John you are an inspiration to me, keep fighting even at your lowest. Thank you for your inspirational songs and life story. Can't wait to see you in a few weeks in Connecticut. Keep on rockin John
Thank you. I was vaguely familiar with a case out there involving Fogerty but didn't know the facts. As a songwriter, publisher, and a lawyer, I can't begin to describe the pandora's box this would have opened had Fogerty lost. I mentioned to a very successful songwriter that I sometimes get my songs mixed up. He replied: "Wait 'till you've written 500 and they're all in the same tune." He was joking, of course, but songwriters have a style in the same manner as singers do. The songwriting community, particularly the writer/artists such as Fogerty, dodged a huge bullet here.
Fantasy Records was NOT the publisher of the CCR songs. The songs were published by(among others) Jon Dora Music Inc. Fantasy held the "mechanical" copyright, that being the actual physical recordings on 45rpm, LP, CD or cassette.
With a name like Saul, would you expect anything else? 😒 That was the scumbag Lawyers name, ugh, sorry Saul, YOU LOSE, AND ALSO PAY MR. FOGERTY FOR HIS INCONVENIENCE AND DEFENSE FEES 😂
I think an absurdity has gone unnoticed here. Had the publisher that sued Fogerty won the case, then Fogerty would have been required to pay the publisher who in turn would have been required to pay half of the judgment to the aggrieved writer who wrote the original song, "Run Through the Jungle." That writer of couse was the defendant, Fogerty. The moral here for this and many other reasons I won't go into is that if you record your own songs and if it is at all possible, publish them yourself. A publisher's job is to get the song recorded which Fogerty surely didn't need but I suppose his giving up the publishing was part of the Creedence record deal. Many years ago when I made my first recording a music person "offered" to publish a song I wrote that was on the record. I wasn't all that savvy but had better sense than to give away half of my song. It has since been recorded by several acts and although I didn't get rich I got 100% of the royalties rather than the 50% I would have got had I accepted that generous offer.
Good for you John Fogerty, a victory over Fantasy well overdue !!! - It was a win for all recording artists! - Thanks for sharing the video with us - Can't wait to see you at the Nokia Theater doin' Cosmo's Factory, HEY TONIGHT ! - Keep On Chooglin' !

John Fogerty speaking about music publishing made me immediately think of Badfinger. They were ripped off big time by the management side of music. A very sad ending for Pete Ham and Tom Evans as a result.
Some parts of the music industry, really do stink to high heaven of infected shit! The mean spirited, petty minded bullshit which is prevalent in certain facets of it make you sick to the pit of your stomach...!!! Keep on rockin' John!!!
Which song do you like better? As a song I like the "old man" one better - especially for the guitar work. I do wish it was recorded with CCR circa 1970 - I love that sound they had at the time. The 80's solo stuff always bugs me somehow, kinda digital sounding, can't put my finger on it. But I don't hold it against John, I hold it against modern technology. So grateful for this awesome artist.
I noticed that as well - electronic drums were fairly new, and John used it quite a bit on his Centerfield album. He used track recording to put each instrument and the vocals on, layered on from individual takes. I still like the album a lot, though. I enjoy his follow-up album "Eye of the Zombie" even more, and that one featured some session musicians to give more of a "jam" type of feeling and fullness to the recordings.
John is the best storyteller-in his songs and describing real events. Everyone can relate to the preposterous nature of the suit and the hilarious vindication in court: computerized Fogarty: WHAT!

what I've always wanted to know is how he gets the "swamp rock" sound from almost any guitar. I did here him one night when he didn't have the setup right, or didn't have the setup at all... sounded like just about any normal guitar. Has to be something in pedals, amps, something.

