- Hermione Frank aka rRoxymore is an artist who has carved her own niche in the electronic music scene. By applying a human touch to what is usually synthetic, she has developed her own sound which is difficult to put into a box. Originally from Montpellier, France, she became captivated by the dance music scene, which led to her developing musical ideas of her very own. Fusing the organic to the electronic has set her apart from the crowd, which is clearly demonstrated in the music she has released via labels like Don’t be Afraid, Macro and Ostgut Ton. Electronic Beats TV caught up with her in her studio to find out more about this unique artist.

A great choice of artist for this series, a unique voice with something interesting to say
Her sounds is so fresh. Love her attitude, her curated selection of gear and her sound. Will be deep-diving this for sure.
Love her work ethos. That mixer pot looks like it has been through the wars though. 😂
I can hear how its sissing and crunching from here
One of my favourite producers. Her new releases are so on point! Happy to see she's rocking the MDD snake device =)
Anyone knows which device is she using before open MDD snake?
Her sound is so distinctive! Ps. Love her shirt!
Very cool. I met this lady at a funny gallery that is now closed called Team Titanic about 7 years ago. It was the most awkward meeting I ever had. Her live set was great, so is her attitude and aesthetic. No shame in awkwardness.
An undogmatic, creative mind. Very inspiring.
One of the most exciting electronic artists working right now
One of the best videos yet!
I have no idea how I haven't heard of this woman before but I love her attitude to the process and the scene in general. I'm going to have to dive into her stuff and educate myself.
Thank you for the "primer"!
I love the way she thinks! Refreshing :)
Love what she has to say. I will certainly be listening to her music. And she has an O-Coast and 1010 gear ! How cool is that?
Most inspiring words I heard for a long time!
Excellent video! Thanks.
Nice! Couldn’t agree more
Dude, those first two tracks are amazing!
This was a good one, well most of them are. She is great.
Like rRoxymore`s open mindset 👌🏽😊
Someone needs to call Lana and have her cast as The Oracle, version 3.0.
She doesn’t tell you the truth, she tells you what you need to hear
There is no spoon!
😂🤣 looking like someone's Grandma. Eat the cookie Anna May!
Amazing producer damn !
Vibes of the Drex here love it enjoying listening to the expression here thanks for sharing
Love her voice too it's like a vocal over the soundtrack of her work great feature
I agree completely to what she says
some people like house and techno, some people like to experiment, whatever you wanna make or listen to, just have fun...
Golden
Great words. Thank you!
Super!
Great attitude, vibe and goals. Articulate communicator. Enjoyed this
Awesome outlook and attitude 🤘
Spot on!! Everything she said
Yess
Great philosophy and music! Thanks for the inspiration
looks like a very genuine and humble person; no need for a 10.000€ studio to make music
I think the gear summed up goes for 10.000 €
The laptop, nord and elektron would be about 4000 so add everything else and it's defo a 10 grand studio there.
I think you're missing the point of what she said guys..
And 10k€ of gears over several years of production is not that much anyway
I love it
LEGEND
Havent seen yet but i know that its going to be cool.
Nice approach.
Great tune around 3.00!
people today does'nt understand that 25 years ago artist wish to have the computer base music have like today. why people think that only if you have real 808 you are cool. they missing the whole point of producing and evolve as artist in the tools that you got around you. everything goes today. the funny thing is that people who got the chance to have those gear those days will say to you that u cannot notice. so im proud producing on my computer i have every thing i need im exploring things and im coming from those days. thanks
Most important is to find your own way to translate your creativity into a track or song. If a laptop works for you, great, others might prefer hardware. There are many ways to Rome and no right or wrong 🤓
@@ElectronicBeatsTV so why house is 808 based 115-130 bpm? acid is 909 + 303? etc. no need to talk about ways to Rome)
@lfo I don't get exactly what you mean but House for example is 707, 909, samples and lots of other sounds and instruments too. And you can do all that in the box nowadays. No need to own the original machines (It's just more fun for some). It's up to you and your creativity only.
I guess the beauty of hardware is the unexpected, the random. To rely on vst and on computer screen is also rely on is eyes and code of création imo. Hardware is rely on the limit of the instrument the sync problèmes and go into the core and personal way ofcreating electroning musicale imo.
@@ElectronicBeatsTV
Yes - there are samples, yes - there are other instruments, but you simply cannot play in some chosen genre without some linked instruments (matching the tempo is also an instrument). Simply because genres are quite strict frameworks with certain very deeply integrated instruments into it
Most of "in the box" solutions are designed to emulate btw
What a cool person! I didn't understand one thing though. She doesn't want to do too much in the box, maybe a keyboard to find melodies? A a few lemons? She can't afford it?
love
Queen
Elecganic should be a new genre.
passion :)
Cableguys will surely like your love for cables.
still sounds really electronic to me but I dig
I realy like the groove @ 3:15 Is there a finished track of it?
We want a Loraine James episode!
what max for live stuff is she using?
Finally some broken knobs on youtube
01:07 those mixer knobs 😱
🙂
Can anyone identify that Max4Live version of Rene she's using at 3:03?
it's this one: maxforlive.com/library/device/4771/mdd-snake
The famous noise producing BM5a..
ture words
Anyone have a track ID for 3:45?
rRoxymore price of highest consciousness
@@12jamez66 Thank you!!
... making electronic music, without sounding too electronical??? Does this make sense???
In a way............. yes
Of course it does
"electronic music" is a term that is quite spoiled and saturated. so doing anything something doesn't fit in to a specific genre such as deep house, tech house & techno is organic enough.
this is definitely not a person I would like to communicate, especially about music and its creation
I'm quite certain that she would appreciate your opinion and help you actively to achieve your goal, especially when it comes to music and its creation. And I can assure you, that i would do the same, if i was her! have a day!
@@ZombieflesheaterZFE Oh how sweet
Wow, I'm sure she's absolutely devastated that "lfo" (very imaginative name) from youtube comments doesn't want to communicate with her. Especially about music and its creation.
@@matthewharris6454
Wow, this is a free and open comment section. Wow, this is not an attempt to communicate with an artist. Wow, I am not positioning myself as an artist (but this does not take away my right to have an opinion)
P.S.: If you want to talk about names, then I will only talk to your parents
If you're quote "not positioning yourself as an artist", why on earth are you criticising how you would like to communicate with an artist about creating music. Your comment or indeed even watching this video makes no sense, @lfo. Especially as you made no constructive reason why.
Keep politics out of music. No one cares!
Gatekeeping, and therefore: Politics in action => "Keep politics out of music."
Why don't you keep your politics out of their music then?
@@s90210h Pretzel Logic
People can put politics in their music if they wish. No one is forcing you to listen to it.
