or how you percieve yourself. You are important. Yoiur heritage is important, your persona is important. We are all the same. Did you know in the Human Genome Project it is a scientific truth that we are only 0.1 percent difference. That is 1/1000 difference. People truly are people. Arrested Developement sent out a terrific message and God will honor that.
although it seems totally unrelated to the song's meanings, being in a really low state of mind lately, this song has given me something back; some kind of hope
I took this albulm to Finland on a conservation trip back in 97 People would request it on the mini bus everday-& when we out planting forests and fixing sand dunes-I had a GHETTO BLASTER & regardless of how lovley we all were(20 OF US) my Album disappeared on my return to U.K , Hey I then got it on C.D then guess what? I forgive them ...thanx Arrested Development for being THE BEST hip hop!
Yeah you never know who you're stepping to so better leave violence allone and give peace a chance. GREAT TRACK!!!! WE NEED MORE LIKE THIS IN THIS TIME
Arrested Development was so real, not only in the message in their music but they were a very intelligent young Black group. There was no "ignorance" in none of their songs.
I've had an opportunity to meet AD...they're extremely nice and very talented people:)real stars;) greetings for the whole band and Gregg the manager :) love you guys:D
This song uses two samples that I love to this day. "Everyday People" by Sly & The Family Stone (the chorus) and "Tappan Zee" by Bob James (the background music). What a genius combination that Arrested Development came with. I love it!!!
i loved this CD it was so good. The music was good and it was a good feeling kinda of CD. I dont even remember the second album. I did like Speach's little Solo thing, for a minute. HAHA AWE thanks for uploading this here !
Man this album was such a good feelin album... when the next album dropped it got no love because this one was so good... 2nd spin or in any used section of cd's the next album had its own isle practically. Everyone was returning that shit, Oh and ya'll remember Columbia House Music subcribers... I know all u still got it in that little package....
@daikuarumando I remember it being on the album, but, it was a bonus "remix" track. I got the CD when I was a kid, back when it was brand new, then got stolen at school. I downloaded it off Utorrent recently, but this version was not there.
man i was in jr high wen i listen to all the best music of the early 90´s and you felt the music you dance to te music and you felt like you where flying. in the 90 i watch mtv all the time. now i just dont give a dam, their is nothing good on. its all crap no feeling no nothing.
on holiday in cyprus a club called carwash played this (then return of the mack straight after). From then on I decided it was the best club I've ever been to.
@kummeliman it's true. i was watching a documetary the other day on reggae and toots hibbert was saying that reggae artists these days have little respect for the message that they're supposed to be conveying. reggae is akin to god.
I love the way this kinda mucis makes you feel... But i do believe that music will get back to what it use to be... I am a 90's baby and i do get tired of the dance music and i'm 17...but i do wish people will stop knocking the hustle of todays artist... because if you ask them who they look up to they will give you every old school artist you could think of...and i love me some old school.....lol
I remember a long time ago 1992, I was at a BBQ picnic in the park. The DJ played this song about 5 times and we never got tired. We danced our asses off. Ah, memories.
@DIZZZZY1975 the people that still do music nowadays with that "it mattered" attitude r few but its nice to know that there are people that still have that generic hip hop sound to em. to name some they are Jurassic 5, Jay Z(still has the ghetto sound), even Eminem has enough sense to make a serious song, some lesser known groups like Swollen Members, Aceyalone, and Zion I
Actually no, reminiscing about eighties soul, r and b, funk etc.. brought about mention of this wonderful band.. Always loved this song.. I can see Chris Rene relating to this music.
Arrested Developement was playing at a party I went to and I had NO idea they were coming. When they started playing, it was like pice of me died and went to heaven, I was that happy!:D
ayo, Arrested Development were one of the 100 Hip-Hop legends interviewed for the book "HOW T O RA P: The Art and Science of the Hip-Hop MC" They drop a ton of knowledge in that book and they also interview Tribe Called Quest, Pharcyde, and loads of classic HipHop groups and MCs

They started here in my native Milwaukee. I used to watch them at the Globe East and Shank Hall just before they went global. Brilliant show !
Just saw them about an hour ago at the Ottawa Folk Fest. Open air in a big field, great night, everyone was dancing, feels good. Incredible band.
