    I want to upgrade to a variable speed pump. Is my PDA-PS6, Type Combo, Firmware 1.2 able to use a IQ20-RS iAqualink 2.0 RS Conversion Interface Kit with PCB board to control Jandy Variable Speed Pump.

    I just installed a Smart JVA control board into my Aqualink RS4 system. I do not have a One Touch controller, so I went through the steps that you provided (and in the instruction manual for the SJVA) by using the FLUIDRA iaqualink portal, which all seamed to work fine, well...except that the JVA that is connected to the SJVA control board does not move at all (note that I did move the JVA back to my "Solar" connector and the JVA moves the full 180 degrees.) The LED on the SJVA board is on solid when the JVA should be moving and flashes when not in use. Are there any tests that can be performed to determine why the JVA is not moving when requested? Thank you.

      The JVA you want to control should be plugged into the SmartJVA board. Also you will need to assign the SmartJVA to the proper JVA in the "Smart JVA Setup" within Aqualink. There is also a "Calibrate" button in this section that you should use. In addition, the buttons on the bottom of the physical JVA that is plugged into the SmartJVA will no longer work. You still must put that button to left or right but NOT center. Center turns the JVA "off". Good luck!

    Bob - I have the same setup. I recently purchased a new 'Aqualink PDA' board to upgrade my existing Aqualink RS' PCB that is vintage 2003. I have a One Touch panel (newer) that works with the RS system now. After installing the Aqualink PDA Power Center main board, I can't get the One Touch Panel to work - It powers and displays Firmware Revision, but no controls. Do you have any suggestions on a setting or something else that needs to be set on the PDA board or One Touch Panel to make them work together? All controls work at the Aqualing PDA main board - only a Onbe Touch issue. Thanks.

      Issues with RS485 devices frequently can be fixed by moving the 4-wire connection to another plug. You may have up to 2 devices in each. Swap a couple around if you are having issues. In addition, try setting the address on the OneTouch to another address. This is a jumper switch on the OneTouch board. Try this if the cable swapping doesn't fix it. I have seen this issue with the PDA and swapping the 4-wire connection fixed it.

      Thanks! I have tried swapping between the two 4-pin connectors and also swapping the Black/Yellow wires with no success. I am not sure I know how to change the address on the One Touch - can you elaborate? Thanks!

    • @WoodBob

      I would guess some board is fried. The display is the SWG though and not Aqualink. Are you able to access it remotely via web, PDA or phone interfaces? Are you still producing chlorine?

      My guess is the buttons are getting corrosion on them. You should be able to take the membrane button covers off and clean them with alcohol.

    Hi there! My OneTouch panel stopped working recently. My pool guy suggested I run new cable from the Jandy to the house myself in order to cut down on costs. What kind of cable am I looking for to connect the OneTouch to the Jandy? Thanks so much!

    • @alexkliner3702
      @alexkliner3702 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidgroves4208 Fortunately (kind of) we discovered the OneTouch shorted out due to moisture in the wall from a leak. We tore out the siding and replaced the exterior wood, then ran a dehumidifier for couple of days, and patched everything back up. The OneTouch was back working.
      However my iAquaLink stopped connecting over wifi, so I did go ahead and run outdoor ethernet cable into the module and now my entire system is working perfectly. I know that doesn't answer your question, but that's my update! Good luck. This stuff can be so annoying.

    • @WoodBob

      I am not sure you can just get the latch. The parts sheet does not list it separately. Probably just need to get a generic stainless steel latch and adapt it to the box. app.redpepperdigital.net/a10/publications/2022-product-catalog-no-price/230-231

      That is a good question I do not know the answer. My system is 2017 and REV T.2. Try calling Jandy tech support.

    • @svierregger
      @svierregger 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it can. My RS 12 was circa 2004. If I recall, the IQ20 only works with up to RS-8 out of the box and wouldn't control the B board of my RS-12. I had to reach out to Zodiac and they provided me with the information to pass along to my pool company so they could order, receive and install the upgraded parts I needed. These are my notes from the time I was going back and forth with Zodiac: Jandy/Zodiac will send the pool company (will not send to homeowner) the RS12 upgrade chip for the IQ20 board overnight with a return package for the old chip(s). There is no upgrade necessary for the second board of the RS12 setup. The pool service tech can then install the upgraded RS12 chip and reprogram everything.
      This is the information I needed for my particular setup to get an upgraded RS-12 chip for the main board:
      IQ20-RS Upgrade Kit Serial Number - B16IALMB5141 (Rev T)
      IQ20-RS Upgrade Kit Device Number - QG7-2R3-KGM-8PP
      I upgraded to IAqualink in 2017, so the Rev T might be different now. it's still working well and I just connected a new Pentair IntelliFlo VS 011028 pump to it, which can be controlled from the Jandy controller.

      @@MsGabe25 You connect a 4-wire, RS-485 cable from one of the 2 red 4-wire connectors that I used in this video to the same color terminals in the pump. The pump is Jandy, correct? In addition, you also need to connect the pump relay to the power supply of the pump. There is a pump relay connection (the 1st one "filter pump") that goes to the pump relay. The pump relay provides power to the pump. You can see all of this in the instruction manual. www.jandy.com/-/media/zodiac/global/downloads/0748-91071/6594.pdf?rev=8ef7e65bffb247efb962fe23e434b87e

      I have a sheer descent and a rock waterfall. Sometimes I want all the water on the sheer, sometimes all on the rock. But usually some balance between them. The SmartJVA allows me granular control.