Your man-made religious delusion has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING. It's really sad. People blabbering their religious mental illnesses.
Fogerty
The one thumbs down on this video must've been that ratfink Saul Zaentz.
big deal, only retards click the thumbs anyways
Ping Pong
I guess you don't get a whole lotta clicks huh?
It's what they do for their livings. Haters they're called
@DIRTYBOB59 Bingo!
DIRTYBOB59 says the man with Charles Manson as his avatar/icon.
Well done John F - you deserve much more than you get but we all appreciate you for surexx
The lawsuit sounds similar to Monsanto and their hybrid seeds (GMO)
It's as stupid as Neil Young sued for not sounding enough like Neil Young...
I have those 2 albums...they were weak. not worth the money.
Jimmy Fallon does Neil Young better than Neil Young does Neil Young
@@justina249 haha...if you say so
@@dannobles4299 i seen that on a comment once when Jimmy did s Neil Young skit. Cracked me up
When will TH-cam average the audio volume of all the videos? This one is low the next one blow my eardrums out
Basically, there’s a family resemblance between all of his “children”.
It comes down to one word: "greed".
"Mr. Greed" is my favorite John Fogerty song, and was written about Saul Zaentz.
yes so true and the band gor nothing now and john is doing well!!lol
It was a win for all recording artists! - Thanks for sharing the video with us -
Can't wait to see you at the Nokia Theater doin' Cosmo's Factory, HEY TONIGHT ! -
Keep On Chooglin' !
Great stuff John! 60s n 70s best music! Keep it going!
gonna register all my songs and publishing rights after seeing this! what hell Fogerty had to go through...he is an all American in high standing!! glad he prevailed in court!!
What's funny to me is the only CCR member I knew was John Fogerty and I still know and don't care who the others were
exactly salute
Yeah, if you listen real close you can hear the other CCR guys, still whining in the background, but then I turn up JOHN'S music and you can't hear them anymore!
@@bebo5558 LOL! True dat!
yeah the others are snakes.
Tom Fogerty is dead, but the other 2 are still alive, still trying to live off the name. I think one's name is Stu.
Sing em out John --- they are your songs. And cause you sang them for us and we loved them --- they are ours too.
Fantasy Records should be forced to hand over mechanical copyrights on ALL Creedence and Blue Ridge Rangers recordings to John Fogarty - FREE, GRATIS!
Wait a minute.... Free & Gratis mean the same thing.... Or are you being redundant on purpose? Reremember that to next time OK?
@@stlbusker3025 The words do mean the same, yes, but, due to common practice the two words are often thrown together in a sentence as if to strengthen each other's meaning, to emphasise each other's meaning.
Thanks John saw you two years ago great show. I love run through the jungle I hope you can make peace and perform it again.
They sound nothing alike, actually; even with the same tone and tuning. You want to hear a bunch of songs sound EXACTLY the same, listen to ANY country song in the last five years.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
They HAVE a similar vibe/feel, but musically totally different and in different keys!
So much respect for this man because he didn't allow himself to be stepped on by soul sucking no talent charlatans.
This video ought to be shown as a lesson in any school that has even a small but sort of legit music curriculum.
Taken to court for being similar to himself, or sounding like himself what a great waste of his time and not to mention all the songs we missed when he couldnt or wouldnt play due to contract shit, 5year deals and golden chains, crazy
I love ya’ John 😂🤣😂🙄Keep on Rockin’ ....fine man, fine father, great musician !!
So Incredible and Unbelievable!!! Wow !!!
LOL... wish I could have been in court to witness the computer geek do his thing. :)
The music industry lives in a BIZZARO world very few of us can comprehend.
14 Top-40 songs - 1969-1971. That was Fogerty. Not Fantasy Records or CCR.
The parasites moved in to feed on and kill the art.
Old Fogerty and Old Neil have the same gutsy hoarse sound in their late years. Two greats of the Americana genre!
What a heart breaking story, especially as a songwriter myself!
ummm I can't stop laughing at the boopp boop examples lol
The first two CCR albums and songs from the others are so much better than his solo work. And the Duckee Market still exists.
It's really pathetic that any legal system lets something like this go to court.
Criminal to steal and accuse the victim.
Would have loved to be on that jury!!! Would have awarded you legal fees too!
John Fogerty speaking about music publishing made me immediately think of Badfinger. They were ripped off big time by the management side of music. A very sad ending for Pete Ham and Tom Evans as a result.
Phil sloan
John Fogerty is not someone to be messed with.
Some parts of the music industry, really do stink to high heaven of infected shit! The mean spirited, petty minded bullshit which is prevalent in certain facets of it make you sick to the pit of your stomach...!!! Keep on rockin' John!!!
Tan lindo John Fogerty Desde 1969 🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👍
John was CCR screw the rest.
Disney sued Saul Zaentz for being a copyright infringement of Scrooge McDuck.
So sad are things in life, WE as music Lovers Have been deprived of what John could have and should Have been able to record his Song writing and Musical composition's are still to this day are the prelude to a better feeling threw out our day
DAM THE MACHINE
Heck that's so funny, the computer story
START A PETITION PEOPLE against those in the industry who have done him wrong for profit.
Actually sounds more like Born on the Bayou. Ridiculous. He loves that E7 drone. What jerks.
what I've always wanted to know is how he gets the "swamp rock" sound from almost any guitar. I did here him one night when he didn't have the setup right, or didn't have the setup at all... sounded like just about any normal guitar. Has to be something in pedals, amps, something.
dark timbre (notes going down) and the tremolo helps a lot
They have a good point, John Fogerty really does sound like John Fogerty. What can we do about this? LOL
Yes. Unfortunately some might say.
Money money money is what makes the world go round but money money money also makes the world go down
Greed is really something special
