Bruce is great in his own right. CCR sold more 45 Rpm records than any AMERICAN band of the 60s. CCR revolutionalizes music

Creedence were THE band of '69, '70. This is such a great testimonial ..... but the best one is the music itself, which is still relevant and always will be as long as rock n roll survives.

Great induction speech & heartfelt tribute to CCR from the Boss. The thing I love about Creedence is the extraordinarily atmospheric nature of their music... that intro to Born On The Bayou sends chills tingling up my spine every time I hear it... there's definitely some Hoodoo going on there!

I’m glad it was Springsteen who was the one who presented them to the R&RHOF. That speech he wrote flows like lyrics from a song. It’s apparent he loved CCR.

First album I ever bought was CCR's Cosmos Factory. Hit After Hit After Factory was more like it. What an album! If I recall correctly, that was the summer of 1971 and I was about 13 years old. Rode my bike all the way over to Eaton's department store in Regina and picked it up. It wasn't so easy to scrounge up the $3 or $4 it cost back then. I can't remember what I did to come up with the money. Probably a birthday present. Fond memories, indeed!

I first listened to CCR when I was 13 and I've been so fond of their great numbers for the next 49 years. I first listened to the Boss when I was 26 and I still like his music so much and I enjoyed the privilege to listen and to watch him at the Vieilles Charrues festival in Carheix, France. The boss who inducts CCR is then an awesome treat for me!

My friends thought I was crazy for listening to CCR and Buddy Holly The Eagle's. I have raised my children on the same music. I think it is important to share some of our past with our children and music is definitely one of our past and present loves is music.

Jerry Brownell Ummmm that's not true. Other artists had phenomenal success with Dylan's works. Here's just the short list:
#1 - Blowing In The Wind (Peter, Paul, and Mary and at least a quarter of the rest of all 1960's bands)
#2 - All Along The Watchtower (Jimi Hendrix created an early-Heavy Metal classic with this, one of Bob's most poetic songs)
#3 - "Like A Rolling Stone" (Covered by no fewer than 20 different bands - including The Rolling Stones)
#4 - "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" (minor hit for The Dylan, but a Top 20 for The Four Seasons)
#5 - "Tangled Up In Blue" (A rare Dylan Top 20)
And this is just a VERY short list...

If you ever want to be upstaged [in a good way] have Bruce Springsteen induct you into the hall of fame. Not only will everyone know he's better than you at music, he has an uncanny ability to speak. Everything he said might not be true. But most is subject to opinion. But his job on that night is to glorify who he inducting. He does a great job of that.

actually, the southern inflections in his accent are addressed many times over in bios. In the area of Freehold he grew up in there were a lot of expatriate southerners, I believe they even called the area "Texas". so you are hearing a Jersey accent with southern influences. Nothing phony about Bruce.

Tom had five good solo albums in the 70s. Admittedly Stu and Doug were merely (as Homer Simpson might put it) competent, but Tom was better, a good writer and singer. Not quite in the same class as his brother, perhaps, but considering all the cover songs on Creedence albums, there could have been room made for him to contribute more--and Creedence might very well have lasted at least a few years longer. After all, it took George Harrison a few years to develop as a writer.

John Fogerty came with them snd he’s the one that wrote all the magical songs. His words have so much meaning. To think how the rest of those guys have worked hard at trying to take it from john. Much like The Band, Robbie Robertson dishonestly lied and told the world he wrote all the songs that were written by Levon Helm, Rick Danko, and Garth Hudsob, another name slips my mind but they all did thst and robertson turned his back on jis band mates snd claimed he wrote them. How awful that was. John Fogerty you wrote eonderful songs and you sang them all with so much meaning that it transformed it to become some of the best music in history of Rick and Roll. God bless you John Fogerty. We and others are all lovers of your music and all know the truth. Now days its too easy to learn the truth. 🙏

the Geistown, Pennsylvania clover leaf where cars road all around in a clover leaf you'll have seen jims jumping jax" an
out-door 8 trampoline or maybe 10 full-sized built there right into the ground/earth
And its been taken away by Sheetz then
first there's the Wise lumber company and went to there home including in fancy
bathroom, brand-new home, Noxema: there put it on my face and then had acne.
Primarily of utmost importance acknowledging CCR where brother John had his
first gig at jim's jumping jax: play & sing CCR as a trio

I don't like Bruce but he is a class act in this case . I don't like him because I'm from Jersey and he was burned out on radio there. He gives his fans 100% for sure.

So you don't like Bruce because the radio played his songs a lot? Great logic there.
The radio has always played Smoke On The Water to death but that doesn't stop me liking Deep Purple.

Why knock bands (Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, etc.) in an induction speech? Getting to the Hall is not a race. They got in and deservedly so. Enough said. You can’t compare bands that have different experiences and have influenced an untold number of people.

take a second to remove your head from your assholes and youll find that bruce is a trillion time more accomplished than CCR. Thats comin from a guy who loves CCR. Have a little respect. Bruce is one of the best stories in American history. Came from nothing and rose above to rock n roll greatness. 40+ years hes been performing and producing great songs. How long did CCR last? Exactly!!! STFU

No disrepect to Credence but Bruce, you're wrong. Credence was neither the hippest nor best band in the world. Let's see, in the late 60's early 70's, we were given Tommy, Live at Leeds and Who's Next by the Who, Let it Bleed, Get Your Ya-yas Out, Sticky Fingers from the Stones, even Led Zeppelin II, Led Zeppelin III, and Led Zeppelin IV. No Bruce, much as I like Credence, they were far from the best.
